Glycocalyx shedding by cercariae of bird schistosomes
Chaloupecká, Jana ; Mikeš, Libor (advisor) ; Štěrba, Ján (referee)
Trichobilharzia spp. are avian schistosomes related to medically important human parasites of the genus Schistosoma. Penetrating cercariae are well known as causative agent of cercarial dermatitis in humans. Cercariae actively penetrate the skin of definitive hosts and transform into schistosomula. This process is preceded by cercarial tail detachment and includes emptying of penetration glands and extensive surface changes. One of these changes is the loss of highly immunogenic glycocalyx which represents a protective coat in the aquatic environment. The glycocalyx has specific composition of saccharide molecules which are bound to lipids or proteins on the membrane of cercarial tegument. There is only limited information about the mechanism of shedding. Hypotheses based on indirect evidences suggest that peptidases or (phospho)lipases from penetration glands could be involved. This work describes the changes in surface glycosylation during transformation of cercariae into schistosomula by fluorescently labelled lectins and monoclonal antibodies against Lewis X antigen. Lectins UEA-I, LTA and PNA have been chosen as markers of transformation of T. regenti. Further, our experiments have been focused on shedding of cercarial glycocalyx. During in vitro induction of penetration gland emptying and...
Study of the interphase region of wood bonds
Chlup, David ; Dufka, Amos (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with summarizing knowledge on issues related to the penetration depth of the adhesive into the wood structure. In the thesis they are described all adhesion theories. We focus on the effect of viscosity and durability bond line according to varying amounts of filler adhesive. Furthermore, it is described some microscopic techniques, which measure the penetration of the adhesive into the cell structure.
Usage of of common reclaimed asphalt in asphalt mixtures
Přívara, Jakub ; Coufalíková, Iva (referee) ; Dašek, Ondřej (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on adding of RAP (reclaimed asphalt pavement) to the wearing asphalt courses flexible pavements. Specifically it is SMA 11S asphalt mixture. The theoretical part describes issues of ecology and recycling. The practical part deals with bitumen recovery from SMA mixtures with different added ratios of RAP and assessment of basic empirical and functional tests on the bituminous binder. The verification of properities of modified bituminous binder used in this quality SMA mixtures is also introduced.
Interaction Core - Melt by Casting of Cylinder Heads from Al Alloys in Semi-Permanent Moulds
Hlavsa, Petr ; Roučka, Jaromír (referee) ; Tegel, Michal (referee) ; Rusín, Karel (advisor)
This dissertation thesis deals with interactions on the interface core - melt by casting of cylinder heads from Al alloys in semi-permanent moulds and solves a specific problem with sticky sand after decoring of a diesel cylinder head casting. It describes in detail the process of core production using the Cold-Box method and process of casting using the progressive technology Rotacast. It theoretically analyses the reaction on the interface core-melt and presents a classification of surface defects by Al castings produced by gravity casting into semi-permanent moulds. It also states the results of technological tests of binders, core mixtures and cores (Cogas analysis). By solution of a problem with sticky sand in intake and exhaust ports of diesel cylinder head casting is used methodology for problem solving DMAIC. All experimental tests are solved in laboratory and production conditions of an international company dealing with casting of cylinder heads from Al alloys in semi-permanent moulds.
Tools and methods for breaking into wireless networks of standard IEEE 802.11 with virtualization
PECHA, František
This bachelor's thesis aims to introduce readers to penetration testing of wireless networks working on IEEE 802.11 standards. The theoretical part of work describes IEEE 802.11 standards and which security features are used. There are also described possible attacks on each type of security. In the practical part of work are all attacks tested with use of operating system Kali Linux, which is designed for penetration testing. Kali Linux is used in a virtual environment and Live distribution. There are also described all virtual environments and used software and hardware for testing.
Analytical methods determining the quality of joints of wooden adherend
Šmíra, David ; Vejpustek,, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis is focused on evaluation of analytical methods, which are used for analyzing of bondline in timber adherend. Primary goal of this thesis is focused on specific methods, it means methods used for evaluation of adhesive flow into timber adherend with help of fluorescence microscopy, method of FTIR Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and thermal analysis method such as Dynamical - mechanical analyse.
Optimized manufacturing of aluminium castings by using lost wax technology
Talanda, Ivan ; Horenský, Jiří (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
Aim of this diploma thesis is to choose new pattern wax for Fimes a.s. foundry. New wax should substitute old not fully satisfactory pattern wax which caused problems in technological process resulting in increased number of rejects. New pattern wax should eliminate current problems and help foundry with producing large, thin-walled, high-quality castings. Numbers of pattern waxes supplied by world’s leading wax manufacturers were subjected to laboratory tests and pilot study. This diploma thesis is part of project Alfa TA01010766: „Research and development of production technology large, thin and high quality castings of aluminium alloys “
Influence of cement moulds on the structure of nodular iron castings
Stachovec, Ivo ; Šenberger, Jaroslav (referee) ; Rusín, Karel (advisor)
The object of the diploma thesis was to solve and to describe the influence of cement sands moulds on the structure of castings with cast iron LKG. The work was intent on watching the tendency of cement sands to the metal penetration of castings, rising of the compounds on the metal mould interface and liquid metal and accompanies elements on the shape of the graphite in the surface of casting. The study of this processes has a big theoretical and a practical meaning, for prevent and prediction of rising of the defects that are attached with unsuitable choice of sand.
Interaction between liquid metal and foundry mixture
Tomek, Ladislav ; Muselík, Pavel (referee) ; Rusín, Karel (advisor)
Subject of the diploma thesis was to resolve influence of grey cast iron on penetration into cement sand. Methodology of trial was designed and its attestation was implemented in experimental and running conditions. On boundary-line cement sand and pouring metal was certified generation of complex allied substances. Created mathematical model of mechanical penetration proved influence of temperature and chemical composition of grey cast iron on range of penetration.
Ageing of asphalt binders and mixtures
Štěpanovský, Vlastimil ; Komenda, Radek (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
Diploma thesis is particularly focused on ageing of asphalt mixtures and asphalt binders. In the theoretical part an array of methods simulating short term and long term ageing consequently is introduced. The main objective of the practical part was to carry out the long-term ageing test method BSA (Braunschweiger Alterung). Thereafter, specimens testing for stiffness properties according to CSN EN 12697-26 were made. After conducting the measurement on those, asphalt binder was extracted and processed to follow-up testing. The testing consisted of a range of methods – Penetration CSN EN 1426, Ring and Ball test CSN EN 1427, Determination of the Frass breaking point CSN EN 12593, Determination of complex shear modulus CSN EN 14770 and Dynamic viscosity using a dynamic shear rheometer (DSR). The given results were assessed in the last part in order to evaluate the rate of the binder degradation caused by the method BSA.
