Effect of intensive physiotherapy on overweight and obezity in people from 40 to 50 years
ILLOVÁ, Lenka
The topic of my bachelor thesis is Effect of intensive physiotherapy on overweight and obesity in people from 40 to 50 years. Obesity is severe illness quickly becoming a heavy problem in the society. In spite of this, a little emphasis is put on monitoring and solving the increasing number of overweight and obese people. In my opinion it is a hot issue considering the incidence of obesity is increasing, and occurring in countries which have not been affected so far. The theoretical part deals with the aim to find out, whether the addition of physical activity to the daily routine influences losing weight. The next point includes the research of the influence both physical activities connected with the change of eating habits on losing weight. The last aim was to compile and realize the remedial program helping overweight and obese people to lose weight. There was a qualitative research based on casuistry of four people used in the practical part of the thesis. The kinesiology analysis from the opening and resultant examination provided information. A part of this analysis is an anamnesis including structural dialogue, visual and physical examination, anthropometry and specific physiotherapeutic examination, such as callipers-Ace and detection of the deep stabilization spine system. The therapy took place for three months. Probands participated in the conditional training, aerobic kinetic activity and the deep stabilization spine system mobilization. It figured out from the research that the most suitable way how to reduce body weight is the combination of more physical activity and the change of eating habits. The best results were achieved within probands who changed their eating habits at the time the therapy started. Only the application of kinetic activity while treating obesity and overweight cannot cause marked losing weight. One of the probands even gained weight as well as made smaller his waist girth. The research confirmed the necessity of individual approach to each of the probands. Every person responds and adapts differently although the problem is alike. The obesity and excess weight treatment is a long term matter, however, three months confirmed the effectiveness of the therapy. This thesis can serve in clinical physiotherapeutic practice for overweigh and obesity treatment. Next it can be used like study materials for students and graduates of the physiotherapy branch or for laic public.
The Movement Activity of Children and Adolescents in the Selected Schools
HORNÍKOVÁ, Kateřina
As it is evident from the title, the thesis deals with physical activity. It is concentrated on physical activity among children and adolescents in chosen schools. The thesis is divided into two parts. Theoterical part consists of several chapters. Firtsly, I pay attention to basic terms like musculoskeletal system, movement, physical activity and movement regime. Next part of the thesis deals with the problematic of hypokinesia, which becomes a characteristic feature of contemporary life style. Further, I mention motoric skills and abilities. I am interested also in motivation for physical activity. One of the chapters is dedicated to somatotype and assessment of body weight using body mass index. Possibilities influenced by physical activity among children and adolescents are a substantial chapter I deal with the influence of school enviroment and family. Subsequently, I engage in right development of exercise, its intensity, frequency and duration. Further I pay attention to the meaning of motion and its positive influences on human health. Finally, there are mentioned suitable physical activities for children and adolescents. In the practical there were used researched data gained from a quantitative query method by questionnaire. The questionnaire was anonymous and consisted of 19 questions. First group of questions was concentrated to the basic information about pupils and students, next questions devoted to physical activity at school but also in their free time. The questionnaire was determined for pupil sof Middle and High School from 6th to 9th grade. Pre-printed form of questionnaire was subsequently handed out to two Middle Schools and two High schools in Písek. Interviewees were provided with information how to proceed hen filling in it. Totally, 106 questionnaires were handed to the schools, out of them 102 came back correctly filled, return was 96%. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to map physical activity among children and adolescents in chosen schools and to find out the influence of a family, school and enviroment on the formation of regular physical aktivity among children and adolescents. There were set free hypotheses. Hypothesis no. 1: Children and adolescents who engages in physical activity in thein free time have lower BMI (body mass index) than children and adolescents who spend free time passively. This hypothesis was confirmed based on research. Hypothesis no. 2: Physical education is put into education only twice a week. Based on the answers of respondents, this hypothesis is confirmed. Hypothesis no. 3: Schools do not develop sufficiently extracurricular and sports activities. This hypothesis is not confirmed on the basis of the research. The research results will be provided to schools, where the surfy was done. Based on data obtained pedagogues can improve the relationship of children and adolescents to physical aktivity, especially during physical education and education for health. Teachers of physical education can change their attitude to physical educational classes. It is possible to put new games or even new sports during classes and encourage taste to sport among children. It is important to limit time, which children and adolescents spend in front of TV or computer. Essential role plays the influence of family, school and enviroment. It is important to introduce children and adolescents with the positive aspects of physical activity and create a new relationship to the physical activity from early age.
Cooperation nurses and patients with cardiovascular disease in secondary prevention.
BOHÁČOVÁ, Martina
The theoretical part deals with the basic issues clarification of the disease, examination methods in cardiology, prevention of cardiovascular diseases, risky factors and the nurse´s part. The practical part contains processed and evaluated data, gained during the research. The subject matter of the thesis was to map the cooperation between the nurse and the patient with cardiovascular disease within the bounds of providing secondary prevention. To fulfil the research part of the bachelor´s thesis we have set four main aims: 1. To map the nurse´s part in the secondary prevention by a patient with cardiovascular disease. 2. To map the cooperation in the relationship a nurse-a patient within the bounds of secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases. 3. To find out patients´ expectations from nurses in the field of secondary prevention at the inpatient ward. 4. To find out patients´ expectations from nurses in the field of secondary prevention in the outpatient care. In connection with these aims we have given the following research questions: 1. Do the patiens know about possible complications which may appear if they do not follow prevention measures? 2. What is the patients´attitude toward gaining information in the field of prevention measures? 3. What is the nurse´s part in the secondary prevention by a patient with a cardiovascular disease? 4. How do nurses and patiens cooperate within the bounds of secondaary prevention in cardiology? 5. What expectations do the patiens have in the field of secondary prevention at the inpatient ward? 6. What expectations do the patiens have in the field of secondary prevention in the outpatient care from nurses? You may find relevant answers to the research given questions in the practical part. A qualitative research has been used for the empiric part of this bachelor´s thesis. Data collection has been realised by means of half-structured dialogue carried out in the hospital of Tabor a.s. and České Budějovice a.s., at the standard and premium service wards of cardiology. Dialogues with nurses and patiens have been arranged into several parts. The first part contains indentification data, the second concerns the nurse´s part in the secondary prevention by a patient with cardiovascular diseas, furthermore mutual cooperation between the nurse and athe patient and the last part is marked as expectations within the bounds of providing secondary prevention. Alltogother 6 general nurses and 6 patients took part. The data gained was processed into charts of thoughts. While interpreting the gained data respondents´ direct quotation was used without linguistic modification. From the dialogues results of the studied groups it is obvious that cooperation and mutual communication between the patient and the nurse is a field where improvements are needed. On the whole, it is obvious, from the research, that mutual and good cooperation takes part in the patient´s treatment. Patients are provided sufficient number of information. The most frequent agent of information is the doctor. Informtion is passed most often orally or by means of brochures and leaflets. The research shows that patiens are well informed in the given problematic. They have knowledge about regime measures, cures and complications which may arrive when not observing recommended advice. The change of lifestyle is inevitable by patiens with cardiovascular diseas. However, this is the biggest problem for the patiens according to the research. Many patiens do not follow important principles and therefore they endanger their health and life. In practice, this thesis may be used to improve awarness in the field of health risk by patiens of cardiology within the bounds of secondary prevention. At the same time the results could help the students of health care as a complement to teaching. The result of the thesis was working out the most important principles which the patient should follow.

Movement activity and inactivity of the younger school age children in Klatovy\\
LUŽNÁ, Simona
The movement activity of boys and girls of 5th classes of the chosen primary schools in Klatovy were observed. The movement activity was noted by questionnaires IPAQ (short edition) and with the pedometers YAMAX SW-700. The subsequently done analysis of questionnaires approved the higher movement activity of the boys. However, the obtained results from the pedometers showed the higher movement activity of the girls, the boys had the higher movement activity only at the weekends. The analysis of the results from pedometers found out, that the most of the boys didn{\crq}t perform the required norm of consumed energy during the day, while the girls were more successful. The amount of steps performed by the boys was also under the recommended daily ration, however, the girls had the better results for their category again.
The impact of eating habits upon incidence of weidht problems in school children
LUPÍŠKOVÁ, Šárka
Child obesity is becoming a huge problem not just in the Czech Republic, but also among other developed countries. The World Health Organization (WHO) claimed that obesity is a plague of the 21st century. There was a noticeable prevalence of obesity and overweight in industrialized countries and also in the Southern Hemisphere. Although adult obesity has been increasing, the number of obese children has gone up even more rapidly. Currently, in the Czech Republic, nine percent of children are overweight and six percent of children are obese. There are even 4-year-old or 5-year-old children who are 50 kilograms. The theoretical part consists of children{\crq}s health care, the educational role of nurses in primary care, its definition, its purpose, its diagnostics, health risks, and the prevention of obese children. In the theoretical part we focus on the role of school nurse and her importance in the Czech Republic. The object of my graduation work was to get an overview of school children{\crq}s obesity in selected schools in West Bohemia. The scheduled targets were fulfilled. Included in the research were two pre-set assumptions. The first assumption was that the eating habits of school age children do not correspond with rational nutrition. It was not confirmed because it was found that in our research only a minority of pupils don{\crq}t keep up with the principals of rational nutrition. The second assumption stated that insufficient physical activity influences the occurrence of obesity of school age children. This hypothesis was confirmed. Pupils in their leisure time do not pay attention to physical activity at all. They usually watch TV, play PC games, or use PCs for school and other purposes. The research results should be used in the education plan for pupils, teachers and nurses in primary care, they also should improve the lifestyle of school age children, explain to them the importance of a correct way of living. And, in the last place, the results should help to forge good cooperation in the area of obesity prevention and in the area of school age children{\crq}s lifestyles
