The practical part presents a selection of five houses of culture built between 1948 - 1989, which are located in the geographical area of Prague and Central Bohemia. Data collection was carried out using field research methodology, through a critical evaluation of available historical sources and secondary literature. Typology of the Great War monuments in Prague and its surroundings
Klimt, Šimon ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor) ; Pech, Milan (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with a general typology of World war I memorial sites located in the urban area of Hlavní město Praha. It aims to produce a comprehensive framework of the memorials erected. Field research in the form of visiting majority of the sites and procuring their photographical documentation was a key part of the thesis. An effort to define memorial sites in terms of places of memory as well as an examination of the influence the great war had on contemporary sculpture within the new Czechoslovak state had been made before the typology itself. The area for data collection does not reflect the contemporary "Great Prague" of 1922, whose inception marks the erection of many of the memorial sites in favour of the present day Prague cadastral territory. The reason for such decision being the possibility of differences in motifs between the integral parts of then Prague and surrounding villages which were to be integrated later. The typology consists of several categories which classify the memorial based on their formal architectonic and sculptural properties or their ideological background, respectively. A single chapter also examines the memorials of Prague that had been irreversably destroyed by subsequent regimes. Each memorial is described in terms of its year of origin, author...
Multiproxy evidence of Late Pleistocene environmental changes in the loess/paleosol sequence of Bůhzdař
Flašarová, Kristýna
Loess-paleosol sequences preserve information that can be used to reconstruct paleoenvironement, specifically the climatic conditions and the vegetation present at the time of their formation. A dense network of reliably analyzed sequences from different geographic locations is crucial for representation of ecological and climatic trends during the Pleistocene (Frechen, 2011). The aim of this thesis is to fill the gap in the geographical distribution of well described loess-paleosol sequences in Central Europe. Therefore, it focuses on a loess- paleosol sequence in Bůhzdař, situated 9 km NW of Prague, Czech Republic. This profile was last studied in 1952 by naturalist Vojen Ložek. This thesis uses a number of analyses in order to get a multi-proxy record of local paleoenvironmental changes archived in a sequence of alternating loess sediments and paleosols in Bůhzdař. Geochemical approaches are combined with grain size distribution to define climatic conditions at the time of formation of the strata. Key words: loess/paleosol sequences, Bůhzdař, Czech Republic, particle size distribution, total organic carbon, XRF, XRD, stable isotopes 13 C and 18 O

The description of the strategy and objectives of the program, the characteristics of the individual priority axes and areas of intervention during the subsidy system are given in the theoretical part. The practical part deals with the development of the use of structural funds in the Central Bohemia Region, where overall results achieved within the Regional Operational Program in Cohesion Region of Central Bohemia both from financial and technical point of view are evaluated. An analysis of the fulfillment of monitoring indicators at the level of priority axes and comparing actual results with expected targets in the program documents follows. In the final part an actual effects and impacts of program implementation on the population of the entire region of Central Bohemia are analyzed. The results of the Regional Operational Program in Cohesion Region of Central Bohemia and the comparison with other operational programs in the programming period 2007 - 2013 are given. There is also the evaluation of one of the failed projects and one of the most successful applicants on the contrary. The examples of completed projects are given.
