Trojanová, Jaroslava ; Marušák, Radek (advisor) ; Valentová, Lidmila (referee)
This diploma work is describing the today's relation of the marionette to a child. Is supposes that every relation is based upon meeting, contact, coming together, communication and empathy. And that is why the today's child does not mostly have a close relation to the marionette which was popular with the children many ten years ago. The child is deprived of a play with a marionette because it has little opportunity to play with it. It has not been given the appropriate space to playing with common objects, materials, marionettes. If the child's imagination enables to revive the object and the child acts with it in such a way that the object revives by the "life" of its own, the result of this change is that the object receives a term - the marionette. This psychic man's need to revive the material causes that the marionette has been surviving for thousands of years. The author believes that if the marionette theatre is played with the children, the rich tradition of marionette play will not cease. With respect to her specification of the marionettes she is referring to a wide offer of marionettes as creative artefacts that the children can create themselves and that they are able to revive. After the author's experiences from the direction and dramaturgy of several marionette performances with the...

Šeráková, Barbora ; Klusák, Miroslav (advisor) ; Hříbková, Lenka (referee)
Anyone who has ever had the opportunity to observe small children when playing or learning something new or telling something and anyone who has ever had the op- portunity to talk to them must have noticed the children sometimes treat the reality around them in a strange way. These are the funny moments when one is surprised what children think and how they treat logic. As though small children lived in an odd world where the rules of logic are completely different. The famous Swiss psy- chologist noticed this peculiar children's thinking and described the intellectual egocentrism in children of preschool and early school age. Egocentrism does not affect only the children's logical thinking but also other aspects of children's think- ing and experience. This special "setting" of children's minds can be observed when the children are playing, in children's communication, in their drawings or in chil- dren's moral judgement. In the field of children's morals Piaget spoke of the moral realism. According to Piaget it is essential for...

This diploma thesis deals with an analysis and comparison of dramatizations of The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame, a book which ranks among the British children's classics. The paper examines to what extent the dramatizations correspond to the book, whether and why they deviate from the original text, and what consequences these changes have. The thesis focuses on four dramatizations – a play by Alan Alexander Milne called Toad of Toad Hall, Alfa Theatre production of The Wind in the Willows, a Walt Disney short animated film The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, and Terry Jones´s adaptation of The Wind in the Willows to a feature film. In the thesis, firstly the book and then the dramatizations are analyzed in terms of the theme and genre, characters, setting, composition and language use. Subsequently, the dramatizations are examined and compared with regards to the transformation processes – selection, condensation, substitution, amplification, and changes in composition and language. In the final chapter, I summarize my findings and draw the conclusion.
