Kritérium vytvoření syntetizovaného proudu ve vzduchu
Kordík, Jozef ; Trávníček, Zdeněk ; Šafařík, P.
Synthetic jets are studied experimentally in this contribution. The present study is based on the hot-wire data measured in air. The formation criterion of the synthetic jet has been evaluated as relation of the Reynolds number and the Stokes number. Results were compared with literature and a very good agreement was concluded.
PIV study of the controlled pulsatile jets
Pírková, L. ; Kopecký, V. ; Trávníček, Zdeněk
The aim of this paper is to describe an experimental study of controlled pulsating jets using PIV method. The present synchronization of PIV data with the pulsating process enables to measure vector maps of the flow field with the time steps under 1ms. Principle of PIV method and the present experimental set up are described. Main part of the paper discusses vector and scalar maps of the flow.
Experimental study of of time development of pulsatile jets using classical PIV method
Kopecký, V. ; Kotek, M. ; Pírková, L. ; Jašíková, D. ; Trávníček, Zdeněk ; Hlína, Jan
This paper describes a quantitative visualization of pulsatile flow fields using classical PIV method. A synchronization of PIV measurement with the control signal allows to acquire flow fields maps with time steps less than 1ms. The results are presented for jets from weaving nozzles, for controlled jets, and for plasma arks for electrostatic spinning.
Experimentální studium bifurkačních proudů metodou PIV
Pírková, L. ; Kopecký, V. ; Trávníček, Zdeněk
This paper describes an experimental study of bifurcating jets using PIV method. Principle of PIV method is shortly explained, and the present experimental set up (mainly settings of the laser and measurement system) is described. Second part of this paper discusses results, which are shown as vector and scalar maps of the flow.
Velocity Profiles of Synthetized and Continuum Jets
Kordík, J. ; Trávníček, Zdeněk ; Šafařík, P.
The synthetic jet and continuous jet velocity profiles were measured and compared. The report focuses especially the root mean square differences derived from the measured data. The formation criterion of the synthetic jet were also determined and compared with literature.
Formation criterion for various synthetic jets: power and frequency characteristics
Kordík, Jozef ; Trávníček, Zdeněk ; Šafařík, P.
Synthetic jets are generated by periodic alternating flows. The jet parameters are: dimension, frequency, oscillation shape and amplitude. The Reynolds number (ReH) and Strouhal number (StH) (or Stokes number SH) are used as dimensionless paramers. The experiment was performed for the Reynolds number range of ReH = 500–10000 and Strouhal number range of StH = 0.2–8.9. Flow visualization and hot-wire measurement were performed. The present results focusing on the jet formation criterion agree quite well with the available literature (the criterion ReH crit = 0.16 SH2).
Časově-prostorová analýza syntetizovaného paprsku
Uruba, Václav ; Knob, Martin
The Bi-Orthogonal Decomposition is applied to analyze the velocity data obtained from experiment on synthetic jet flow. The spatiotemporal velocity distributions are obtained by the PIV method in fast time sequence. Dynamical characteristic of the studied flow-field are presented.
Dynamika syntetizovaného paprsku
Uruba, Václav ; Knob, Martin ; Popelka, Lukáš
The paper presents recent results obtained in synthetic jet research in IT, Fluid Dynamics Department. The case in quiescent air is examined experimentally using time-resolved PIV method. Results concerning a synthetic jet mean characteristics and dynamics behaviour are presented.
Numerical solution of the plane synthetic jet flow
Hyhlík, Tomáš
In the paper the results of numerical simulation of sytetic stream issuing to quescent fluid on infinite step are shown. The FLUENT software was used.
Strategie řízení mezních vrstev
Uruba, Václav
A review of flow control strategies which could be applied on wall turbulent flows is presented. Control goals are related namely to transition to turbulence and boundary layer separation. A special attention is paid to active control strategies involving hydrodynamically driven oscillatory actuators, particularly synthetic jets.
