RF detection method of explosives and drugs - NQR
Motyčka, Lukáš ; ČR,, MBA - ÚPT AV (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
The thesis deals with RF spectroscopic methods, which are applicable for the detection of hazardous substances such as explosives or drugs. Particular attention is focused on promising method of nuclear quadrupole resonance. Abroad this method has recently been applied in the detection of energetic materials in hazardous locations. The cornerstone of the nuclear quadrupole resonance is to evaluate the interaction between electromagnetic radiation, in the range of medium to very short waves, and the researched substance. Observed parameter are the resonant frequencies of the substance. Spectral analysis of signal is used for their evaluation. Resonant frequencies are always typical for the crystalline structure, therefore every explosive or drug is clearly identifiable by this method.
Analytical methods applied for the evaluation of environmental contamination by uranium ore mining
Bílek, Jiří ; Holubová, Zuzana (referee) ; Čáslavský, Josef (advisor)
This thesis deals with the testing procedures used in monitoring of environmental contamination after uranium ore mining in the uranium mine in Dolní Rožínka. It deals with the determination of radioactive elements radium, uranium and radon. The methods used for the determination of radioactive elements in mine laboratory in Dolní Rožínka are described. The thesis also mentions other applicable methods for determination of uranium. The metods of determination of manganese, iron and other metallic elements are also summarized in brief.The values of concentrations of monitored analytes in selected locations are presented at the end of the thesis. These values, which were provided by laboratories in Dolní Rožínka, are valid for 2010.

Muscotoxins: novel cytotoxic undecapeptides with unique structural elements and mechanism of action, isolated from soil cyanobacterium \kur{Nostoc muscorum}
TOMEK, Petr
This project was focused on development of extraction and purification protocol for novel cytotoxic compound isolated from soil cyanobacterium Nostoc muscorum which would allow to determine its molecular structure via NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) and MS (mass spectrometry) techniques. Purified cytotoxin was subjected to several biochemical and microscopical experiments in order to assess its toxicological parameters, determine the mechanism of action and evaluate potential application in biotechnology or pharmacy.
Surfactant Dissolution Using High Pressure Micromixer In-line Spectrometry at Pilot Scale Flow Rates
Křišťál, Jiří ; Simoncelli, A.
We report that the highly viscous paste can be dissolved very quickly and efficiently in microSAR mixers with very low pressure losses. Inline measurements, including spectroscopy, in the HP rigs was easily organized by reapplication of the FMU elements.
Physical modellling of air pollutant distribution by laser photoacoustic spectrometry in a wind tunnel
Civiš, S. ; Zelinger, Z. ; Jaňour, Zbyněk
In this work we used the laser photoacoustic detectiopn as an analytical tool for monitoring methanol concentration in a wind tunnel. Methanol was chosen as a tracer substance simulating the pollutants. A simple model of a street canyon together with permeation source of methanol vapour was used in various measurements of cross-section profiles. The distribution an concentration of simulated air pollutions has been studied in the street canyon model as a function of the wind velocity.

Asessment of the Relation between the Composition of Aerosols of Solids in Air and Their Sources on Selected Places in Prague
Tydlitát, Vratislav ; Pekárek, Vladimír ; Šyc, Michal ; Vosecký, Martin
Results of the twentyfour hour sampling of aerosols at two posts in Prague: on a street with large traffic and at a post near to cement plant are presented. In aerosols PM10 a PM2,5 adsorbed from 500 to 1000 m3 of air (20 to 40 mg) were determined contents of As,Cd, Cr,Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, Al, Ca, Fe, K, Mg, Na, Zn by the method of atomic absorption spectrometry. From x-ray fluorescence analyze were assesed contents of Si, S and Cl.. The winter traffic is the source of aerosol wth content of NaCl and SiO2 , Fe, Ca. In the vicinity of cement plant the aerosol contents elements, which are in cement and elements fom combustion: K, Ca, Al and S.
