Economic view of the fast closing valve selection for HPP Vranov
Gipka, Ondřej ; Kuchař, Jan (referee) ; Klas, Roman (advisor)
The thesis deals with the evaluation of the investment in the fast closing valve replacement in The dam Vranov using Computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The final effects of the fast closing valve replacement will be examined on three different types of valves with regard to the turbine output in operation zone and without the influence of water intake runner and turbine draft tube. The aim of the thesis is to theoretically evaluate alternatives of the fast closing valve replacement and define its basic characteristics and classifications.
Welding analysis of turbine rotor
Minář, Luděk ; Daněk, Ladislav (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
A research bachelor thesis analyzes possibilities of welding on turbine rotors with emphasis on efficiency, productivity and economy of welding procedure. The work evaluates presence of failures in weld joint and effort to prevent them. Characteristics of turbine materials, which resist to high service temperatures are presented on the literature sources basis. Concept of welded turbine rotor is preferred, because it has many advantages in using big steam turbines for power industry.
Usage rate watercourse
Görig, Michal ; Bok, Jaromír (referee) ; Matoušek, Antonín (advisor)
The Bachelor's project deals with a design of the small water power plant. In the first part of project there is a theoretic introduction about renewable energy sources and possibilities to electric energy produce from them, it describes possible types of water-power plants and their turbines. Next part is specialized for the choice of suitable area for building of mentioned small power plant. The design of machinery contains suitable turbine and generator. The electric part of water-power plant and connection to electric grid is also described. The last part values the investment to realization of this power plant.
Design of a micro waterpower turbines for low head and low dicharge
Macek, Libor ; Fic, Miloslav (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis discusses the issue of finding type of water turbine for very low heads and low discharges, which could be operated as mobile micro hydropower plant in island mode. Thesis deals with summary of appropriate choices of water turbine for needs of micro hydropower plant. Essential part of diploma thesis deals with design of optimized waterwheel. Waterwheel was chosen because commercial high-speed turbines have low efficiency for low heads. Waterwheel was manufactured and measured in laboratories of Fluid engineering. Measurement output was discharge and efficiency characteristic of turbine. The price calculation was made after manufacture.
On the milling of turbine blades
Raška, Tomáš ; Polzer, Aleš (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of this work is an introduction to milling of turbine blades. It is focused on description of turbines, of materials use for their manufacturing, of milling, of CAD/CAM systems, methods used to generate trajectories on complex surfaces and presentation of principal issues encountered during milling of turbine blades.
CFD Simulation of Turbocharger Regulating Mechanism
Drdla, Adam ; Vančura, Jan (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to provide research into turbocharger regulation, and analyze the force load of vanes in the VNT mechanism of Garrett turbocharger by CFD simulation. In the thesis there is one model with two different mesh densities. It describes the relevance of supercharging vehicle engines and the kinds of supercharging aggregates in the introduction. Then, the thesis is divided into two chapters. The first chapter provides research, describing primary principle of supercharging, turbocharger construction and kinds of air regulation. The practical part of the thesis solves the force load of VNT mechanisms. It was necessary to optimalize the 3D Garrett turbocharger model, create two meshes with different element densities, specify boundary conditions and analyse the results of both cases. A general description of solved problems, comparison of results of force load vanes and propose simplifying and verifying the CFD calculation are included in the conclusion.
Creation and estimation of small hydro power plant model in PSCAD
Razyapova, Aygul ; Radil, Lukáš (referee) ; Kopička, Marek (advisor)
This thesis focused on creating a model of a small hydropower plant model (SHPP) and a part of the electricity network in the simulation software "PSCAD" (basing on real sources). The model will be specified on the basis of the data obtained from the measurements to correspond with the real equipment.
Comparison of backwashing principles in mechanical filters for drinking water
Zedníček, Václav ; Bělohradský, Petr (referee) ; Haltmar, Břetislav (advisor)
Aim of the thesis is to conclude and widen knowledge of backwashing principles in order to find potential use in Honeywell water filters. The aim of the first part is to make a research and to compare principles of backwashing in water filters. In last parts of the thesis three prototypes of backwash filters are designed and tested and feasibility study is made. Finally, their suitability for further use based on previous findings is assessed.
Design of gasturbine for car
Šíblová, Kamila ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Škorpík, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals about the combustion turbine, design, processing and utilization. This work can be divided into three parts. The first part focuses on the theoretical knowledge gained in the field of gas turbines and their applications. The second part addresses the design of combustion turbine and its integral part. The third section describes the expected characteristics of combustion turbines. The work also includes the annex, which includes the technical documentation.
The small hydroelectric power station design
Kokeš, Petr ; Pěcha, Jiří (referee) ; Matoušek, Antonín (advisor)
The thesis deals with comprehensive design of the small hydroelectric power station in the particular site. There is the site description in the first part followed by evaluation of the hydroenergetic capacity of the watercourse and description of the inlet building and piping. Building and machinery part of the turbine hall is described in the next part. The electric part of the power station is worked up to wider scope and includes hydroalternator, switchgears incl. power for self-consumption, electric protections, cabling, transformer substation and high voltage inlet line. There is a description of the control system in the next part and economical evaluation of the investment is at the end.
