An Early Retirement and its role in the social security system.
ZDVIHALOVÁ, Martina
This thesis addresses the issue of early retirement. The theoretical part discusses the role of early retirement in the social security system of the Czech Republic. First, it describes the system of our social security itself. The next section deals with the development of the pension insurance from its beginnings to the present time. Since 1996, the applicable legal regulation has been Act No. 155/1995 Coll. on pension insurance, but it has been amended several times. The last major amendment has been parameter changes from 1 January 2010. In subsequent chapters, the theoretical part deals with old-age pensions and, in particular, early old-age pensions, it explains the conditions of eligibility and related concepts such as insurance period, retirement age, pension application. The main objective of the thesis was to find out about the reasons for the submission of an application for a reduced early retirement. Other objectives were to find out whether they have sufficient information on all conditions of eligibility for this type of pension and what factors influenced their decision. To achieve the objectives, the qualitative method was used; the techniques of the research included semi-structured interviews and a secondary data analysis. The sample consisted of a total of 15 respondents (five unemployed persons, five employed persons and five self-employed persons). The research has shown that the reasons of applicants are similar not only within each group, but also between them (fatigue, health problems). The secondary data analysis was used to illustrate the size and structure of the basic sample. The results show that the early retirement is applied for by a relatively low number of people with higher education. I believe that currently early retirement has an indispensable role in the social security system and it should remain a part of it in the future. However, the thesis also shows that people in their pre-retirement age are not offered another appropriate alternative. The thesis should serve to raise awareness about the issues early retirement.

Taxes and similar charges in banking business
Pieran, Ondřej ; Kotáb, Petr (advisor) ; Kohajda, Michael (referee)
The purpose of the thesis is to analyse the relation between tax legislation and banking services. The thesis is formed of two parts. The first part (Chapter 1-3) covers aspects of the actual tax legislation in relation with banking services, the second part (Chapter 4-8) addresses trends which may be followed in the future regarding financial sector taxation. The thesis is composed of eight chapters. Chapter One deals with the position of banks as taxpayers of income tax, tax aspects of the banking business, tax provisions and the position of the banks as a payer of tax. The conclusions may be made that only limited pieces of income tax legislation are exclusive for banks. Peculiarities of banking transactions are reflected by accounting rules. Chapter Two focuses on the exemption of financial services from the system of value added tax. Some of financial services which are subject to the VAT are mentioned. Alternatives to the exemption approach are also investigated. Chapter Three is devoted to the system of deposit insurance and contributions of banks to the Deposit Insurance Fund. Future development in this field is also commented. Chapter Four deals with a general approach to the financial sector taxation, its motives, opportunities and related risks. Chapter Five examines the state of...

Borda rule as an alternative to other types of ordinal majoritarian electoral systems
Švec, Radek ; Lebeda, Tomáš (advisor) ; Novák, Miroslav (referee)
This thesis focuses on the less studied electoral systems, which are called ordinal. These methods allow the voters to order the candidates according to their preferences. The work provides a historical insight into this issue with regard to economics and political science theories, based on the concept of the Condorcet winner. Condorcet winner is the person who defeats all other candidates in pairwise elections and by theorists of the electoral system is the ability to choose the Condorcet winner essential. The work examines three electoral methods - alternative and suplementary vote and Borda rule. These electoral systems are analyzed in terms of effects to system of political parties, political actors and the electorate, with the emphasis on the utilization rate of preferential votes. These aspects are examined on the basis of the actual election results obtained from the website of the electoral commissions and independent institutions. Based on these data, a mathematical model that compares the effects of electoral systems is then created. The conclusion summarizes the results of the analysis and the author expresses further recommendations to address these electoral methods, not only professionally and scientifically, but also as real alternatives for real election.

Tři Dvory - History of the Village, its Monuments and Folk Traditions
Štolcová, Ilona ; Županič, Jan (advisor) ; Dvořáková, Michaela (referee)
The municipality Tři Dvory (Three Courts) lies circa 4 km east of city Kolín. The secondary road that goes through connects Kolín, Tynec above Elbe, Pardubice and Hradec Králové. The South-East salient of the Iron Mountains reaches into this area. It is perceptible that the river Elbe determined the character of the scenery. The river was originally shallower and wider and spilled itself out of the banks several times a year. After the regulation of Elbe a few blind cutoffs were created, which together with forestry and meadows design the tableau of the whole environs. Numerous pine forests are also characteristic for this region. Undocumented source places the origin of this community into 10 th century in conjunction with Slavnicks at Libice. The alternative version talks about b o u n d e r y - l i n e between 13 th and 14 th century when a few villages (Tři Dvory included) belonged to the monastery of Cisteriacks, located in Sedlice near Kutná Hora. The first extant report is from 1347. * According to the legend, the name of this town is derived from three courts which were found in address numbers 5, 25, 37 and belonged to Knight Rohan. We cannot be sure because the name is not historically documented. Till 1848 the community was entirely agricultural, however with the industry expansion in Kolín, the...

Extending Java with AOP
Grék, Jan ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Hamerník, Petr (referee)
This work aims to introduce the world of aspect-oriented programming to a Java programmer and help her/him to understand main approaches and to sharpen lines between some of the AO languages, mainly AspectJ and CaesarJ. First part is about foundations of AOP, based on the paper by Kiczales et al. and paper of Filman and Friedman. I also discuss AOP-related approaches to software development. Another theme is an impact of AOP on modularity in the context of the work of Kiczales, Mezini and work of Aldrich. In the second part I describe AspectJ. I elaborate on the jumping aspect problem and show alternative solutions to it. Then I describe qualities of Gof design patterns AspectJ implementation, based on work by Hannemann and Kiczales and explain AOP community reaction. I give alternative approaches to observer design pattern implementation in AspectJ and discuss their difficulties. The third part is about AO languages, Java Layers and CaesarJ. I explain, why mixins are not possible with Java Generics and elaborate on work by Mezini and Osterman about CaesarJ and give more detailed analysis of problems addressed by CaesarJ in relation to AspectJ and Java.

Alternatives to unconditional prison sentences and alternatives to criminal proceedings
Najdekr, Vladimír ; Jelínek, Jiří (advisor) ; Osmančík, Otakar (referee)
Resumé/Summary: This thesis deals with alternatives to unconditional prison sentences and procedural law alternatives in the field of criminal law. The introduction outlines the historical development of alternative sanctions and the reasons for their creation and implementation. The following chapters address alternative sentences as accounted for in the valid and effective Czech legislation. The community service sentence, as the most typical alternative punishment, is discussed in detail. Attention is also focused on suspended sentences, including suspended sentences with supervision, i.e. punishments which are definitely the ones that are imposed the most frequently in the Czech Republic. The sentence of pecuniary penalty, which is also often imposed as an alternative sanction, is dealt with thoroughly too. Other punishments, including forfeiture of an item, prohibition of a specific activity, prohibition of residence and deportation, whose alternative function is rather secondary, are paid less attention. The following part of the paper provides a comparison of alternative sentences according to Slovak legal regulations with alternative penalties envisaged by Czech legislation. In view of the recent amendment to substantive criminal law in the Czech Republic (Act No. 40/2009 Coll.), this chapter also...

An extensible attribute framework for ProCom
Štěpán, Petr ; Malohlava, Michal (referee) ; Bureš, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the attributes concept of ProCom, a component model developed within The Progress Centre for Predictable Embedded Software Systems. Attributes are pieces of information of various types and levels of abstraction associated with the ProCom entities during the development of a system. Based on the analysis of the development process envisioned by Progress, the requirements for the attributes of ProCom entities are identified, and various alternatives of realizing attributes are analyzed. The chosen solution of highly structured, multi-valued, and extensible attributes is elaborated. The thesis also consists of the design and the prototype implementation of an attribute framework realizing and proving the feasibility of the proposed concepts. The framework addresses the needs of all actors involved in working with attributes throughout the development of a system: It provides an extensible, modular GUI for viewing and editing possibly highly complex information contained in atributes, an interface for the programmatic access to attributes, and well-defined mechanisms for extending the attribute pool by new attributes, new attribute types, and means for their manipulation. The framework is integrated into the Progress IDE, the main tool supporting the Progress development.

Legal protection of domains in relation to the right of indication
Feuerstein, Michael ; Dobřichovský, Tomáš (advisor) ; Pítra, Vladimír (referee)
Legal protection of domains in relation to the right of indication The aim of this master thesis is to provide information about the relation between domain names and law, with particular attention paid to rights of indication. The reader will become acquainted with the classification of domain names within the Czech legal system, their possible conflicts with different rights, and procedures which can be used for their protection. The thesis reflects changes caused by the new conception of private law and recent judicial decisions, mainly regarding alternative dispute resolutions. In order to understand this issue, it is also necessary to be familiar with the technical aspects of domain names and the Internet, and therefore this subtopic is included in the thesis as well. The thesis consists of four topical parts. The first one, which is made up of the second and the third chapter, deals with the functioning of the Internet and IP addresses, the registration process of domain names, and their composition, management and main functions. It is followed by the second part, which is represented by the fourth chapter, evaluating the position of domain names in the legal system of the Czech Republic, especially in terms of the question whether domain names are the subject of ownership or not. In this...
