Specifics of working with the family of a child threatened by the parents' divorce from the view of a social worker under "OSPOD" (the authority for the social-legal protection of children) - theoretical analysis and case
BERANOVÁ, Kateřina
This thesis deals theoretically as well as in the scope of application practice with the issue of the children participation in the divorce disputes of parents as basic for the work of the social employee of an authority for the social and legal protection of children. The main target of the thesis was to describe, through the case studies, the course and specifics of the work with the family of a child endangered by the divorce of the parents from the point of view of the social employee of the authority for the social-legal protection of children (OSPOD). The partial target was, based on work with families, to formulate the recommendation for the consulting and activity of a social worker of OSPOD in the family of a child endangered by the divorce conflict of parents. In the scope of qualitative research by means of a case study I applied the method of participating observation, non-structured interview and the analysis of documents to acquire data. Based on the data acquired by these methods I made up four case studies. In three case studies, a more or less developed parental alienation syndrome, each time as a consequence of the alienation syndrome partner. In the four case studies the problems in the relation of the parent and the child after the divorce, originally interpreted by the father as the parental alienation syndrome, appeared as consequence of the non-sensitive involving of the child into the non-settled partner relationships between the parents from the part of parents and grand-parent. The work of a social employee of OSPOD in the investigated families had a consulting aspect, preventive aspect, it was done mainly on the level of individual and group interventions towards parents; that should respect and carry out the rights and duties following from the parental liability; partly the activity was carried out on the level of mediation work. Based on the comparison of individual case studies I formulated in the discussion part of the thesis the recommendation for the consulting work and activity of a social employee of OSPOD in the families of children the rights and interests of whom are endangered by the divorce dispute of parents.

SEDLÁKOVÁ, Barbora
A goal of this bachelor thesis with the topic ``Specifics of the social work with families in divorce{\crqq} is to compare a prior-to divorce, divorce, anti-divorce care in towns of České Budějovice and Prostějov and to search for state and private institutions dealing with problems of families in divorce in those localities. The thesis has been focused on the quality and availability of these services and on used methods of work with families in divorce proceedings. A partial goal of the thesis is also to ascertain views of addressed experts on an importance and quality of the family mediation in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis deals with the divorce issues. At the beginning the thesis focuses its attention on statistical data, defines the divorce and its causes, a course of divorce process, deals with an adjustment of relations for minor children after the divorce. A substantial part of the theory deals with a process of the social work with families in divorce. In that part there are described theories and methods of the social work with families in divorce, social services for families in divorce in the Czech Republic, there is described a role of the social and legal protection of children and a method of family mediation. The final part briefly introduces the issue of the parental alienation syndrome. A goal of the research part of the bachelor thesis was to compare an area of a prior-to-divorce, divorce and after-divorce care in regions of České Budějovice and Prostějov and to search for state and private institutions dealing with issues of the family in divorce in those regions. One of the goals was also to find out at what stage of the divorce these institutions attend to the families and which way they intervene in the situation. It was used a technique of half-standardized interview for the research. The research target group consisted of workers from institutions, whose focus of the professional interest is the family and children in the towns of České Budějovice and Prostějov. More detailed interviews were conducted in organizations, specialized in working with families in divorce. A result of the research shows that it is necessary to increase a number of workers attending to families in divorce, because numbers of divorced families are still growing. Due to an increase of the workforce, a quality of the offered service which is according to observed results rather good, could be improved. It was found out that the cooperation between state and private organizations works at a good level, individual institutions have information about activities of other workplaces and so they can refer clients to a professional help. Most organizations, where was the research conducted, have an aim to protect interests of the child. The most important thing for the staff of these organizations seems to be the least impair of the child´s development. They can see a roll of a mediator in divorce issue as a positive one, but they highlight the shortage of qualified mediators. To the topic of the parental alienation syndrome the workers say, that they meet it at their work. Recently manifestations of this syndrome have had more and more publicity, which fact workers do not evaluate very positively. As a result of this promotion there is increasing a number of cases, when parents feel a condemnation, even if it is not true in many cases. In practice the bachelor thesis can serve as an overview of services for families in divorce in České Budějovice and Prostějov. It can also establish priorities in the area of the divorce care and it can offer effective social measures in institutions dealing with family issues, family relationships, marital and family crises. The results can also become a basis for other studies and researches in that area.

RYSOVÁ, Zuzana
The work titled ,,Impact of marriage break-up on value orientation of children and youth{\crq}q deals with values and value system of youth, divorce of marriage, post-divorce family setup and impact of divorce on children. I have briefly discussed also issues concerning family and marriage. The purpose and aim of the work was to identify how children and youth understand and experience break-up of their parent{\crq}s marriage, how they managed to cope with this situation and if their moral development and value orientation have been affected. In relation to such objective I have brought up four hypothesis. Hypothesis H1: I assume that divorce of parents affects value scale of children and youth . Hypothesis H2: Divorce of parents predominantly evokes negative feelings, uncertainty, nostalgia. Hypothesis H3: Frustration related to family situation after divorce results in deterioration of school results of children and youth. And at the end the hypothesis H4: After divorce behavior of children and youth towards authorities and their surroundings deteriorates. I have chosen quantitative research for my work and used questioning method, questionnaire technique. The questionnaires have been designed for pupils and students of elementary and secondary schools in Písek and Strakonice. With regard to my hypothesis the research revealed interesting findings. Hypothesis H1 and H2 have been confirmed, however hypothesis H3 and H4 were negated. Therefore divorce impact on deterioration of behavior and school results of respondents has not been confirmed. The following interesting facts resulted from the research. I have found that every 4th pupil or student experienced divorce of his/her parents. The traditional post-divorce family setup still prevails, i.e. children are in the custody of their mother. Alternating or joint custody is quite exceptional as well as custody of a father. The work results are intended mainly for parents and social workers in order to understand what impact divorce may have on children and how important it is to provide them special care in these difficult times. Divorce does not necessarily need to have negative impact on children, if they do not experience hostility between parents and the post-divorce family setup is adopted to individual needs of all family members, i.e. also of children.

CHUDÁRKOVÁ, Alice
The Bachelor thesis deals with crisis situations in the lives of children and young people, as well as with organizations that help them in such situations. Its partial aim was mapping the most frequent crisis situations and finding whether the children of the city of Zlín knew where to turn in the case of need. I made use of both quantitative and qualitative methods in elaborating the thesis. The technique chosen for the quantitative research was that of a questionnaire for children and young people; as to the qualitative research of professionals from organizations, I used the technique of semi-standardized interviews. The research confirmed the hypothesis that assumed that children and young people in the city of Zlín were informed insufficiently about the possibilities of help in the case of a crisis situation. Social workers warn that primary prevention is important {--} preventive programmes at schools, in the streets and in low-threshold facilities. Organizations in the city of Zlín offer a numer of both primary and secondary preventive programmes, from spare-time activities through lectures at schools up to psychological counselling. Such programmes enable children to gain better knowledge of their rights and duties as well as to acquire certainty in case they get into a hard-to-solve life situation. The results of the research proved that there was still considerable space for the education of primary school pupils in this respekt. The results processed were passed over to the professionals from thed organizations where the interview had taken place, and further they will serve as a feedback for their work. The Bachelor thesis may serve for re-evaluation of the effectiveness of programmes for primary school pupils and lead to an increase in numbers of lectures organized for the pupils at schools.
The functionality of single - parent - divorced family in relation to a child
ELIŠKOVÁ, Zdeňka
Every man enters the marriage and founds family with the idea of undoubtebly lucky and everlasting attachment. Unfortunately, it often happens, that sooner or later, a break-up of this idea occurs. During our lives, all of us face the break-up of marriage, respectively the family from our experience or from people around. The family break-up phenomenon is largely interconnected with the disintegration of traditional society and its transformation into modern industrial society that is set up with other values, other way of life, and legitimity of its autority. If the family does not meet its main objectives, it means important risk for the man affecting his sensitive spots by its dysfunction and afunction. All the members of family, children and adults are given their home by the family. The family nowadays, however, is considerably vulnerable due to changed social situation. The growing number of single-parent families, i.e. families where mother or father themselves take care of their children, is increasing with the number of divorces. The family has as unsubstitutable role in development and children´s bringing up. Instability of family life represents a serious threat in child socialization. The family system functioning is based on personality character, especially in parents, and that is why, when one of the parents fails in his/her basic role, the whole community is severely disturbed. In this regard, it is necessary to ask a lot of questions: How do single-parent families function? Are these families functional in relation to the child? What problems do these families meet? Is it necessary to help these families and how to do it? The last investigation into functioning of families was conducted in the 1980s by means of the Questionnaire of family functionality in relation to a child by Prof. Dunovský. In my thesis I decided to test the functionality of present families, and exactly single-parent {--} divorced families, which are constantly increasing in our society. Every fourth family in the Czech Republic is reported to be single-parent family. The aim of my thesis is, therefore, the findings of functionality level of these single-parent {--} divorced families.
Opinions of children on traditional family system
KOVÁROVÁ, Michaela
Identically as in other modernised societies, the institution of a family in the Czech Republic has been undergoing such a fundamental transformation in the last fifty years that the question appears if it is possible to speak about the family in the traditional sense of word at present. At present, a traditional family has been becoming the arrangement of life only for a minority of people in the Czech Republic. More than one third of children are born outside the matrimony, many times with the unclear father statute. One half of the concluded matrimonies get divorced. It is possible to conclude that the life without a partner and children becomes more and more widespread, at the expense of traditional family. The theoretical part of work focused on the family, its definition, function, forms of partners coexistence, crises and conflicts in the family and their consequences and the disintegration of the family and its consequences. The goal of the work was to find out the opinions of children from elementary and secondary schools in České Budějovice on the traditional family system. This goal was achieved. The research was performed by means of the method of questioning performed by the technique of the questionnaire. The research complex consisted of pupils of 9th years of elementary schools and pupils of last years of secondary schools in České Budějovice. I fixed the following hypotheses for the research: {\clqq}There exist differences in opinions of pupils of 9th years of elementary schools and pupils of last years of secondary schools.``, {\clqq}Pupils of 9th years of elementary schools as well as last years of secondary schools prefer the marriage to other forms of family arrangement.``, {\clqq}Pupils of 9th years of elementary schools as well as last years of secondary schools prefer the traditional family to other forms of family arrangement.`` All the three hypotheses were confirmed by the research. The thesis aims at serving as source of information for social workers, judges, pedagogical employees, students and other persons interested in family issues.
