Looking For a Third Reality
Tejnorová, Petra ; Klíma, Miloslav (advisor) ; Makonj, Karel (advisor) ; Krobot, Miroslav (referee)
I see my thesis titled Looking For a Third Reality as an opportunity for finding and reflecting a possibility for an existing link between the individual components of the piece, specifically the music-movement-text-acting-scene (scenography) parts of the production, as well as, naturally, the directing, all of which I come into contact most during my creative work in theater. A certain line and possibility for reflection I see in the process between the production of The Suffering of Duke Sternenhoch and that of Titus Andronicus_The Flight of a Fly. The second line then I see from the two-part project The Memory of a Land - The land of Memory towards the production Personal Case History. The third reality comes to life through synthesis, and not only in the framework of the above mentioned components, but also using sources related to theater. It has a similar character to a montage, when a combination of a component A and a component B creates a new entity C. This newly created quality could be called the creative potential of the viewer as a co-creater of a production. Although neither montage nor third reality is anything new, in this work I am endeavoring to touch the main schemes of the process of creating a third reality and its components. All that based on specific experience.

Humans no/creative interventions into Landscape
Černá, Tereza ; Šmíd, Jan (advisor) ; Velíšek, Martin (referee)
This Bachelor's thesis is intended to be a theoretical study focusing on the visually creative aspects of the topic and the application thereof in the field of teaching. The aim has been to examine human intervention in the landscape and to get behind the concept of "(no-) creativity". I have attempted to use theoretical and creative knowledge to devise individual lesson series, which primarily explore the relationship between children and their environment. The purpose of these series is to stimulate pupils' interest in their surroundings, encouraging them to notice details and changes, and to awaken their capacity for reflection, so that they become more closely in touch with their surroundings, thereby having a positive effect on their future behaviour, not just towards their own immediate surroundings but to nature in general. KEY WORDS art, art education, landscape, human, intervention, city, nature, photograph

Essays on Competition and Entrepreneurial Choice between Nonprofit and For-profit Firms
Brhlíková, Petra ; Ortmann, Andreas (advisor) ; Schlesinger, Mark (referee) ; Handy, Femida (referee)
In my four dissertation essays I focus on the entrepreneurial motivations to enter the nonprofit sector, the objectives of nonprofit institutions, and the competition between nonprofit and for-profit firms within an industry. The literature review looks at the nonprofit sector in a more general way, touching on its size and importance to society, its focus the characteristics that distinguish it from the for-profit sector. To motivate three theoretical chapters, I survey the literature on managerial motivations to enter the nonprofit sector, objective functions that nonprofits pursue, and mixed competition. Two theoretical essays explore competition between one nonprofit and one for-profit firm in the market for an excludable public good. The two competing firms follow different objectives and face different constraints and both optimize with respect to quality and price. Consumers are heterogeneous with respect to quality. The firms' behavior in mixed competition is compared to the nonprofit duopoly and for-profit duopoly. Among other results, the model reveals that the nonprofit firm is a natural leader in the market. The for- profit firm prefers a nonprofit competitor to a for-profit one, and it is better off when its nonprofit competitor is efficient and subsidized. The robustness of these...

"Witness of Czechoslovakia. Case Study of Czech Communist of Jewish Origin."
Bouška, Tomáš ; Cabada, Ladislav (advisor) ; Smetana, Vít (referee)
This MA thesis delivers the life story interview of Czech Communist of Jewish Origin who survived jailing in Nazi concentration camps and Czechoslovak Communist prisons. Using the delivered narrative I aim to explain the historical context of today's Czech Republic from a human perspective. The story is divided into four historical periods of Czechoslovak past for this reason. The interviewed memories touch the key events of the former Czechoslovakia and today's Czech Republic but they deal with anti-Semitism and political oppression, which are international by its nature. In my work I focus on Czech/oslovak, Jewish and Communist identities as three issues the interviewee mentions in all four historical intervals of his narrative. My intention is to clarify the keywords and to explain their meaning for the interviewee in context with the different political situations in the past. My hope is to give the story a complete form and preserve the narrative, which belongs to the gender of Holocaust and Communist witness literature. I use the method of oral history and the life story interview in my thesis because they are the most fruitful approach for my paper. These methods allow the interviewed person to speak about those parts of their lives they consider important. As for the theoretical background I use...
