Use of Supported Employment by People with Health and Social Disability

I have focused my bachelor work from the theoretical and practical aspects to the problems of employment of people with health handicap and I have pointed out one of possible solutions - supported employment. The first (theoretical) part of my work describes the conditions of handicapped people on the labour market and the state measures in this area. Further I present the quite new service - supported employment, which helps people with health or other handicap to find and keep the suitable job. The second (practical) part of this work is devoted to the analysis of supported employment; there have been done two researches. The first research has been made in the agencies of supported employment and followed the position of people with health handicap on the labour market {--} seen from side of agencies. The goal of the second research was to find out the efficiency of activities of Agency of supported employment Ledovec {--} Rokycany, the research has been done among the agency clients.
Group Advisory for Individuals With Disability {--} Job Clubs

I have been working for more than three years in o. s. Asistence as a lecturer of group advisory meetings called Job Clubs. The objective of the presented thesis is to evaluate the importance and the key benefits of the group meetings for the clients. The thesis covers the theme of group advisory for certain job seekers with disability. The theoretical part describes the target group of individuals with physical or combined disabilities, the attitude of the society towards employment of people with disabilities, the importance of work for an individual, the issue of supported employment, group social work as well as Job Clubs. The research part of the thesis describes the qualitative research aimed at identifying and describing the benefits of Job Clubs for individuals with physical and combined disabilities in improving their employability. The research was carried out in o. s. Asistence from December 2007 to April 2008 using the structured interview methodology. Two groups of respondents were interviewed. The first one included 18 Job Club participants, the second one comprised of 6 Job Club lecturers. Information gathered in the research will be used by o. s. Asistence to improve the service. The research results underscore the importance and benefits of the group advisory for individuals with various disabilities. The thesis may also serve as a manual for future Job Club lecturers and to point out the importance of employing people with disability in the open labour market.
The Comparison of forms of institutional care for the mentally disabled regarding the quality of life of clients - in Institute of Social services in Slatiňany.

In the last time the people who are in some way disadvantaged are more considered than before. To insist on common human rights observacing, veneration of person as a human creature, freedom and equal opportunities between people in the community are the trends of the last years. After the Czech republic admission to European Union the social sphere began to develop and regenerate. In the face of some impediments and problems we can say that the society at the threshold of the 21st century has made first short steps to successful integration of handicapped people into the majority society. The goal of my Bachelor thesis is the view of the development of the insitution care in the Czech republic. I focused on one of the largest Czech institutions and it is the Institute of Social Services in Slatiňany. This organization passed by several phases {--} from classical, traditional institutional care to building the living in four family houses that work on principle of the family care.
Work conditions of people with mental disability living in institutional care

The goal of my bachelor thesis on a topic: ``Work conditions of people with mental disability living in institutional care{\crqq} was to map this situation in residence social care institutions for people with mental disability in South Bohemia region. The goal was achieved. Contemporary world trends in care for people with mental disability prefer to class employment opportunities into the area of educational occupation in social care institutions. The problem of employment is one of the most serious questions regarding people with mental disability. A fulfillment on a labor market influences several factors in their lives. It is not only the economic situation and social statute but also self-realization. There are several forms of occupational and social fulfillment for people who are disadvantaged on labor market. These are supported employment, protected jobs or protected workshops. For achievement of the goal of the thesis a method of qualitative research, technique of structured interview with open questions was used. First target group were employees of residence social care institutions for people with mental disability in South Bohemia region. Second target group were employees from organizations dealing with supported employment in South Bohemia region. From the results of the thesis is clear that the institutions and organizations are interested in occupational fulfillment of their clients. They are trying to create jobs. But the supply is still insufficient. In connection with this thesis we can set following research questions. 1. In what direction will be a progress in attitudes of our society about the problems of employing people with mental disability in the meaning of financial, legislative and social securing of the problems? 2. Whether the employment of people with mental disability will be a part of companies{\crq} strategy (within company philanthropy)? The thesis should help to compare the situation of given problems in each residence social care institutions in South Bohemia region.
Vocational rehabilitation and supported employment of people with disabilities in the Czech Republic

The thesis is focused on the position of people with disabilities on the labour market in the Czech Republic, on the received arrangements for support of their employment and on their possibilities to get a job. The first part deals with characteristics of the present situation of disabled people on the labour market and with specification of various factors, which can influence their employment. The next part is focused on the supported employment service, which helps disadvantaged people on the labour market, especially people with disabilities, on the principles and advantages of this service and also on the comparison of the Czech experiences with experiences of the chosen European union countries. Only the nongovernmental non-profit organizations so far offer the supported employment service in the Czech Republic and that is why the following part discusses the topic of this organizations and their financing, especially funding from EU structural funds, which are the most important source of money for most of the mentioned organizations. The final part deals with the incentives, which can lead employers to employ the person with disability.
