Protection of personal rights of individual in mass media
Knytlová, Kateřina ; Švestka, Jiří (advisor) ; Salač, Josef (referee)
11. Abstract in English This Master Thesis refers to the protection of personal rights of the individual in mass media. The main purpose is to analyse Czech legal regulations regarding this matter and to assess if the level of judicial remedy for the protection of personal rights is sufficient and appropriate. This thesis is focused on the collision of two fundamental rights, namely the right to protection of personal rights and that of freedom of speech and expression. Because of the growing influence of mass media, these rights are frequently at the centre of public debate and issues. The principal problem is which right should be prioritized. Both of them are established as fundamental human rights at the constitutional level therefore enjoy the same degree of protection. Attention is also paid to Spanish legal regulations of protection of personal rights of the individual in mass media. The important differences between the Czech and Spanish legal systems are pointed out throughout the whole paper. The thesis is composed of seven chapters. The first chapter is introductory. Chapter two deals with the protection of personal rights in general and explains this concept while enumerating law sources. Chapter three describes the protection of personal rights of the individual in mass media. It elaborates on...

Černý, Jiří ; Štenglová, Ivanka (advisor) ; Oehm, Jaroslav (referee)
This thesis deals with competencies of the General Meeting of a limited liability company in the Czech legal order. At the first place its aim is to define the term competencies of the General Meeting. The next main task is an in-depth analysis of each issue that falls within the competencies. The attention is concentrated predominately on how decisions about the issues concern the General Meeting as the highest body of the limited liability company, i.e. which requirements, procedures and limitations have to be complied with according to the law. The intent is to point out all the areas within the subject matter of this thesis that are ambiguous or the areas without any consistent view on them for any reason including providing with my own commentary or opinion of a possible solution. The essential part of the thesis is an analysis of a current practice of higher courts of the Czech Republic related to the subject matter of the thesis. The purpose of the first chapter is to introduce briefly the issue of the competencies of the General meeting to the reader. Its content is focused mostly on determination of a position of the General Meeting within the limited liability company comparing to the other bodies of the company. The second chapter is concentrated on defining the term competence, the...

Peer To Peer Component Framework
Klačko, Tomáš ; Šerý, Ondřej (referee) ; Tůma, Petr (advisor)
The Peer To Peer Component Framework is a software framework that allows components to be instantiated on network nodes that satisfy required runtime conditions at the time of their instantiation. The thesis presents the Framework design together with its prototype implementation. From the Framework's point of view, a component is a piece of executable software. Therefore the instantiation of a component on a network node constitutes a remote code execution, which is a security issue. Because the aim of the Framework is to be practically usefull, it provides a way to use existing security software for this matter. Above all, the Framework design requirements and its prototype implementation are driven by use cases. The two main use cases are also presented in the thesis.

Sentinel lymph node biopsy has become an importatnt tool for axillary lymph node staging in women with early-stage breast cancer. The sentinel node (SN), "guardian node," is the first node that drains the tumor. It is assumed that this node is the first location to which the tumor spreads by lymphatics. In certain cases, more of these nodes may be present. In breast cancer, the sentinel node is usually found in the axilla, although in a small percentage of cases it can be present wherever in the lymphatic system of the breast. The procedure is associated with much less morbidity than axillary dissection, and it has become the axillary staging procedure of choice for many surgeons. It appears that blue dye or radiocolloid, or both, may be used to identify the sentinel node effectively. A variety of injection techniques have been verified succesfully, and many factors previously thoughtto affect the accuracy of the procedure have been shown to be of limited signficance. The indications for the procedureare expanding, and the histopathological evaluation of the sentinel node have been clarified. The positive result of imunohistochemical evaluation of the sentinel node have prognostic significance and should alter the therapy. The aim of the model phase was to test if the location of the tumor and its sentinel...

Essays on Monetary Policy and Estimation of DSGE Models
Rychalovska, Yuliya ; Slobodyan, Sergey (advisor) ; Žák, Milan (referee) ; Hlédik, Tibor (referee)
The thesis is motivated by current practice of policy conduct implemented by many monetary institutions. In particular, a new operational framework, inflation targeting, has been introduced by the most advanced central banks. In addition, DSGE models became widely used for systematic evaluation of macroeconomic effects of monetary policy and forecasting. In the first chapter of the thesis, I assess possible risks and challenges of implementing inflation targeting strategy in more complicated, but at the same time more realistic, DSGE model economies. I focus on analysis of optimal monetary policy and welfare in a DSGE model of a small open economy with multiple domestic sectors, which have different structural characteristics. The findings suggest that openness to trade as well as sector-specific features do matter for monetary policy design thus generating important implications for optimal stabilization objectives and social welfare. The ranking of simple rules indicates that flexible CPI targeting regime is able to closely replicate the optimal solution and outperform the policy of domestic inflation stabilization. Finally, the sensitivity analysis demonstrates that the presence of sectoral asymmetries may alter the relative performance of alternative policy rules. The second part of the thesis...

Arbitration procedure in the Czech Republic
Veselý, Jan ; Smolík, Petr (advisor) ; Zoulík, František (referee)
61 Resumé Arbitration Proceedings in the Czech Republic Arbitration proceedings represent an out-of-court method of settlement of property disputes. It allows the parties that their dispute can be heard and decided before arbitrators or a permanent arbitration court. The basic characteristic features of the arbitration proceedings consist in particular in their promptness, certain informality and in the fact that the dispute is heard and decided in a single instance. The result of the arbitration proceedings consists usually in rendering an arbitral award having the effect of a final and conclusive judicial decision granted by the law. The basic legal regulation of the arbitration proceedings in the Czech Republic is provided by Act No. 216/1994 Coll., on Arbitration and Enforcement of Arbitral awards ("Arbitration Act"). Only property-related disputes may be heard and decided in the arbitration proceedings, namely provided that such a dispute would otherwise fall within the jurisdiction of the courts of general jurisdiction and that the parties could resolve the subject-matter of such a dispute by conciliation. From the subject-matter of the arbitration proceedings, the Arbitration Act expressly excludes disputes resulting from bankruptcy or composition proceedings, disputes over enforcement of decisions...

Optimization of methods for evaluation of antimicrobial activity of selected active matters against chosen spectrum of bacterial pathogens
BRZÁKOVÁ, Michaela
The bachelor thesis deals with optimalization of selected methods (e.g. evaluation of bacterial suspension concentration, Resazurin antibacterial assay) needed for evaluation of active substances antibacterial activity against pathogens Pectobacterium carotovorum, Pseudomonas syringae and Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis. Literature review contains information about potato tubers proteins, especially proteins with antibacterial activities, as well as a brief overview of mechanisms of action of plant defense system against pathogenic microorganisms and the effect of antimicrobial substances on bacterial pathogens. The experimental part deals with optimalization of methods needed for evaluation of antibacterial activities of selected substances. Optimized were methods of McFarland Turbidity Standards, Most-probable number method and Resazurin antibacterial assay. It was found that increase of optical density, measured by spectrometer at 620 nm, is in direct correlation with increase of bacterial suspension concentration (CFU/ml). It was identified proteins of patatin complex and protease inhibitors by using SDS-PAGE method to evaluated potato tuber proteins of variety Bella and Westamyl and also changes of molar mass of the patatin proteins in relation of their modification were evaluated. Antimicrobial activity of these proteins was verified by resazurin antibacterial assay and ability of modified proteins of cultivars Bella and Westamyl in higher concentration (10 mg/ml) to inhibit growth of bacteria Pseudomonas syringae.
