This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of business relation receivables and applies theoretical knowledge to the selected capital company. Based on the results of selected indicators of financial analysis and the analysis of the current state of overdue receivables, solutions are put forward. These solutions should contribute to streamline the receivables management system, and thus eliminate the proportion of problematic receivables in the analysed company.

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of receivables management in the business corporation, especially those receivables that already have elapsed maturity. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis characterizes primarily basic concepts in the area of receivables for easier understanding of the issue. The practical part of the bachelor thesis is devoted to the analysis of receivables in individual years of the selected business company and to the overview of the receivables management of given business company.

This bachelor thesis is focused on an analysis of receivables of a chosen company which is focused on the production of dairy products and has an annual turnover of up to 1,5 billion. The main goal is to evaluate the significance of this tax item for the company and financial statements. All related terms are defined and the theoretical process of receivables management is explained, including their monitoring and possible recovery. The analysis is carried out the data of the financial statements for the period 2019-2022. The entire management process from the creation of the receivables to its termination is monitored. Based on the analysis some shortcomings were identified and better receivables management model was proposed for the company's management.

The theoretical part of the thesis analyzes the theory of receivables themselves – what are they, types of receivables, receivables management, recovery of claims and financial analysis. The analytical part analyzes the business corporation according to the financial indicators of the analysis. The third part offers a possible solution to the identified problém with receivables from the analytical part and the improvement of the management of the receivables themselves.

Based on the theoretical knowledge and the analysis of the company and the analysis of the receivables management system in the company, are proposed measures to secure receivables to prevent the possible recovery of these receivables. Also are described suggestions for better corporate debt recovery procedures and improvement to internal corporate system, rules and management that will lead to a reduction in overdue trade receivables.

Receivables Management and Credit Risk in a Selected Company

The master's thesis is focused on the issue of receivables management and credit risk. The aim is to describe and evaluate the selected company's business strategy to receivables and credit risk management. Furthermore, the aim is to propose measures to improve this strategy of the company. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The analysis of the company is focused on the company's strategy in providing business loans, evaluating and monitoring the purchasers, setting their business conditions and solving problem debts. In this thesis, the current strategy of the company is evaluated, and new measures are proposed. The recommended improvements will increase the number of customers and the competitive ability of the analysed company. In the main part of the thesis, it is proposed to group together the customers of the company that share the same or similar characteristics using a cluster analysis. The implementation of such analysis can help the company to better identify its customers and consequently to provide their customers with more suitable business and credit conditions. Furthermore, a system for debt collection is proposed and an investment in a supplementary instrument to the existing accounting system is recommended. The cost of the investment is compared with the cost of the time spent generating and sending reminders. The recommended improvements will increase the number of customers and the competitive ability of the analysed company.
