Zhodnocení úspěšnosti výsadeb autochtonních dřevin do domácích zahrad na Sokotře
Nováková, Petra
The thesis is aimed to evaluate the success of the growth of trees planted in home gardens on the Yemeni island of Socotra with support of the Mendel University in the time range of years from 2001 to 2014. Since 2001 indigenous tree species have been planted in selected home gardens. These gardens were supplied with everything needed for smooth operation - fences, tubes, hoses and water reservoirs were built on the site as well. In subsequent years, planting went further and further, home gardens were gradually expanded to include gardens in schools. At the turn of March and April 2014 field survey was conducted and in this thesis the measured values of individual indigenous species were compared with measurements from previous years. These measurements from previous years and measurements that have been performed by our group were divided according to individual gardens and species. We studied height of group of trees, calculated average and measured height of individual trees, one tree was selected from different each species. When comparing averages of more species, a bar chart was used. When monitoring growth of one individual tree, obtained individual data were plotted in the circuit graph that shows the growth curve of the species and it is possible to track increment for certain period. The results are better than expected and show a relatively great success of these gardens. It should be noted that the vitality of trees is in close connection with the care of garden owners. Part of the work focuses on the arid areas in the global perspective, as plantings take place not only on Socotra, but also in other areas of arid zones, and these can be an example for other attempts at cultivation in these difficult natural conditions.

Lukáč, Pavol ; Čermák, Miloš (advisor) ; Javůrek, Adam (referee)
This thesis "New Forms of Distribution of News Coverage" sets out its target to briefly and concisely describe technologies that have affected our lifes in recent years and are going to affect them even more in next few years. The theoretical part of this work consists of the brief analysis of perception of new media (new forms of distribution) through the eyes of Czech media theoretics at the beginning of the 21st. Century, then there is a reflection on the thesis of Marshall McLuhan that "We live in the retribal period and the world is just a global village". In addition, the content of this theoretical part of thesis also consists of the description and comparison of new forms of distribution of TV signal, namely IPTV and Internet video, two ways of distribution which the author finds most progressive and interesting. The last, but not least important part of this part of this work is the comparison between the new forms of TV coverage distribution in Hong Kong and Central Europe. The practical part consists of the analysis of the survey based on participation of 70 Facebook users who answered questions on whether they watch tv news or which form of signal distribution are they subscribed to at home. The results of this survey are particulary interesting as the sample was aged between 18-25...

The bridge among buildings

This master's thesis deals with the designing of the appropriate supporting steel structure footbridge for pedestrians. The footbridge is used to connect two separate buildings (buildings D and Z at the Faculty of Civil Engineering Brno University of Technology). Four variants have been designed about solutions supporting steel structure. The final variant was prepared in detail and was carried out static assessment of the individual elements and selected details. The main supporting structure of this variant are two trusses. Diagonals of these trusses are designed linkage system of Macalloy 460. Bridge deck is designed of composite steel a concrete board with crossbars. The footbridge is designed as simple beam with an overhanging end. Length span is 34.8 m, length overhanging ends is 5.8 meters. The total length of the footbridge is 40.6 meters. Width of footbridge is 2.8 meters. Free width is 2 meters. In the cross point with the axis of local road is height of footbridge above ground 4.43 meters. Next to the building Z, there is a footbridge stored on a concrete support, near the building D, the footbridge is stored on a steel frame of support. The footbridge is deposited on elastomeric bearings. The footbridge is being protected from the weather. The sheating of the building is designed by Wictec 60 system. The master's thesis also contains drawing documentation of the proposed solution.

ACCULTURATION OF INDIVIDUAL WITH BEHAVIOUR DISORDER - PROGRAMME "BOROUK"
NÁPRAVNÍKOVÁ, Lenka
Socialization of an individual with behavioural disorder {--} programme ,,Borouk University Decree (Diploma) Work Abstract The aim of the thesis is to monitor situations of clients with problems of behavioural disorder, who was allowed from a hospital and protective training in Educational Institution and Canteen {\clqq}Husův dům`` in Dvůr Králové na Labem, and an evaluation of the socializational programme {\clqq}Borouk``. In a practical part of the thesis the author chose a quatitative research, in which she analysed data of clients allowed from 2001 to 2005. The programme {\clqq}Borouk`` is evaluated on the basis of data about resocialization of those clients. There is a case study enclosed in the text. In the closing part of the thesis, the programme {\clqq}Borouk`` is evaluated as a suitable programme, which helps clients with the behavioural disorder to socialize. The results show that a wide range of aspects of lifes of a group of examined clients were improved. Conversion of VI. electrical Exchange, Ostrava - DOV
Navrátil, Oldřich ; Zemánek, Václav (referee) ; Zemánková, Helena (advisor)
In my diploma project I do reconstruction and looking for new program for old industrial building in Vitkovice iron factory area. This building is part of Cultural heritage and we have to apply all heritage criteria on this. The building is big hall - big space with two old machines. Now the machines don’t work anymore. My idea is to connect this old indutry area with the rest of the city – with still living part of the city – and bring here new life. Students are new young blood. So I decided to put on part of Ostrava Technology University here. The other buildings will be used as a business center and research center. Great interaction for future – University, Business and Research center.

The application of legal standards in materials engineering
Večeřa, Petr ; Pantělejev, Libor (referee) ; Pavloušková, Zina (advisor)
The thesis describes points where the basic universal prescriptive system of law interferes with the questions of materials engineering. The main part of the thesis concerns legal liabilities, mainly civil liability represented with liability for defects. Basic analysis of chosen topics concerning liability for defects is done, defects are divided into groups as far as both technical and legal point of view is concerned. Consequently, the most common methods, principles and tests used for recognition and assessment of materials characteristics, both destructive and non-destructive, are described. Chapter, which deals with degradation processes follows. Integral part of the thesis are thoughts of possible types of legal liabilities, which could be important for materials engineers, with basic recommendations for contracting, as well as chosen problems connected with judicial proceedings and out of court settling of disputes. Technical standards are described with high attention, because both technical and legal public is not familiar with the legal background of technical normalisation.

Framework for extending the functionality of the user interface components in Java
Herain, Vít ; Šlajchrt, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Pecinovský, Rudolf (referee)
Within the Java platform, there are many easy reach GUI libraries, among which developers can choose which one to use for their own GUI applications. These GUI libraries have some common features that allow to abstract to some extend over the use of a particular library. The thesis describes a framework which has been developed with this idea. Framework provides the possibility for developers to extend the application containing the text components, menus and toolbars of universal extension facilitating work with the text. In the theoretical part there are briefly discussed libraries such as Swing, JavaFX2, Apache Pivot and Google Web Toolkit. Further, there are analyzed design patterns, which are linked to the framework and abstraction over the GUI libraries and applications.
