Italy: economy and regional differentiation
Lajnerová, Kristýna ; Abrhám, Josef (advisor) ; Bič, Josef (referee)
The thesis Italy: economy and regional differentiation deals in the first place with the current problem of the state of Italian economy influenced by the global economic crisis and secondly it looks at the underdevelopment of South Italian regions. In connection with the economic crisis the thesis describes measures adopted by the Italian government in order to reduce negative effects of the crisis on the economy and employment. These measures, especially the fiscal stimulus, belonged to the lowest in Europe also by reason of the huge general government gross debt. The second part of the thesis looks at the problem of the regional differentiation among the regions of the North and the South of Italy. South Italian regions suffer from underdevelopment, high rate of unemployment and low rate of employment and these problems haven't been successfully solved even after many years of their existence. The unfavourable situation in South Italian regions has moreover been worsened by the unstable political situation, corruption and activities of the organised crime. These obstacles are widely spread in Italy also according to the research of the World Economic Forum. It was supposed that the underdevelopment of South Italian regions would reduce as a result of the implementation of European Structural funds. The main part of the financial resources assigned to Italy goes to the South and so it was expected that the influence in southern regions would prove to be remarkable. Unfortunately, even after expiration of three programming periods just a little positive impact on the alleviation of regional disparities in Italy was proved. The quality of implementation especially in the South is affected by irregularities and frauds and the executed projects are often ineffective. This thesis comes to the conclusion that just a minimal convergence takes place among italian regions and the EU Structural funds failed to meet their main objective in Italy.

Public opinions about the problem of new religious movements and their possible danger in the regions of Ceske Budejovice and Klatovy
JINDROVÁ, Markéta
The problem of new religious movements is quite a current topic. Therefore, I have decided to write my thesis about this subject. The theoretical part contains the definitions of the basic terms, the characteristics of new religious movements, their catagories and characteristics of their victims, the context of new religious movements and the law, as well as the connection of religious groups and socially-pathologic phenomena. Each of the phenomena is attached to concrete examples of the social groups involved. Both qualitative and quantitative research was employed in the practical part. The methods that have been used to obtain this information were a survey and and interview, as well as the anaylsis of the data and content. One of the files for the survey was collected in the Klatovy Region, while the other was gathered from the people of the Ceske Budejovice Region. Thus, the acquired data were compared in order to reach the aim of the work. The two aims were set based upon the secondary data and one hypothesis was declared for each. The first aim, which was `to find out the public opinion on the problems of new religious movement{\crq}, was connected with the hypothesis `although the public is not sufficiently informed about the religious cults in the region, they are perceived as negative{\crq}. The other aim was to map the socially-pathological phenomena connected with the activity of the movements in these particular regions. Regarding that research, which was qualitative, the hypothesis was declared on the ground of the acquired data. Hypothesis No. 1 was verified. Based on an interview with local policemen, the other hypothesis was set: Although information about the socially-pathological phenomena connected with the activity of the movements reached the public, the Police of the Czech Republic do not have evidence of any crime of that character in the given regions. A booklet was put together, based upon the acquired information, giving the overall information about new religious movements, their characteristics and possible risks. In my opinion, the aim of my thesis was met. The research showed that the public awareness of new religious cults is rather low and the information is mostly distorted. The results of my work may serve as further insight into this problem and, threby it may become a stimulus to raise the state of awareness in this sphere.

Zákoucká, Jitka ; Reiman, Michal (advisor) ; Litera, Bohuslav (referee)
The Thesis deals with the problem of Stalin's cult of personality. This question was presented to the Closed Session of the Twentieth Congress of Soviet Communist Party on 25th February 1956. This statement known as "The Secret Speech" was delivered by the First Party Secretary N. S. Khrushchev. In his speech he denounced Stalin's crimes mainly during the Great Terror in late 1930s. Khrushchev and other Stalin's successors had tried hard to deny their own responsibility for the bloody purges during Stalin's era. The Thesis concentrates on effects forming content of the Secret Speech paying attention to instant power struggles in Kremlin. Rehabilitation process and investigation of Stalin's crimes is also an important part of The Thesis. In the conclusion I tried to answer the question whether the Secret Speech was a real turning point and if the changes and reforms made by Khrushchev were fundamental, permanent and stable. Another thing is how far the Secret Speech influenced the Soviet Union, its communist legacy and the world in general. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Šulc, Vladimír ; Dvořák, Jiří (advisor)
This dissertation work deals with the subject of a company in the area of e-commerce, which represents short-term or long-term plans in controlling the financial relationship toward the outer environment but also inside the company. The problem of possible abuse of credit cards is briefly analysed as well. The impulse for choosing this topic was increasing number of falsification and abusing of credit cards. When this subject is analysed in detail, the problem connected with lack of information on this particular area of crime inevitably appears. Clients of individual banking institutions often do not have even the basic knowledge about the ways their cards could be abused or misused. This is why the question of certain, at least minimal, basic information campaign done by the banks, which are supposed to protect the financial means of their clients. This dissertation work sets its goal in creating the methods of investigation of credit cards abuse not only in the Czech Republic but in the growing system of countries of Schengen Treaty and European Union. The benefit of the work can be seen in the level of theory as well of practice. The theoretical part of the work contains the analysis of the current situation of scientific knowledge in the area of information and communication technology of companies, which is implemented into information systems. Then the advantages and disadvantages connected with this kind of e-commerce are assessed and the specific opportunities for abuse of these media of payment are characterised. The problem sees mainly in writing a specialised publication, which would deal with the problem of abuse and falsification of credit cards and its possible use would be at police academies. Its main part should be the characteristics of particular forms of cards forging and also possible identification of these forgeries. This book could also help in prevention and inform clients of financial institutions about the ways of credit cards abuse. In the practical part, which concentrates on the Czech and foreign market, the author sets the basic premises for realisation of safe business of companies in the Czech Republic and its procedures. Furthermore the reasons of e-commerce abuse in the Czech Republic are analysed and results of quantification research presented. This was concentrated on ascertainment of reason of low interest in information among the public. Current trends in crime in the Czech Republic
BLÁHOVÁ, Radka
After 1989, our society as a whole underwent many changes: our proprietary relati-ons as well as our value system changed, a new social phenomenon unemployment emerged, and the crime rate in the Czech Republic went up rapidly. The aim of this un-dergraduate thesis is to map current trends in the development of crime in the Czech Republic. I have therefore focused on studying the effects of unemployment on the dy-namics of crime in selected regions of the Czech Republic. The main objective of my thesis is to test the causality between unemployment and crime, as well as as a partial goal to verify the impact of long-term unemployment on the crime rate in general. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and empiric part. In the theoretical part, I concentrated on defining the concept of criminality as such, and on examining the etio-logy of crime and its structure. The empiric part focuses on the testing of hypotheses. The basic hypothesis presumes that employment has a direct effect on crime rate, main-taining as a working hypothesis that the dynamics of general crime rate correspond to the development of long-term unemployment. During my work on the thesis, I used the quantitative research strategy, the statistical method, and secondary analysis of do-cuments as the data collection technique. I collected the relevant data from two basic sources, namely: data on labor and social trends from the Statistical Yearbooks that the Czech Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs published in the years of 2005 to 2014 and data from the public database of the Czech Statistical Office, where the CSO publishes data on all crimes recorded and identified. My choice of data was purposeful in that I divided the data into four basic sets, namely: annual reviews of the average number of job applicants; the number of job applicants unemployed longer than 12 months (status as of December 31 of the given calendar year); total crime rate and general crime rate from 2005 to 2014 in all the regions of the Czech Republic and Prague; and then the same for all districts in the Vysočina Region, South Bohemian Region, South Moravian Region during the years of 2005 - 2014. The results of my research did not prove a direct linear relation between crime dy-namics and total unemployment, hence my basic hypothesis has not been confirmed. The second area of my research did confirm that long-term unemployment impacts on the general crime rate in the given regions. Thus, the results of my work proved the existence of a link between long-term unemployment and crime rate. The study could therefore be used as support material when devising crime prevention programs on local or regional level. Simultaneously, however, I maintain that delinquency cannot be unambiguously associated with pro-blems arising from low social status.

Resolution of Road Traffic Delicts in Theory and Practice
Žabenský, Martin ; Vopálka, Vladimír (advisor) ; Staša, Josef (referee)
Resolution of Road Traffic Offences in Theory and Practice The aim of my thesis is to analyze current situation in the Czech Republic in the field of road traffic offences resolution. The reason why I have chosen this topic is the fact that road traffic offences are an illegal conduct that you are very likely to come across every day, and, despite this fact, there is not much literature about it. Most road traffic offences are committed by a motor vehicle driver. In the Czech Republic, there are about 6.5 million driving license holders, i.e. almost two thirds of the Czech population. In my thesis I have focused on offences which are specified in section 22 of the Administrative Offences Act (No. 200/1990 Coll.), i.e. offences that are directly related to driver's behaviour on the road and which are very often capable of causing a traffic accident. The thesis is divided into six chapters, starting with a short introduction in Chapter One. Chapter Two introduces the principal sources of road traffic offences law. Chapter Three briefly explains which public authorities are involved in the resolution of road traffic offences. Chapter Four is the most important part of the thesis; in its nine sub-chapters it describes the entire procedure of road traffic offences resolution. First, it points out the...
