A suitable adhesive system to be used to connect aluminium door frames of railwayes vehicles is picked based on a literary study. The basis for proposing and choosing a fitting alternative is in technical data sheets provided by suppliers of the adhesives.

Cut & cover LRT tunnel in Norway
Zetková, Simona ; Růžička,, Pavel (referee) ; Uhrin, Michal (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to design and assess a Cut and Cover tunnel for light rail traffic underpassing a busy road. The tunnel is a part of route extension to the airport. As a part of the design it is required to assess ground conditions, design phasing of constructions, demonstrate construction sequence, perform simplified structural analysis, compare drained and undrained tunnel design alternatives and draw reinforcement schemes. All mentioned requirements were successfully accomplished with help of corresponding Eurocodes, books and technical advice. According to structural analysis it was possible to design a structure which meets the requirements of rail traffic and local geological conditions. The phasing was designed such that the impact on traffic on the road is minimal. Using the high quality concrete and reinforcement bars enabled designing sustainable and safe structure for the planned traffic. The comparison of the alternatives demonstrated that both design alternatives are feasible and realistic. When internal forces are compared, it is obvious that higher values occurred on undrained alternative, and therefore cross-sections would have to be enlarged or the structure would have to be more reinforced, which would increase its price. Important advantage of drained alternative is easier construction. On the other hand, the impact on the environment would be much lower with the undrained tunnel.

Reinforced concrete structure of the railway platform roofing
Vodová, Pavla ; Bažant, Zdeněk (referee) ; Šulák, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor‘s thesis deals with assessment of existing damaged reinforced concrete strucutre of the railway platform roofing according to the original project documentation. Apart from assessment of existing structure, there is prepared a design of two alternative solutions. The first alternative is a remediation of damage structure with description of appropriate diagnostic methods for testing concrete structures and with description of technological process of implementation of remediation. The second alternative is design of completely new structure instead of existing one. This new structure is designed as a monolithic frame contruction with restraint reinforced concrete panel and one – step foundation block. In this bachelor’s thesis there were prepared a design and assessment of sub – sections and work – out appropriate drawing documentation. All static assessments are calculated according to ultimate limit state.

Alternative forms of financial solution of risks

This diploma thesis is focused on alternative possibilities, how can we apply financial solution of risks. First part of this thesis describes problems of current commercial insurance market. There are also mentioned traditional ways risk's transfer and their possible troubles. In following part there are chapters containing alternative forms which solves specific kinds of risk related to different economical subjects. In the last part there is discussed possibility of state participation of catastrophic events. The aim this thesis is to identify the problems of current insurance market, evaluate common used techniques the risk's transfer and suggest suitable ways which can be used to solve the problem of risk with cooperation of financial markets, public finance and other alternative instruments.

PCR-based detection of hidden carriers of cataracts in dogs
FARKOVÁ, Barbora
The hereditary cataract is one of the most common eye disease in dogs. The expansion of this disease in the Staffordshire bullterrier breed has been so massive that in the Czech Republic was introduced the rule of mandatory testing of at least one of a breeding pair. This is a degenerative disease of the lens causing total blindness of the affected animal within three years. Since some time ago there are no more dogs affected by the disease in the Czech Republic, there are however still hidden carriers which need to be discovered to the complete extinction of the disease in the genome. The goal of this study was to test simple ways of collecting biological samples, try them in practice and to verify whether they are suitable for the DNA isolation and also to test an alternative method of molecular detection of this disease. In total there have been 23 buccal swabs collected from male and female Staffordshire Bullterrier examples. The detection of the hidden carriers of the hereditary cataract was carried out by PCR analysis with specific primers. The obtained amplicons were detected by both gel and chip electrophoresis and by using fragment analysis. This detection of the carriers was based on the presence of two amplicons (heterozygotes). I came to conclusion that to detect hidden carriers it is neccessary to use the fragment analysis because of the difference of only one base in the reference section of DNA. Neither gel nor chip electrophoresis does provide sufficiently high resolution and it is not possible to detect two fragments that differ only by one bp. As the most appropriate sampling method I have chosen the buccal smear by cytological brush followed by isolating the DNA by Chelex with purification of the sample subsequently.

Alternative communication issues in children with combination of hearing and other impairments
MASTNÁ, Ivana
Bachelor thesis deals with the issue of children with multiple disabilities and application of individual forms of alternative communication. The theoretical part are analysed and defined not only the characteristics of hearing impairment and autism spectrum disorders, but also to be accommodating alternative communication as a whole. Acquired knowledge based information retrieval expert sources were then applied in practice. During their teaching practice, the author had the opportunity to see two children whose hearing impairment was combined with a diagnosis of childhood autism. Processed were two case studies (case study) of these children, from which it appeared that alternative forms of communication seems to be very appropriate for their use in children with multiple disabilities, helping them in a comprehensive orientation in the world.

The thesis contains, inter alia, information about what's tablet, what are the types of tablets and operating systems running on them, what are the possible accessories and their general possibilities of use in the study. The current state of the division of the tablet market, representation of different operating systems and the possibility of including the tablet in the school environment and connection to school infrastructure are also described. The main part deals with a thorough analysis of the software used in the selected courses and focuses then on finding suitable alternatives, if any, which can be run on any tablet with one of operating systems - iOS, Android and Windows. In the conclusion, the use of tablets is evaluated vis-a-vis the study of selected courses within the branch of study Applied Informatics, including recommendations for changes in these courses. At the same time the best operating system for the study of selected subjects is recommended.

Utilizing Bootstrap and Cross-validation for prediction error estimation in regression models
Lepša, Ondřej ; Bašta, Milan (advisor) ; Malá, Ivana (referee)
Finding a well-predicting model is one of the main goals of regression analysis. However, to evaluate a model's prediction abilities, it is a normal practice to use criteria which either do not serve this purpose, or criteria of insufficient reliability. As an alternative, there are relatively new methods which use repeated simulations for estimating an appropriate loss function -- prediction error. Cross-validation and bootstrap belong to this category. This thesis describes how to utilize these methods in order to select a regression model that best predicts new values of the response variable.
