THE QUALITATIVE SEASONAL CHANGES OF THE HORSEŚ HAIR
KUBARTOVÁ, Jana
The result of this work was to find out the changes between the summer and the winter horse{\crq}s coat (the length, the thickness and the density). According to the year season, the way of stabling, the sex and the age. The comparison measured five different body parts in winter and in summer. The samples were taken during 24 months from 44 horses every two months. Each sample contained 100 hairs per horse. The samples were taken from the neck. The review of the summer and the winter coat was made of five different body parts {--} the neck, the shoulder blades, the stomach, the saddle and the hip joint. The hair length was measured by the slide rule. The measuring instrument Lanier, which was 500 bigger. The hair number per 1 cm{$^2$} gave the coat thickness.

Media image of Czech and France politics
Serbusová, Monika ; Zbořil, Zdenek (advisor) ; Fišerová, Michaela (referee)
The hypothesis of this diploma thesis is that the French and Czech media informed differently about their domestic political situation as well as about political situation of the other country. This should be in accordance to theories of Michel Foucault and Roland Barthes, concerning language as a tool of power. Are media acting like an instrument of power of their own countries? The research in this thesis is based on qualitative content analysis of relevant texts. Content analysis is complemented by analysis of the accompanying photos. Texts and images are taken from selected Czech and French newspapers (such as Le Monde, Le Figaro, L'Equipe, Libération, Lidove noviny, Pravo, Mlada fronta Dnes), which appeared during the Czech presidency of the European Union. The work focuses on news, comments and analysis articles. These sources are searched for statements that are calling attention to the specific meanings of the meanings of common, whether the statements of facts, or expressive. Statements are analysed not only in terms of their frequency, but in particular as a meaning system.

Characterisation of alcoholic beverages by means of spectrospic methods
Fajtl, Zdeněk ; Omelka, Ladislav (referee) ; Polovka, Martin (advisor)
The bachelor’s project is focused on the problem of determination of thermo-oxidative stability of mixed Radler - type drinks with low alcohol content. The project consists of both, theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part describes the basic technological procedures used in the production of lager-type beer and also mixed drinks of Radler type. It also deals with the issue of antioxidants and/or oxidative processes with specific focus on beer and its components. The author also pays attention to spectroscopic methods, which are recently extensively applied to characterize different qualitative and quantitative parameters of foods; predominantly UV-VIS, IR and EPR spectroscopy. These methods were chosen with respect to the topic being studied. In the experimental part, the application of EPR spectroscopy and spin traps methods for the characterization of thermo-oxidative stability of the selected group of commercially available samples of Radler-type beer is presented. The values of the induction periods which were taken as a measure of thermo-oxidative stability, are compared, both for the group of Radler-type beers under study and for the commercially available samples of typical lager-type beers of identical producers, which were taken as for reference.

Assessmant of surfactants levels in waters
Zajícová, Markéta ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (referee) ; Vávrová, Milada (advisor)
The present Bachelor Thesis deals with problem of water contamination by synthetic surfactants. Surfactants represent the main component of washing and cleaning agents, from which they enter waste waters. The goal of Thesis was to monitor and evaluate volume of surfactants in waste waters from waste water treatment plant VFU Brno. Samples were being taken in the course of 7 days and we have monitored volume of anionic and cationic tensides in samples from influent and effluent stream of waste water treatment plant. For qualitative and quantitative determination were used mobile analytic measurement devices with photometric detection by company Merck. Results were processed and interpreted in data evaluation section in the end of this Bachelor Thesis.

The effect of abdominal massage on constipation in the elderly long term bedridden
TRSKOVÁ, Miroslava
This thesis deals with problems of constipation for long-term bedridden seniors. The aim of this study was to explore the possibilities of influencing constipation by abdominal massage with long-term bedridden and determine if it will have effect on the amount used laxatives for these seniors. In theoretical part of the thesis is briefly described the anatomy and physiology of the colon and small intestine, anatomy of abdominal press, disciplines related to the seniors, constipation and tests to check HSSP according to Kolář, tests shortened muscles on DKK according to Janda, tests on the weakened abdominal muscles and on DKK according to Janda, breathing stereotype according to Kolář and test position on four according to Kolář. The last chapter is about the massage. To realize the objectives was used qualitative research, which was prepared in the form of case reports. Were studied 4 long-term bedridden seniors - men who suffer constipation. Patients were taken a medical history, was carried out input and output kinesiology analysis. The effect of treatment was evaluated using the so called defecation calendars, in which patients recorded use of laxatives and stool on the relevant date of the month. This calendar respondents received a month before starting therapy, in order to compare stool frequency and amount of laxatives. Therapy was carried out 3 times a week for about 20 minutes for 10 weeks, each proband completed 30 therapies. Therapy was performed at home of probands where they felt comfortable and safe. During the research I tried to find out if abdominal massage will affect constipation at long-term bedridden seniors and that is thanks to it can be used to reduce the amount of laxatives. From the research can be observed positive effects of therapy for all respondents. Probands did not feel only physical relief but also psychological. Use of abdominal massage has managed to reduce the amount of laxatives in all probands. This thesis can be used by physiotherapists or nursing staff, especially in retirement home, departments of aftercare or as autotherapy, not only for long-term bedridden seniors.

Finding reasons why young people attend tea rooms.
VYTERNOVÁ, Lenka
This thesis elaborates the reasons why young people attend tearooms in their leisure time in the area of the South Bohemia. The first part indicates the ideas, explains what the tearoom is and how it is seen from different points of view (historical, spiritual and pedagogical). The other part contains the qualitative research that was taken in six tearooms in the area of the South Bohemia. The topic, methodology, progress and results are described there. The result of the research affirmed that young people attend tearooms due to original background, meeting new friends and being far from everyday life.

Analysis of natural organic dyes and pigments by mass spectrometry
Stýblová, Marie ; Hrdličková Kučková, Štěpánka (advisor) ; Čapek Adamec, Martin (referee)
This thesis named "Analysis of natural organic dyes and pigments by mass spectrometry" investigates the identification of selected natural organic dyes and pigments by qualitative Laser Desorption/Ionisation - Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry analysis (LDI-TOF MS). The advantage of LDI-TOF MS method is its quick and reliable identification of low molecular weight material without preparatory chemical or time-consuming modification of samples. This method can be used for the analysis of works of art or for verifying their authenticity thanks to requiring only a little amount of sample. The LDI-TOF MS was tested on 19 organic dyes and pigments (e.g. alizarin, apigenin, baicalein, flavone, xanthone, tannic acid), four exemplarily prepared lakes (alizarin, purpurin, chrysin a quercetin lakes) and lakes mixed with organic binding media. The method was also successfully applied to two samples of blue color that were taken from Josef Čapek's painting called 'Procházka' (The Walk), that was dating back to 1936.

Experimental study of alkali-silica reactivity of volcanic rocks
Seidlová, Zuzana ; Přikryl, Richard (advisor) ; Vavro, Martin (referee)
(AJ) Even today, alkali-silica reaction is a significant problem in concrete-making industry. It was first described in 1940 by Stanton and since then the study of alkali-silica reaction of aggregates has proceeded notably. Despite these findings, not everything has been resolved and not all the causes and consequences of this reaction are known. To detect the alkali-silica reaction in the aggregates many methods are used, such as petrographic methods, chemical methods, and expansion tests, which examine the expansion of concrete due to the reactivity of aggregates. Petrographic methods evaluate qualitative and quantitative characteristics of aggregates but can not guarantee whether they still do not cause the reaction. Chemical tests and expansion tests provide so- called potential response (non-reactive, reactive and potentially reactive aggregates), but even they have their errors and can not be taken as a 100% indicator of the presence of alkali-silica reaction of aggregates. The thesis describes the general characteristics of alkali-silica reaction of aggregates, the mechanisms and the factors influencing its formation. It describes the fraction of the concrete in which some volcanic rocks have been used, and which are in some works identified as potentially reactive by the alkali-silica...
