Study of lubrication films formation under starved lubrication conditions
Košťál, David ; Hartl, Martin (referee) ; Křupka, Ivan (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to reveal production mechanisms of lubrication films between non-conformal surfaces in situations, when is not possible to designate lubrication regime as fully flooded elastohydrodynamic contact. Under certain conditions of lubrication volume, rolling speeds, temperatures, lubrication properties or loads could lubrication film decrease under values determined by fully flooded formulas. This regime is designated as starvation at it includes risk of increased wear. In this thesis the methodology and the new simulator of starving contact are described. Obtained film thickness results are compared with existing numerical models.
Stand for analysis of device to lubrication of railway vehicles flanges
Štěnička, Petr ; Šindelář, Martin (referee) ; Nevrlý, Josef (advisor)
This work deals with construction of an experimental measuring stand. This stand will be used for research focused on wheel flange lubrication improvement. The construction is based on wheel flange lubrication system Tribotec OK-02. First part treats of rail vehicle dynamics and wheel flange lubrication problematics, second part describes construction itself.
Effect of surface texturing on starved contact
Jordán, Jakub ; Náhlík, Luboš (referee) ; Křupka, Ivan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the effects surface texturing on starved contact. Experimental verification was realized on apparatus simulating contact between a steel ball and glass disc using colorimetric interferometry and high-speed camera. The work deals with lubrication regimes, problems with starved contacts and surface texturing which can reduce effects of starvation on non-conformal surface contacts.
Study of behaviour of EHD lubricated contact of machine parts within non-smooth surfaces
Zapletal, Lukáš ; Maňas, Pavel (referee) ; Vaverka, Michal (advisor)
Master’s thesis deals with development of software application to calculate contact pressure in eleastohydrodynamic lubricated contact in order to use previously obtained data of the lubricating film thickness. The introduction contains a short overview of methods used for the study of film thickness and contact pressure. Custom work includes a contact pressure solution derived from a film thickness, a description of the developed software and analysis of algorithms used for its compilation. The last part deals with the verification of algorithm, application of software for calculating the contact pressure on the rough surface and analysis of the results. The conclusion includes a summary and possible application of software in practice.
User interface design of software application for simulation of EHD problems
Sýkora, Ota ; Poliščuk, Radek (referee) ; Ficza, Ildikó (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design and implementation of user interface of software application for simulation of elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) problems. The first part of the thesis briefly reviews EHL simulations and describes the numerical method used for the application. The second part of the thesis provides an introduction into graphical user interfaces and describes the design and implemenation of the actual application in Qt Creator.
Design of Tribometer for the Study of Wear Efects
Tatíček, Jiří ; Košťál, David (referee) ; Omasta, Milan (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis is focused on design of tribometer to simulate wear real bodies and simultaneously to study the effect of wear on the lubricating film by using an optical interference method. In thesis are introduced the most widely used design of experimental equipments and on the basis of them are developed various design options. From them is subsequently selected the optimal variant. The output of this thesis are the production drawings.
Design of clamping fixture for ball and spherical-roller speciments
Vodrada, Tomáš ; Ali, Fadi (referee) ; Zimmerman, Martin (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with engineering design of positioning and loading part of experimental apparatus that is meant for studying of rheological properties of lubricants in VUT Brno. The thesis contains a brief summary of devices designed up to now including short descriptions of their function, engineering requirements, designs of constructional variations and descriptions of parts of designed device.
Design of impact microviscometer
Nepovím, Radovan ; Svoboda, Petr (referee) ; Hartl, Martin (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with engineering design of mechanical parts of impact microviscometer. Impact microviscometer is intended for educational tool for the study of rheological properties of lubricants in the laboratory in VUT Brno. The bachelor contains a brief summary has designed equipment and measuring methods used, restrictions of engineered apparatus, designs of constructional variation and description of constructional parts of the apparatus.
Possibilities of loading contact at tribological simulator.
Brada, Karel ; Koutný, Daniel (referee) ; Medlík, Jan (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis were discussed different possibilities of loading used by significant authors during the second half of the twentieth century in experimental studies of the elastohydrodynamic lubrication. Loading by weight through disc, weight through ball, spring, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrodynamic, and through the ball shaft has been described. Advantages and disadvantages of the loading possibilities were discussed along with their eventual application on the experimental apparatus situated at the Institute of Machine Design, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Brno University of Technology.
Experimental study of lubricant films in contact of machine parts
Kučera, Ondřej ; Křupka, Ivan (referee) ; Vaverka, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the description of methods for experimantal study of lubrication films in contact of machine parts, particularly for non-conformal surfaces, for which elastohydrodynamic and mixed of lubrication is typical. The methods are devided according to measured quantity into the methods for film thickness measurement, contact pressure measurement and temperature measurement. It was described the principle of these methods, the equipment, application and characteristics. Finally, evaluation of current status and further development are included.
