The level of nursing at LTU (Long-Term Unit) in České Budějovice
SCHAFFELHOFEROVÁ, Lucie
Abstract The occupation of a nurse belongs to those most responsible, most exhausting but most humanist professions. A nurse searches, addresses problems of patients and seeks for solutions together with other health care staff. However attention has to be paid on nurses themselves, as demands on nurse profession are still growing at present, which brings higher negative stress, felt not just by nurses, but by all employees of health care facilities. The theoretical part of this thesis includes observation from the České Budějovice Hospital, general information about the profession of a nurse, like for example competences of nurses, their education or registration. The next part deals with physical as well as physical stress. The theoretical part is closed by a chapter on motivation. The research was performed in compliance with the Nursing Care Quantification Method at the After care ward of the České Budějovice Hospital. My work was aimed at finding the level of load on nurses and their subsequent performance, and assessment of the number of nursing staff missing at the 2nd after-care ward of the Hospital České Budějovice a.s. There were three hypotheses set down. Hypothesis 1 confirms that the load of a nurse of the 2nd after-care ward of Sector B of the Hospital in České Budějovice is at least 500 minutes per nurse. Hypothesis 2 confirms that the performance of a nurse of the 2nd after-care ward of Sector B of the Hospital in České Budějovice is at least 130 per cent. And Hypothesis 3 has confirmed that there should be at least three more staff members at the morning shift at the 2nd after-care ward of Sector B of the Hospital in České Budějovice. The research result show that the nurses on the after-care ward are strongly overloaded. The findings of the work will be handed over to the Nursing Care Manager of the České Budějovice Hospital as a tool for optimization of personnel policy at the after-care ward.

Differentiation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae colonies
Čáp, Michal ; Palková, Zdena (advisor) ; Pichová, Iva (referee) ; Demnerová, Kateřina (referee)
Yeast colonies are, alongside to bacterial biofilms, multicellular communities formed by unicellular microorganisms. These specific communities differ in many ways from populations cultivated in planktonic cultivations. Gradients of nutrients, metabolic by- products and other factors are formed and preserved within these structures, which provides a basis for cellular differentiation. Current literature concerning these issues with emphasis on yeast colonies and biofilms is summarised in the Introduction of this work. Section Results then describes my contribution to the knowledge on the differentiation of the colonies of Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model system for studying microbial multicellular structures. Previously described horizontal differentiation, i.e. differentiation between colony centre and margin, is further characterised with respect to ammonia signalling and stress resistance. The importance of genes conferring the cell`s oxidative stress resistance in colony differentiation was studied and it was concluded that not stress resistance but rather metabolic and other changes promoted by ammonia signal are important for colony differentiation and survival. A new type of colony differentiation - the horizontal, i.e. differentiation between upper and lower part of the colony, is...

Building a Relationship with Sapce as a Prerequisite for an Authorial Condition
Durdilová, Tereza ; KOUBOVÁ, Alice (advisor) ; CHRZ, Vladimír (referee)
In my dissertation, I? concentrate on the relationship between people and space. I? consider this relationship to be the basis of an authentic relation to a present situation, and also the condition to experience it fully in everyday life and most of all during a public performance. My dissertation is in two parts. In the first one, I? show the significance of this relationship across various fields, and introduce the genesis of my personal relationship with space. I? stress the importance of the conscious interaction with space and also the desirability to build one's? own inner space, which is necessary to reach the condition for spaciousness. I? consider this to be an essential part of psychosomatic condition as well as of the condition for public performance, which I? prove - among others - on the necessity of space for the work with breathing and voice.

Ethics in the World of Advertisement
ANTL, Pavel
The dissertation deals with the dilemma of ethics in advertisement; it is divided into six chapters. The first chapter concerns communication and advertisement{\crq}s function in it. In the second part, I focus on the targets and methods of advertisement (they can be positive and negative). I describe the following processes: influence, manipulation, persuasion, suggestion, motivation and purpose of advertisement in the sectors of the market. The third part is directed at the principles of regulation and self-regulation (I explain their differences). How does self-regulation work in practice I showed in the practical example. The fourth chapter describes the most frequently forbidden commercials and in the practical examples, I show how the consumer{\crq}s protection works. In the fifth part,. I stress the importance of media literacy and the problems in media education. In the sixth chapter I focus on the advertisements and at different attitudes and opinions related to it.

The effect of the pre-weaning play on the coping ability of piglets
Večlová, Barbora ; Chaloupková, Helena (advisor) ; Fuchs, Roman (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on animal play behaviour, it's features and factors that influence it. It also shows how play can be used as an animal welfare indicator and moreover that play may also improve welfare. Play is interesting from physiology and neurology point of view as well because it is able to trigger positive emotions. This thesis also describes the main hypotheses explaing evolutionary functions of play. The newest hypothesis claims that play may be a "training for the unexpected"(Špinka et al., 2001). Our experiments tested this hypothesis. We investigated if play of piglets before weaning could improve their coping with stress and reduce agonistic behaviour after weaning and later in life. Results show that play in an extra space before weaning does not influence pig's behaviour very much, but it seems to have some impact. Results also show other factors influencing agonistic behaviour of pigs - groupsize, gender and weight gain.

Physiotherapy in patients with hypermobility
Pinkavová, Monika ; Vondřejcová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Vítová, Eva (referee)
Title of thesis: Physiotherapy in patients with hypermobility Abstract: This work addresses problems with a joint hypermobility. It comprises of two parts. In the first part the definition of the hypermobility by different authors is reviewed, followed by a description of its forms, examination and focus of the therapy. The goal of the practical part is to perform initial physiotherapeutic examination and several tests focused on hypermobility and stress tests with three probands with the joint hypermobility. Afterwards suitable therapy is designed. It was performed for two months as an individual exercise twice a week and as a group practice twice to three times a week. The group therapy was included in the final stage of the training. After two months the examination was repeated. The results show improved movement control during the performance of the stress tests. The medial knee collapse is less pronounced. Also some of the movement stereotypes improved (e. g., movement stereotype of push ups - reduced head protraction). Key words: hypermobility, hypermobility and sport, case study, physiotherapeutic examination, therapy

Veselá, Karolína ; Wsól, Vladimír (advisor) ; Zemanová, Lucie (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biochemical Sciences University of Seville, Faculty of Pharmacy Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Candidate: Karolína Veselá Supervisors: Prof. Dr. José Luis Venero Recio, Prof. Ing. Vladimír Wsól, Ph.D Title of diploma thesis: Role of Systemic Inflammation in Parkinson's Disease. Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second most common ageing-related neurodegenerative disorder after Alzheimer's disease and the prevalence in population is increasing. The characteristic movement disorder is caused by selective dopaminergic neurons loss, while the mechanism of this neurodegeneration is not well understood. Increasing evidence points out the key role of vicious cycle of microglial overactivation and oxidative stress, while the questions "where it begins" and "how to stop it" remain without clear answers. This thesis investigates implication of peripheral inflammation as a deteriorating circumstance and possible inductor of brain inflammation and progressive dopaminergic neurodegeneration. We use mice model of Parkinson's disease employing single intraperitoneal injection of toxin N-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6- tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) that induces specific degeneration of DA neurons and in contrast to other animal...

Functional changes of postural syndrome in patients with a scar in the abdominal region
Znamenáčková, Radka ; Truc, Michal (advisor) ; Ježková, Martina (referee)
This diploma thesis brings together findings concerning the problematic of postsurgical active scars putting the stress on postsurgical abdominal scars. It deals with a patofysiology of active scars. First part summarizes case studies concerning diagnostic, manual treatment of active scar tissue and clinical importance of active scars. Second one presents examination of after-hysterectomy patients. Results suggest that active abdominal scar can disturb locomotor system function. In fact it can cause locomotor dysfunction and may contribute to painful conditions of the locomotor system. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
