Adults's knowledge about possibility of natural emergency event occurance in Jilemnice and it's surroundings. Know-how in right behavior and treatment.
VOHNOUTOVÁ, Markéta
Natural emergency events endanger mankind since ever. Jilemnice - municipality with extended competence - is located in Podkrkonoší. This town should be prepared for any unexpected event. Every season brings risk, especially in this "close to mountain" area. Town is endangered by snowstorms in the winter and subsequently floods, caused by melting snow in the spring. We can´t stop it, we can only minimize effects. Information / knowledge is the most important aspect for proper and prompt decision, that affects our life, health and property. Studying and preparing the theoretical part was basic task for realizing the goal of his thesis. Theory consists of natural emergency events typology and principles of proper behavior. Below short area description of municipality with extended competence called Jilemnice. According to information found during theoretical preparation, questionaire was created and consequently introduced to the respondents - adult inhabitants of Jilemnice. Participants were chosen in quota sampling in conjunction with local authonomy specialist. We chose 100 laymen, split into 50 men and 50 women. There were two hypotheses set to reach the goal of my work - basic (H) and partial (H1) formulated below: H) Adult Jilemnice´s inhabitants (laics) knowledge matches Gaussian distribution. H1) There is only [alpha]= 0,05 statistic difference between men´s and women´s knowledge, when talking about natural events problem. Hypothesis and its partial hypothesis were determined per descriptive and mathematical statistics, through following steps: formulation, scaling, measuring, elementary statistical processing. Then within nonparametical testing 7 identical density intervals were defined. [chí2] test / good accordance test using [chí2]teor and [chí2]exp comparison, second normality test inclusive integral calculation was selected (using u variable, primitive function F(ui) and statistical tables) to validate/disprove the hypothesis. Double-selection test was used to disprove partial hypothesis, per empiric argument [mí1]=O1 or [sigma2] and external theoretical data [mí2] and [sigma2] comaprison. Basic hypothesis was proved and accepted. Adults in Jilemnice are informed as presumed, knowledge matches Gaussian/normal distribution. Partial hypothesis wasn´t proved. We expected difference between men and women knowledge in natural emergency event occurence and best practice of treatment. This is surprise according to the first premise.

Molecular-genetic Study of Polygenic Diseases with a Special Focus on Diabetes Mellitus
Čejková, Pavlína
Mgr. Pavlína Čejková MOLECULAR-GENETIC STUDY OF POLYGENIC DISEASES WITH A SPECIAL FOCUS ON DIABETES MELLITUS Abstract Polygenic diseases with complex mode of inheritance constitute an increasing public health burden. The aim of this study was to contribute to our current knowledge in genetic background of several complex diseases, namely enteropathy-type T-cell lymphoma, type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis a psoriatic arthritis, in order to better understand the pathogenesis of the diseases with potential diagnostic, prognostic or therapeutic applications. In the ETL, previously detected gain in chromosome band 9q was further narrowed down by microsatellite analysis to 9q34, and gDNA-based quantitative PCR confirmed amplification of both, ABL1 and NOTCH1genes. HLA genotyping of T1D manifested in childhood, adult-onset T1D and LADA showed partially different genetic predispositions. This finding points out a possible role of environmental factors that increases with age, and at least partly different immunogenetic etiology between autoimmune DM manifested in children and in adults. Further, there is some evidence that T1D and LADA diabetes susceptibility may slightly differ as indicated by different frequencies of HLA and NFKBIA gene polymorphisms. This...

Durgāpūjā in Calcutta: the poetics and politics of a ritual
Hříbek, Martin ; Preinhaelterová, Hana (advisor) ; Vrhel, František (referee) ; Zbavitel, Dušan (referee)
This thesis deals with poetics and politics of the annual worship of goddess Durga in Calcutta, India, and though it is not an ethnography as a genre, it is largely based on fieldwork. In the first chapter of this thesis I reflect on the process of my partial enculturation in Bengal, on the process of understanding that cultural milieu as well as on the nature of understanding the Other in general. The second chapter deals with the concept of ritual. It summarises current state of discussion in the field and finally outlines Alfred Gell' s concepts of secondary agency, technology of enchantment, distributed personhood and extended mind in order to examine the external and internal strategies of animation of images of deities. The third chapter is a short introduction into the goddess worship tradition in India with focus on mythological narratives of Devi -Ma ha tmya and portrayal of Durga pu ja in Bengali rendition of Ra ma ya a. The fourth chapter reverts to my first fieldwork on Durga pu ja and interprets the intersection of Durga pu ja and the " war on terror" with Marc Agué' s concept of extended ritual technique. The fifth chapter is an elaborate survey of plant symbolism in Durga pu ja with plenty of comparative material. Its aim is to explore the ritual symbols within the Durga pu ja complex at the...
