Specifics of nursing care for elderly pacients after orthopedic surgery at the ICU in the faculty hospital Na Bulovce
ŠVECOVÁ, Markéta
Seniors are the group of patients most frequently occurring at the workplace of the author of this thesis, the ICU department of the Orthopaedic Clinic of Bulovka Faculty Hospital. Nursing care of seniors has its specifics mostly resulting from higher demands of aging organism. Despite the intensive efforts to provide the largest group of patients with quality care made at the workplace there is always something to improve. The main goal of the thesis thus was to find an answer to the question what could be improved on the quality of nursing care of patients after an orthopaedic intervention. Qualitative research in the form of a non-standardized interview was applied to collection of the necessary information on the present state of the issue. The research was conducted at the Orthopaedic Clinic of Bulovka Faculty Hospital. The research sample consisted of nurses working at the department and senior patients hospitalized there after orthopaedic interventions. There are several conclusions resulting definitely from the research. The nurses are sufficiently informed on the issues of nursing care of seniors after orthopaedic interventions and have sufficient possibilities of providing quality care. The factors negatively affecting the care being provided particularly involve obsolete technical background of the ICU and unsatisfactory constructional arrangement of the theatre. The solution of the problems is however closely linked to the lack of funds. As for staffing there is a problem of a large number of insufficiently qualified nurses compared to those meeting the qualification requirements. The conclusion of the research has provided an answer to the question what the spheres of improvement of the quality of nursing care of patients after an orthopaedic intervention were. According to the conclusions of the interviews with nurses and patients these are particularly better information of patients and investment in gradual improvement of material and technical base of the ICU, which would provide the patients with sufficient privacy, and make their exacting stay at the ICU easier. The problems of patient information might be solved by distribution of informational brochures defining patient?s rights and obligations, including the basic data of the department regime and instructions where to find answers to frequent questions. Integrating spiritual and religious needs in the nursing process in Tábor hospital corp.
PETERKOVÁ, Blanka
During an illness, spiritual and pastoral needs play an important role, although their saturation is not yet accorded such importance as is the case in meeting biological, psychological or social needs. The first objective of the work was to determine how spiritual and pastoral care is integrated into the nursing process at the wards of Nemocnice Tábor, a. s. (Tábor Hospital). The second objective was to determine the satisfaction of clients/patients with the provision of such care. A qualitative research study was conducted based on semi-standardized interviews with nurses and clients of Tábor Hospital, and also with the clergymen and pastoral assistants who provide spiritual care in the hospital. The research sample consisted of 10 ward nurses, 10 hospitalized clients, 2 hospital chaplains and 2 pastoral assistants. The investigation revealed that the spiritual and pastoral care is incorporated in Tábor Hospital in the form of religious services, providing sacraments, conversations of clergymen and pastoral assistants with clients. Nurses are involved rather in the emotional support of clients and they do not basically saturate their spiritual needs, especially in consideration of their work load as well as their unfamiliarity with this issue. Clients are not satisfied with the providing of spiritual and pastoral care, because such care is not provided to them, particularly on the part of nurses.

Work with the client family home hospice?s care
MACANOVÁ, Miriam
The diploma thesis entitled: ?A work with a home hospice care client´s family? focuses on an issue associated with a dying at home. The care for a dying man is in such a case provided by family members with a help of a home hospice. The theoretical part clarifies an area connected with providing of hospice services and amodern concept of the hospice care in the Czech Republic as well as in the world. This chapter´s key is a clarification of an issue of the home hospice care and its characteristics. Further it contains topics: a family, a finality of life, phases of dying according to Kübler- Ross, a palliative care, social work in the hospice care. The aim of the thesis was to map a system of the work with a family caring for a patient in the home hospice care. To work out the diploma thesis I used a strategy of a qualitative research. I applied a method of an oral questioning through a technique of a narrative interview with the caring people. As a complementary method I used a semi-structured interview with a social worker and a nurse of the home hospice. Respondents were chosen among people caring for dying men who are patients of the Tabitha Home hospice in Brno. I realized interviews during the month of February until early April 2012. The interviews took place after a mutual agreement, at respondent´s home or in the home hospice rooms. The interviews with women-home hospice workers were carried out in the hospice rooms. 10 interviews with respondents were realized. Data processing was done by categorizing data. Results show that respondents are satisfied with services of the home hospice and they evaluate them positively. They appreciate an approach, a work of the home hospice staff and their respect for the dying as well as wishes of theirs. A support from the side of the home hospice is provided in material, technical, psychological and also spiritual forms. Despite demands of the care provided by the respondents, they would care for the dying at home again. The diploma thesis has been intended for professionals dealing with the given issue, but also for a lay public who wants to learn more about the home hospice services. The thesis should show benefits of this service.

Psychosocial consequences of maltreatment, abuse and neglect in chilhood
LEITGEBOVÁ, Zdeňka
The bachelor´s thesis at hand focuses on psychosocial consequences of insufficient or defektive childcare, which involves disproportionately harsch physical punishments, sexual abuse and/or lack of sufficient expressions of love and acceptance. Children affected by these adverse events face major problems in their later lives and their behaviour, attitudes and lifestyle in further life stages, especially in adolecence, may be harmful to society. The objective of the thesis was to recognize the effects of maltreatment, abuse and neglect in childhood in the girls living in the Educational Institution in Jindřichův Hradec. The second objective was to identify what subjective needs we can see in girls suffering from CAN syndrome who were put in the Educational Institution in Jindřichův Hradec. The quelitative survey carried out in connection with the topic in question used the theory anchored in deasing. The method employed in collecting data involved interrorgations using the technique of semi-structured interview. Qualitative content analysis was selected as the method for data processing. The research target group comprised of 10 girls who had been subject to maltreatment, abuse and neglect in their childhoods and who have been assigned to live in the Educational Institution in Jindřichův Hradec. The outcome of the survey schows that the selected girls who were subject to abuse in their childhoods suffer from depressions, apprehensions, anxieties, and embarrassment. Commonly , they schow low self-esteem and no trust in themselves and people around. Other frequent consequences of CAN (child abuse and neglect) syndrome, which the girls mentioned in the guided interviews, include experiments with addictive substances, aggression, and self-aggression. Current needs that the girls quoted most frequently included: need for family, partner, freedom, but also continuous attention of another person. The survey suggests that the girls have an unsatisfied need for harmony, understanding and love. The results of the survey may be used while completing individual plans of care for the girls assigned to the Educational Institute in Jindřichův Hradec. The thesis might serve as an inspiration for those who work with developmentally traumatized children and youth for special educators and other specialists working in other institutions around the Czech Republic.

Social pathology from the perspective of socially excluded Roma
JUREČKOVÁ, Monika
The submitted diploma thesis has been focused on the chosen socio-pathological phenomena in terms of socially excluded Roma adolescents. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part there I clarify first of all concepts as a social standard, a deviation and its basic theories, a culture of the poverty, I also deal with a delinquent and criminal behaviour in a context of the ethnicity, further I describe a social pathology in the Roma minority, a social exclusion of the Roma ethnic group including issues of social-excluded localities and in the end of the theoretical part I deal with an explanation of the concept Romany or the Roman ethnic group. An aim of the diploma thesis is to identify how Roma adolescent men and women living in social excluded localities perceive the social pathology. Because of the objectives and particularity of the research sample as well as the research investigation, I chose a qualitative research, a method of an interview and a technique of a half-standardized dialogue with open questions. The target sample includes 14 respondents aged 13 to 20 years. I addressed respondents in two socially excluded localities as follows: ? a dormitory of defaulters ? a dormitory of the housing estate type The result of the thesis is a recognition which phenomena are perceived by the social excluded Roma adolescents as pathological ones and which are their standard and whether they represent a factual standard for them or in what extent they have a personal experience with them.
