Water Treatment Plants Innovation Opportunities
Zelený, Zdeněk ; Biela, Renata (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with the possibilities of innovation process water treatment. Specifically, to explore the use of sodium water glass and nanoiron in removing heavy metals from raw water at the drinking water treatment. For the comparison was used traditionally used coagulant, particularly liquid aluminum sulfate. The introductory part deals with the possibility of modifying the surface water during the treatment process such water into potable water. This chapter is a description of the quality of raw water used, then the description of currently used separation processes. Furthermore, they are described and commonly used types of treatment plants. Conclusion The introductory section deals with traditional coagulants and form a suspension. Another part of this master´s thesis has been devoted to the possibilities of innovation in the treatment of raw waters as drinking water, describes the options and features of the use of water glass and nanoiron. The following section describes the experimental part of this thesis. It is followed by the experimental results. The last chapter summarizes the acquired knowledge and commented on the measured values of the experimental part. This work also shows several specific projects using innovative technologies presented.
Water Treatment Plants and their Failure Modes
Baranová, Zuzana ; Anderle, Lukáš (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this thesis was to conduct a survey in selected water treatment plants to identify possible faults with which treatment providers may encounter. Within the thesis has been visited these treatments: ÚV Troubky, ÚV Hosov, ÚV Příkazy, ÚV Černovír. Further was performed evaluation of the collected information, specification and frequency disturbances occurring on those premises.
Evaluation of water quality in water treatment plant Mokošín
Vosáhlo, Jan ; Vybíralová, Pavla (referee) ; Biela, Renata (advisor)
The theme of this thesis is " Evaluation of water quality in water treatment plant Mokošín". The source of water supply are 4 artesian wells. The paper first describes the supply area and water treatment plant with individua water treatment technologies. In the practical section there is the specification of contaminating elements required to be separated at the water treatment plant. Since it is an underground source of water, there is an increased amount of iron and manganese. Increased attention is given to arsenic, which occurs in two water sources in recent years. There are also offered the possibilities of removing arsenic at water treatment plant and two filter materials tested in the laboratory. Monitoring of water quality takes place always in resources and after treatment in the time period of five years, the arsenic values are reported for ten years.
Determination of selected musk compounds in biotic samples
Blahová, Eliška ; Čáslavský, Josef (referee) ; Vávrová, Milada (advisor)
Musk compounds (MUSK) or synthetic fragrances are organic substances commonly used as fragrant constituents of detergents, soaps, cosmetics, personal care products, industrial and in-house cleaning agents, industrial plasticizers, chewing tobacco and fresheners. The big attention is pushed ahead studying these compounds, their fate in different parts of ecosystems and studying their characteristics at present, because musks infiltrate many environmental components, particularly aquatic and marine ecosystems, through their large application and their ability to be perzistant. This diploma thesis was focused on four synthetic “classical” fragrances used over the world. The aim of this study was to perform a method optimisation for the determination of selected fragrances in biotic matrix. There was made an evalution of ability of selected water treatment plant to clear away musks from water, these results were used for evaluating contamination measurement of aquatic ecosystem. The identification and quantification of analytes was carried out by high resolution gas chromatography - mass spectrometry (HRGC/MS).
Evaluation of occurence of musk compounds in water ecosystem
Tobková, Lenka ; Zouhar, Libor (referee) ; Vávrová, Milada (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is concerned with synthetic musk compounds and their presence in the environment, particularly in water ecosystem. The thesis contains fundamental classification of synthetic musk compounds together with specification and detailed description of their most significant representatives. Among them are linalool, citronellol, and isobornyle acetate which will be studied further in master’s thesis. Fundamental physical-chemical properties of these odoriferous compounds and their toxicological and environmental impact are studied. Also part of this thesis is a detailed description of synthetic musk compounds’ analytical determination.
Water Treatment Plants in the Czech Republic
Pavlů, Tomáš ; Vašalovská, Petra (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The thesis is aimed on establishing of well arranged catalogue of selected water treatment plants in the Czech Republic, with special regard to basic information about particular plants. The first part is focused on general information about Czech water treatment plants, followed by water treatment categorization using several criteria, and the most commonly used water treatment technologies in the Czech Republic. The fourth part of the thesis is concentrated on data acquisition and its evaluation. Last but one part is represented by description of the individually visited water treatment plant. Finally, the thesis is completed with a catalogue of basic information about selected water treatment plants.
Design of Water Supply Facilities with the Support of Simulation Software
Pešout, Jakub ; Tauš, Miloslav (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The subject of the thesis is the design of water supply facilities with the support of a simulation software. The document is a summary of representative software tools that are used to design water supply sites directly or serve as supportive programs. A short summary of the origin, primary focus, availability and market price of each tool is listed in the survey. Furthermore the individual programs are divided into four groups. The section conveys the software's ability to deal with any of the following issues: - Water quality - Hydraulic analysis and simulation of hydraulic working - Design of water network - Creation of simulation models Subsequently, three chosen programs are subjected to exemplary tests, demonstrating some of the capabilities. The first program is Watpro, on which a design of a water treatment plant is drafted and a subsequent search for the sufficient dose of chemical additives is executed. The second program Epanet 2.0 calculates a model test of a water leak from a pipeline. The result is then compared with the outcome of equation calculation. The last program is Watdis, with which the same example of pipeline leakage is calculated and subsequently compared to the Epanet 2.0 result. The work's aim is to provide an overview of the seventeen selected programs and supply the information to potential users from the ranks of designers and students.
New trends in water treatment
Zdražilová, Alena ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee) ; Biela, Renata (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is divided into to two parts. The first part contains an overview of new trends in water treatment. The second part shows examples of use of some mentioned type of new technologies, which can be found in practice, that is on water treatment plants.
Energy consumption analysis of water utilities
Bábíček, Michal ; Raclavský,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Ručka, Jan (advisor)
In the first part was an analysis of possible cost-saving measures to reduce energy consumption in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Part of the work analyzing energy savings for water treatment plant Bzenecis divided into three parts. Part one deals with a brief description of the individual technological units. In the second part of the individual technological units analyzed in terms of savings already realized by the operator and also in terms of savings that operators shall submit for consideration and possible implementation. The lastthird part summarizes the findings in the second part of the analysis and alsooutlines possible new solutions that are applicable to all objects of the operator.
Options hygiene of drinking water
Šopíková, Lucie ; Hlaváč,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Biela, Renata (advisor)
The first part my Graduate work contains an overview of all possible types of disinfection of drinking water used in the present. The second part shows examples of use of each mentioned type of drinking water disinfection methods, which can be found in practice, that is on water treatment plants. The conclusion is a comparison of advantages and disadvantages of various methods of disinfection.
