Reflections on the crisis of authority in terms of philosophy of education.

The thesis analyzes the crisis of authority in education. The first part deals with an analysis of the contemporary concept of authority; the definition of dimensions, legitimacy, power, bureaucracy, charisma, obedience to authority, authoritarianism, and the definition of the crisis of authority in society. The second part evaluates the knowledge, defines crisis of authority in education, analyses the roots of this crisis, and offers a solution. The final part deals with the definition of animation as a third dimension of education and defines its potential benefits in the issue of crisis of autority.

Czech governmental legislative planning in the years 1998-2002

The aim of the study was to reveal the degree to which government legislative planning fulfilled the following coordinative tasks: distributing legislative tasks and establishing a timetable for their completion; balancing political interests and transforming the legal code during harmonising Czech law with ES law and reforming the Czech legal code. This empirical study has an investigative character. It reconstructs the process of drawing up the legislative plans (1998ů2002), the preparation of the new legislative plan (the remainder of 2002) and the outlook for the future (2003ů2006).

Corporatization and outsourcing - ways to more effective public sector?

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to introduce specific problems which occur in the management of public sector organizations. We are going to compare distinct motivational factors that are typical both for managers and employees in civil offices and private companies. We will closely look at the method of corporatization, which brings managerial elements from private to public sector. Our next objective is to analyse outsourcing and his limits. Practical part of the work will focus on the results which were achieved by corporatization in Canadian public sector. Further we will evaluate the consequences of outsourcing on the example of urban mass transportation in Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic. We will try to show the possibilities of cooperation between the city and private firm as business partners.
The Business Environment in the Czech Republic - the Greatest Weaknesses

This Bachelor thesis identifies and analyzes the greatest weaknesses of the business environment in the Czech Republic from the point of view of both the Czech entrepreneurs and an international comparison. We concluded that the system of taxation proves to be excessively demanding and so is the level of administration required that has an adverse effect on the life of the entreprise. The continuous improvements made on the side of public affairs administration and the introduction of electronic communication with the private sector should guarantee better results. The level of corruption perceived remains high and the Czech government increases the attention paid to this issue. Finally, the current economic crisis may change the features of the Czech labour market that can be characterized by its rigidity due to resctrictive labour regulations and low mobility and non-correspondence of qualifications.
The Business Environment in CR - The Main Problems

The goal of this thesis is an analysis and a description of the main problems of the business environment in the Czech republic. At the beginning of this thesis there is an analysis of a business environment and an identification of the main problems in CR based on the results from various yearbooks. In the second chapter there is a description of these problems and their solution. The third chapter describes the consequences of the world economic crisis on the Czech business environment.
Analysis of macroeconomic and institutional evolution in New Zealand and the Kingdom of Sweden

The main objective of this thesis is macroeconomic and institutional comparison of New Zealand and the Kingdom of Sweden. These countries were forced to undergo radical institutional changes in the 80's and at the beginning of the 90's because of critical economic situation and because of unsustainable condition of their public finances. In the first chapter of my thesis I deal with the public finance theory, with acting of bureaucracy in public sector and with the institutional economy. In the second chapter I compare conditions before the reform, the reform steps in these countries, the evolution after the reform was done and their economic situation today.
Evidence Based Policy

This thesis refers to the Evidence Based Policy and Regulatory Impact Analysis. Both of them are important instruments for creating the economic policy. Evidence based policy is based on the collection and evaluation of the relevant data concerning the realization of either government or non-government programs. There are different methods for evaluating. Methods for the evaluation and the process of the evaluation are contained in the first part of this thesis. The second part is related to Regulatory Impact Analysis, which is linked to the production of the better regulation. Evolution of the RIA in the European union and Great Britain, analysis of the quality of the RIA and assessment of the implementation of the RIA into the legislative procedure is the main body of this thesis. The third part is dedicated to the RIA in the Czech Republic. The integration of the RIA into the legislation and the rules for the assessment of the impacts caused by the regulation are described in this part. This part also includes several RIAs analysis. The weak side of the RIA is described as well in the last part.
Banality of Evil and the Holocaust

The thesis "Banality of Evil and the Holocaust" deals with the phenomenon of banal evil in the context of the Nazi Holocaust. The first part of the paper refers to the theoretical aspects of this phenomenon; the second part applies this theory to the occurrence of the Holocaust offers concrete examples. The paper aims to offer answers to the following questions: "Does banal evil exist in our world today?", "Was the Holocaust a unique event?", "Who might tend to become a murderer?". The author concludes that banal evil exists at the present time and also states the conditions of its existence and prevention. Furthermore, the author substantiates the repeatability of holocaust and, as a consequence, its non-unique character. The author comes also to the conclusion, that anyone can become a murderer, even if he does not personally commit a killing. The contribution of the thesis is to set up an integral vision on the theory of banal evil, along with a supplementary analysis of the Holocaust from this theoretical perspective. The paper also intends to establish a new conception of the Holocaust, and its perpetrators as rationally acting individuals.
