Seting of Working Point of co-Operated Centrifugal Pumps
Sůkal, Jaroslav ; Koutný, Luděk (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
The aim of my diploma thesis is to create a computer program that will help planners to design pipe systems. The program enables to find the parameters of a pumping unit (such as flow, head, power, efficiency, dissipation etc.) in a parallel pipe system which even has two tanks with dissimilar height. Moreover, the program is able to “calculate” the parameters of pumps that have maximum efficiency so that the planner could easily compare the data and determine whether the pump is working near the optimal point. The introduction includes a short overview of issues connected with pumping equipment. The next part deals with a description of software solutions of individual problems. The thesis concludes with a manual of the designed computer program.

Sludge Pumping on WWTP
Fadrný, Tomáš ; Medek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Boráň, Jaroslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the best solution design for a sludge fitting, especially focusing on the right choice of pumps for the waste water treatment plant in Prostějov. The pumps were selected for a circulation pipeline, which heats up the sludge. Several measurements were carried out in order to determine the statistical evaluation of the properties of the pumped medium. The figures gained were used to calculate pressure losses. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts. The first part provides a theoretical analysis of the problem and the second part presents the results and subsequently the reasoning for the new selection of pumps in order to change the WWTP technology from the mesophilic to the thermophilic sludge digestion. The test records describing the testing of the individual samples of the pumped sludge are attached.

Design of chiller for specific application
Gaverník, Michal ; Kohoutek, Josef (referee) ; Jegla, Zdeněk (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with design of chiller for specific aplication – The City Theatre in Brno. The solving equipment of cooling appliance includes complete design of heat exchanger, battery cold and dimensioning of pipeline system used for various media. One part of design is also choice of individual coolant pumps, which guarantee necessary cirkulation of cooling medium in a certain pipeline routes. Selected battery cold in this administration reduced the size of the necessary cooling resources, therefore the cost of implementation. Everything is processed in calculating software. The resulting proposal is also drafted in the design program and will serve as one of the bases for subsequent implementation.

Energy consumption analysis of water utilities
Bábíček, Michal ; Raclavský,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Ručka, Jan (advisor)
In the first part was an analysis of possible cost-saving measures to reduce energy consumption in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Part of the work analyzing energy savings for water treatment plant Bzenecis divided into three parts. Part one deals with a brief description of the individual technological units. In the second part of the individual technological units analyzed in terms of savings already realized by the operator and also in terms of savings that operators shall submit for consideration and possible implementation. The lastthird part summarizes the findings in the second part of the analysis and alsooutlines possible new solutions that are applicable to all objects of the operator.

LITTLE KNOWN PRINCIPLES OF FLUIDIC PUMPING
Tesař, Václav
The paper present a survey of possibilities offered by fluidics in pumping liquids - especially hazardous ones. With its absence of moving, deformed, or sealed components, fluidics offers extraordinary safety, robustness, resistance to extreme conditions, no maintenance and the extraordinary property of transferring the pumping power across a completely closed containment barrier.Initially developed for the extreme conditions of nuclear fuel re-processing, fluidic pumps can be useful – but remain so far little known outside of this area.

CFD analýza kavitačních jevů v hydraulických strojích
Sedlář, M. ; Zima, Patrik
The paper deals with the CFD analysis of cavitation phenomena in the hydraulic machinery. Both the ANSYS CFX 11.0 package and an in-house software developed in the SIGMA Research and Development Institute and the Institute of Thermomechanics, AS CR v.v.i. are used to study three types of cavitation problems: calculation of the NPSH3 curves, modelling of the cavitation instabilities and prediction of the cavitation erosion.
