Iinformation system for wireless network management based on MikroTik routerboard
Hromádko, Petr ; Kubánková, Anna (referee) ; Malý, Jan (advisor)
The master`s thesis deals with a concept of a web information system, designed to manage clients of a wireless network based on Mikrotik routerboards. The system allows the internet provider to have a great survey over all clients of the wireless network and to manage the settings of Mikrotik based network hardware. Furthermore, it offers an ability of signal strength monitoring and data accounting. The thesis has been split into two sections. The first one describes the information system as such, used platforms, equipment, running services and server configuration. The second section is fully focused on the analysis of the application security, database schema design and functional forms. The strongest emphasis has been put to the conjunction of the Mikrotik OS based routerboards with a web server and to the testing in a real environment.
Measurement of network traffic at access point
Novák, Ondřej ; Škorpil, Vladislav (referee) ; Molnár, Karol (advisor)
This master’s thesis focuses on the issue of measurement of parameters of network traffic of wired and wireless networks. The first part theoretically describes SNMP protocol and application interface API, that form the basis for acquiring and evaluating data. The next section describes known MIKROTIK platform and software solutions for the alternative possibility of implementing a new feature. The last part closely describes the created application. It is a simple information system, whose task is to get information and evaluate it using the known functions. The conclusion of the work is a few tests of this application, assessing the real operation.
Multiplatform application for Mikrotik network devices management
Bárdossy, Adrián ; Frolka, Jakub (referee) ; Krajsa, Ondřej (advisor)
Diploma thesis contains the description of the application developement for management of network entities based on mikrotik devices. In the intro, there is the description of used libraries, also description of API. In the next part of thesis there is programmed part of application backend. This part contains description of individual directories of project, which was written in pycharm. Every directory is described by one file together with UML diagram and table of methods in specific class. In the next part of thesis, there is the description of graphical part of the application and its example on one section of programmed buttons. It contains also output in form of pictures from the application. In the last section, there is tutorial for modules instalation, which are needed to run the application and contains manual testing of application.
Web system for user management
Frkal, Jan ; Kouřil, Jiří (referee) ; Jelínek, Mojmír (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis describes web system that files users of Internet network and can work with them. The system allows for complete user management, search, organization of IP addresses, tariffs and user’s devices. New users can be stored in the router Mikrotik RouterBoard. An important part of the system is also billing users. Administrators can show the history of billings, paid and unpaid invoices. System access is allowed only to authorized administrators.
Modular web-based interface using MikrotikAPI
Janda, Lukáš ; Frolka, Jakub (referee) ; Krajsa, Ondřej (advisor)
This diploma thesis is dealing with creating a web interface for managing and configuring RouterOS system using MikroTik API. Web interface is protected against intrusion unauthorized persons and contains mechanisms for managing users. This web interface allows extend the application using modules, which can extend functions of this interface. PHP framework was used for for creating this interface, configuration of RouterOS can be stored in a MySQL database.
Automatické nasazování bezpečnostních pravidel na základě sledování provozu v síti
Fišer, Patrik
This thesis deals with the implementation of rules for automatic deployment of security rules on devices from MikroTik or sending notifications to the administrator in case of detection of unsafe traffic on the corporate network. This will be monitored by an IDS system, the choice of which is part of this thesis. All logs will be collected in the central logging system Graylog. It is expected to work with open-source solutions and test of the functionality of the whole system by simulating the traffic.
Performance and security analysis of Wireguard technology
Varga, Oliver ; Holasová, Eva (referee) ; Krajsa, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis deals with the description of WireGuard virtual private networks technology, its comparison with the technologies IPsec and OpenVPN based on the encrpytion algorithms they use to ensure security and also compares their technical parameters such as latency, jitter and transfer speeds. The work includes a description of the WireGuard technology, a comparison of the mentioned technologies and finally the results of the measurements of their technical parameters. The methodology chosen by us for testing the parameters, the hardware used to obtain the results and the network topology are also described. Finally, the results obtained from the tests are compared.
Mikrotik RouterOS Module for IBM QRadar
Sysel, Václav ; Polčák, Libor (referee) ; Hranický, Radek (advisor)
The goal of this work is to design and implement an extension for the IBM QRadar system. It is a security system that detects cyber attacks by collecting information from the computer network. The purpose of the extension is to enable the collection, processing and visualization of information from MikroTik RouterOS operating system. The designed software provides administrators of networks with MikroTik elements with a better awareness of what is happening in the protected network and a comprehensive overview of the security situation.
Securing services on Mikrotik platform
Kociská, Vanesa ; Holasová, Eva (referee) ; Krajsa, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis goal is to familiarize the reader with the correct methods of securing network devices. It focuses on securing routers with RouterOS, where the functionalities of the old and new version of the operating system are compared. Based on the recommendations the theoretical part, a detailed configuration process is suggested. Subsequently, testing of the devices is performed with the most common network attacks on a secured router. The practical part also includes a simple configuration script for RouterOS, with which a new device can be configured and a bash script to test the functionality of the suggested security measures.
Log analysis of active network elements
Kajánková, Petra ; Zeman, Václav (referee) ; Slavíček, Karel (advisor)
The master thesis focuses on the issue of searching for malicious activity originating from authorized users who have permission to modify devices. The theoretical part first introduces the basic network model ISO/OSI, together with TCP/IP. It then focuses on the two most well-known logging protocols, the Syslog protocol and SNMP. The practical part of the work consists of the theoretical design and subsequent implementation of the program that is able to evaluate records of events occuring on individual network devices.
