Lifestyle evaluation of students of Public health protection
SCHOVÁNKOVÁ, Lenka
This thesis summarizes theoretical findings in several fields of the lifestyle. It contains basic information about nutrition, positive effects of reasonable physical activity and it points to negative consequences of smoking and alcohol consumption, effects of stress and insufficient sleep. The research part of the thesis maps the lifestyle of students in the specialization Public health protection at the Faculty of Health and Social Studies at University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. It has turned out that the students eat regularly but they do not have enough fruit and vegetables in their diet and only a small percentage of them practice regular physical activities. 52 % of the respondents are happy with their own lifestyle. When asked whether they believe that their professional specialization has affected their lifestyle, 38 % answered positively. The results of the thesis indicate how the students of Public health protection respect the principles of healthy lifestyle and whether they are content with their lifestyle.

Student's fluid intake in the Bohemia university in České Budějovice.
KUBEŠOVÁ, Nikol
In my bachelor thesis I deal with drinking regime of students from South Bohemia University. My thesis is divided to two parts. In theoretical part I process literature searches from available sources related with a given topic. I describe keeping with water in human body, after that I write about single drinks in more details. In practical part I deal with my research. In the practical part I pursue my research. The goal is to find out how university students take care of their fluid intake, whether they care for healthy fluid intake and to focus on the aspect of how often they drink alcohol, coffee and other improper fluids. For my research I have chosen three research assumptions. In the first one I assume that the respondents who receive less fluids than the adviced daily amount (2 to 3 litres) suffer more often from the symptoms of dehydration. The second assumption concerns alcohol, I assume that male students consume alcohol more often than female students. In the third assumption I have focused on the intake of coffee, whether female students consume more coffee than male students. I choose method of questioning with my own questionnaire. Answers are processed in a graph. I applied this method on students from seven different faculties from South Bohemia University in Czech Budweis. The age of students is between 19 and 23 years.

The first part characterises concepta of quality of life, pubescent, adolescent, circadian and diural rhythms. The work is focused on the temporal area of quality of life. It described the importance and quality of sleep, sleep cycles and sleep typology. The research deals with the questionnaire survey a total of 110 respondents (60 pubescent, 50 adolescents). The research method consists of a selection of questions from a standardized questionnaire circadian typology, CIT Harada, Krejčí, 2010. The data are analyzed using basic statistical methods

Changes of oribatid mite communities (Acari: Oribatida) in autochthonous spruce forests, Šumava Mountains, South Bohemia
Starý, Josef
Altogether 88 oribatid mite species were determined in extensive material sampled in 2001-2003 in five permanent plots of localities Trojmezná, Smrčina and Boubín situated in autochthonous spruce forest, Šumava Mts. An oribatid mite community with the highest species richness and the most different species composition was found on the locality Boubín. Qualitative and quantitative differences in species composition of oribatid mite communities on plot with or without spruce tree felling were no statistically significant.

Possibilities of pre-travel consultancy and specific prophylaxis of imported infectious diseases in the region of South Bohemia
RYTÍŘOVÁ, Zuzana
The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the problems of imported infectious diseases. It comprises the factors influencing their incidence and the possibilities of specific and nonspecific prophylaxis and prevention. Further on, this part focuses on chosen infectious diseases, their epidemiological and clinical characteristics and trends in incidence. These infections are divided according to possibilities of specific prophylaxis. The thesis offers an overview of the possibilities of pre-travel consultancy in the South Bohemia region. The practical part of the thesis aims at the characterization of the incidence of imported infectious diseases in the districts within the region of South Bohemia in the years 2000 ? 2010. It also presents a survey of medical facilities and other subjects providing pre-travel consultancy and specific prophylaxis in the sphere of imported infectious diseases prevention. During the monitoring period, the total number of imported diseases which occurred in the region of South Bohemia and were registered in the EPIDAT system was 351. Out of this number, 205 cases occurred in the district of České Budějovice. (Český Krumlov ? 47, Jindřichův Hradec ? 25, Písek ? 2, Prachatice ? 17, Strakonice ? 31, Tábor ? 24). The most frequent imported infections were alimentary infections (240 cases, i.e.68 %); out of this, the most frequent cases were diseases caused by Salmonella (73 cases), Shigella (71 cases) and campylobacters (42 cases). The most frequent countries of origin were Egypt (43 cases), Croatia (42 cases) and India (30 cases). The number of medical facilities and other subjects providing pre-travelling consultancy and specific prophylaxis of infectious diseases rose from nine to thirteen during the period of monitoring. Four hypotheses were determined within this thesis. Hypothesis no.1 ? during the period of monitoring the total number of imported infectious diseases increased. Hypothesis no.2 ? during the period of monitoring the total number of infectious diseases imported from exotic destinations increased. Hypothesis no. 3 ? during the period of monitoring there was an increase in the number of the facilities and other subjects providing pre-travel advice, vaccination or other specific prophylaxis. Hypothesis no. 4 ? the increasing number of medical facilities or other subjects providing pre-travel advice, vaccination or other specific prophylaxis did not influence an increase in the number of imported infectious diseases during the period of monitoring. Only hypotheses no. 3 and no. 4 were proved.

Lifestyle and Quality of Life of Long-Term Dialysis Patients
MÉSZÁROSOVÁ, Eva
The aim of my thesis was to examine the lifestyle and life quality of chronically dialysed patients. I described this wide topic from the point of view of patients, with whom I conducted interviews according to prepared questions, i.e. qualitative research. For healthcare staff providing immediate professional care in dialysis centres I used quantitative research by means of questionnaires. I processed 71 questionnaires and spoke to 12 patients in total. I found the sources in seven healthcare facilities in South and central Bohemian regions. The aim of the thesis was met. The decisive and related aspects linked to the lifestyle and life quality of chronically dialysed patients were described. During preparation of the thesis I met new aspects like the extraordinary demandingness of the work of the healthcare staff, the important influence of science on medical procedures and psychical demandingness and patience of treated patients. The research questions were answered and in the instance of ambiguousness they were deduced and statistically substantiated. Two hypotheses, namely H 1: Nurses in dialysis centres educate dialysed patients about the limitations linked to lifestyle quality and H 2: Nurses in dialysis centres adhere to the principles of specific (structured) communication have been confirmed. My work involved a proposal of an informative brochure for chronically dialysed patients, which sets the goal to inform dialysed patients optimistically, with certain hyperbole, however realistically on the endless possibilities how to use free time in the form of topics, on self-confidence strengthening and effective communication with healthcare staff.

Viral hepatitis B at i.v. drug users {--} health and social issues
SOUČKOVÁ, Iveta
The bachelor thesis has been focused on monitoring the prevalence of viral hepatitis B in the South Bohemian Region in the period from 2005 to 2009 years. Intravenous drug users are the target group since they belong to the risk group jeopardized by this infection. The thesis has got two basic parts {--} a theoretical part and a research one. The theoretical part describes not only a history of this dangerous disease and its prevalence in the world, but it also concentrates on the basic epidemiological characteristics, treatment, health as well as social and economic impacts on the whole society. In the theoretical part I drew from the available literature and from the existing legislation. An aim of the research part of the bachelor thesis was to map an incidence of viral hepatitis B in the South Bohemian Region in the period from 2005 to 2009 years at intravenous drug users. Three hypotheses were established in order to identify the objectives; it was chosen a quantitative research with a technique of a secondary data analysis from Epidat system for their confirmation or refutation. Altogether 199 electronic screening sheets of intravenous drug users reported by the Regional Public Health Watch in České Budějovice were analyzed. The research established the first hypothesis, which assumed that the overall incidence of viral hepatitis B at the intravenous users in the South Bohemian Region in the period from 2005 to 2009 years is the same, as it is in the Czech Republic. This hypothesis was confirmed. Likewise, the second hypothesis was verified; it assumed a higher prevalence rate of acute viral hepatitis B at the intravenous drug users in the South Bohemian Region in the monitored period from 2005 to 2009 years than it was the prevalence in the Czech Republic. The anticipated third hypothesis regarding an educational attainment of the intravenous drug users in the South Bohemian Region in the period from 2005 to 2009 years was, compared with the results observed in the same period in the Czech Republic, verified as well. The results can be used for a need of any further research, for professional publications and for teaching purposes.
