The aim of this thesis is to define and describe the hardness of material, possibilities of its testing, including the history and development of individual tests of hardness. The practical part of this work consists of the application of some of these tests on selected samples, including the evaluation of the results.

The aim of this paper is cognition of eastern art feng-shui, selecting specific part and its subsequent putting into practise at Elementary Art School. It deals with "Theory of the five elements", which includes fire, earth, metal, water and wood. The theoretical part describes the theory of feng-shui and short history of eastern art, foundations of art education and different kinds of art creation, mainly spatial and action creation. The practise part is a note of teaching at Elementary Art School and presentation this topic into the school practise.

Development of materials used for downhill skis production

The submitted thesis is a retrieval type and is concerned with the technologies and materials used in the manufacture of downhill skis with a deeper focus on the last ten years. Examined are materials for the manufacture of ski cores as well as other parts of the ski, and that in terms of comparison of the construction materials and technologies. Listed are basic elements and characteristics of skis, methods of manufacture, materials for the manufacture of individual parts of the skis and, last but not least, the types of skis. The work is eked out with the analysis of several samples of skis, on which were made cuts, they were observed and structures were compared. The aim of this observation was to determine whether the materials found in the practical section corresponds to the information contained in the theoretical part.

This diploma thesis is focused on design of the exterior seating. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part of thesis is focused on the seating in general. Exterior seating furniture, especially metal is mentioned in following chapters, which are more developed. Metals are mentioned in the next chapter. The theoretical part ends with a chapter of design, in which among other things, are described principles of design. In the practical part is first analyzed the suitability of the material selection and then is calculated maximum deflection of the most exposed parts. Furthermore, the work is focused on the proposal itself. The first is research of exterior furniture. The proposal is first created with the help of sketching, then it is created in 3D visualization and first models are created also.

This thesis deals with the issue of wooden jewelry, which is compared to metal jewelry. The main themes are: human attitude towards wood and wooden jewelry, the visual and haptic comfort connected with perception of wood, comparing wood and metal as a materials for jewelry from the environmental, hygienic and esthetic points of view. Then, a brief analysis of recent wooden jewelry production is made. Following the theoretical discussion, two collections of jewelry are designed.
