The influence of cultural differences on business co-operation between the Czech Republic and Russia

The bachelor work deals with the cultural differences between the Czech Republic and Russia and their impact on mutual business co-operation. At first, the general characteristics of Russia and its international relations are described. The following is an explanation of the concept of culture, compared to CR and RF on the basis of cultural dimensions of Geert Hofstede and getting to know the specifics of Russian culture, business etiquette and Russian trade negotiations. The conclusion is devoted to his own research, which summarizes the opinions and views of each other Russians and the Czechs themselves.

Islam in the politics of Arabian countries, culturally historical context. A case study: Saudi Arabia

This bachelor thesis deals with Islam in the politics of Arabian countries and with its culturally historical context. A case study is concerned with Saudi Arabia. As far as historical context is concerned, the thesis focuses on the territory of The Arabian peninsula, especially. The aim of the thesis is to find out, how Islam influenced a political organization in the individual state units from the time of the prophet Mohammed to the fall of the Ottoman Empire and how Islam influences a political organization of Saudi Arabia today. The thesis divides into three parts. The first part of the thesis devotes to historical context of Islam. A second part of the thesis deals with Islamic culture including its duties and practices, Islamic law sharia or cultural dimensions of Arabian world according to the studies of Geert Hofstede. The last part of the thesis is the case study.

The comparison of approaches to analisis on the value system of russian culture

The thesis deals with the cultural value system of Russia from the point of view of two experts - Hofstede and Inglehart. First part of the thesis explains methods that are used in the each of approaches. It gives brief explanation of cultural dimensions according to which the value system of the country is made up. Theoretical outlook is used in the next part for the practical application of dimensions on the russian culture. The aim of the thesis is to compare two mentioned approaches and their results given about the value system of russian culture.

Denmark and its cultural and business specifics

The thesis provides an insight into Danish culture and society. First chapter is dealing with the general characteristics of Denmark and its economic situation. Furthermore, it includes brief history. Following chapter introduces Danish culture and the values of the society. The cultural standards are divided into cultural dimensions, introduced by Hofstede, and compared to the Czech cultural standards. Danish business culture as well as business negotiation style is subject to third chapter. The chapter also provides information about consumer behaviour in Denmark. The last chapter introduces the results of a survey made.

Corporate culture in the multicultural company: SAP AG

Práce se zabývá problematikou firemní kultury v prostředí nadnárodní společnosti. V teoretické části se čtenáři seznámí s pojmy jako kultura, národní a firemní kultura. Důraz je zde kladen především na různá pojetí konceptu kulturních dimenzí, kde je vyzdvihnuto dílo Geerta Hofstedeho. Praktická část aplikuje získané znalosti na příkladu německé společnosti SAP AG a jejího administrativního centra SAP BSCE Prague. Tato část je obohacena aktuálním průzkumem mezi spolupracovníky na téma firemní kultura.
