Title: The History of the Sokol Club I. Smíchov Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with history of Sokol Club I. Smíchov since its establishment till year 1940. The aim of this thesis is not only to describe its history and activities but also shortly give account of Sokol Club. The part of thesis attends to history of the town of Smíchov which is definitely connected with Sokol Club Smíchov. The thesis called "The history of the Sokol Club I. Smíchov" is based on research on historical sources and literature. Mostly I insisted on archival documents from The National Museum, The Collection of Physical Education and Sport and on archival documents of Sokol Club I. Smíchov. From literature I used publications about history of the town of Smíchov and about history and persons of consequence of the Sokol Club. The thesis consists of three parts. The first part is divided into an introduction and an analysis of archival documents, literature and working methods. Next part describes the history of the town of Smíchov, the history of the Sokol Club and biographies of Miroslav Tyrš and Jindřich Fügner, too. There is also described the history of Sokol Club I. Debate of Lisbon National Reform Programs in National Parliaments of Selected EU Member States: Study 1.176

Nově koncipovaný lisabonský proces schválený Evropskou radou v březnu 2005 je programem dlouhodobějšího hospodářsko-sociální směřování EU, které má pomoci Evropě reagovat na vnitřní (stárnoucí populace) i vnější (konkurence z USA, Asie, Jižní Ameriky) ekonomicko-sociální výzvy. Nové pojetí LS usiluje o zúžení počtu prioritních oblastí a o zlepšení samotného řízení, koordinace a hodnocení plnění cílů lisabonské agendy jak na úrovni EU tak na úrovni členských států. Členské státy na podzim roku 2005 předložily tříleté národní lisabonské programy reforem, které mají zajistit jejich politickou odpovědnost při plnění cílů LS a mají usnadnit hodnocení plnění reformních kroků realizovaných v jednotlivých členských státech Unie. Předložená studie se věnuje zapojení zákonodárných sborů (projednávání na plénu, zapojení výborů, předkládání pozměňovacích návrhů) do schvalování národních lisabonských programů reforem (NLPR) na roky 2005-2008 v jednotlivých členských státech Unie. Práce ukazuje, že ve většině sledovaných zemí nebyl NLPR na programu plenárního zasedání, výjimkou byly rakouská Národní rada, slovenská Národní rada a Senát Parlamentu ČR. Studie dále dokládá, že v některých zemích byl do projednávání národních lisabonských programů reforem zapojen pouze jeden výbor (např. Belgie, Francie, Polsko) a v jiných zemích byl tento strategický dokument projednáván ve více věcně příslušných výborech (např. Finsko, Slovinsko, Estonsko).

The Impact of the Civil War on the Economy of the USA

The aim of this study is to analyze the economy of the United States before, but mainly after the American Civil War. The first part of the thesis is aimed at the comparison of antebellum economies of Southern and Northern American States and the causes which led to the outbreak of the military conflict. The issues of slavery, different economic development or tense political situation are discussed. The second part deals with the economic impact of the Civil War and with the subsequent post-bellum economic development in the United States. On the basis of such evaluated data, the hypothesis, claiming that the Civil War represented the revolution in the development of the American economy, which we would not have experienced without the military conflict, is tested. I conclude that the war cannot be seen as a watershed in neither American economic development - nor in the North, where transformation into the industrial society had already begun before the war, or in the Southern states, where the emancipation of slaves caused diminution in agriculture productivity which contributed to the economic backwardness of the South.

Common foreign and security policy of the EU after the Lisbon treaty: Study 3.082

Studie popisuje institucionální a rozhodovací rámec společné zahraniční a bezpečnostní politiky v kontextu změn, které v této oblasti přinesla Lisabonská smlouva. Společná zahraniční a bezpečnostní politika je Lisabonskou smlouvou prostřednictvím společných cílů propojena s dalšími činnostmi Unie, které mají dopad na unijní vnější vztahy, jako je např. společná obchodní politika nebo rozvojová politika. S tím souvisí vytvoření nové funkce Vysokého představitele Unie pro zahraniční vztahy bezpečnostní politiku, který personálně propojuje činnost Rady a Komise v oblasti vnějších vztahů. V oblasti rozhodovacích procesů k žádné podstatné změně nedošlo, nadále je smluvně chráněn státní zájem, který umožňuje členskému státu vetovat rozhodnutí. Autor konstatuje, že i přes výrazné změny, které Lisabonská smlouva přináší, především pokud jde o institucionální strukturu společné zahraniční a bezpečnostní politiky a její propojení s vnějšími vztahy Unie prostřednictvím společných cílů, společná zahraniční a bezpečnostní politika je i nadále vytvořena jako svébytný pilíř evropské integrace.

UNASUR - analysis of the Southamerican integration

The objective of this bachelor thesis is to clarify the process of integration in the region known as Latin America. In Part 2:- Theory, I define borders and analyze the origin of the term "Latin America". I also deal with the theories of terms related to the topic. In the following section, I analyze the historical development of integration, while exploring the influence of the United States´ tendency to integrate into Latin America. The main subject of analysis is the organization UNASUR. I will try to illustrate its institutional structure, goals, and successful projects.

The History of Sokol in Písek

This bachelor thesis is concerned with history of Sokol organization in Písek from its foundation up to today. During its evolution in time, activities of Sokol faced many adversities and the organization was also disbanded several times. Members of Sokol were very proud and honest patriots. They defended the republic during World War I., fought in Czechoslovak legions and acted as military police preventing plundering and total chaos. The expansion after World War II., referenced as the Golden Age, lasted only for 20 years, until its interruption by World War II. Despite difficult conditions the organization attained a particular level of development. Every fifteenth citizen of the country was its member and the number of participating members got close to 1 million. Sokol supported a sense for Czech patriotism, which culminated by the means of a demonstration on the 20th Sokol festival in 1938. In the following difficult war period, Sokol members were persecuted for their patriotism by Nazi occupants, about 12 000 members were imprisoned and 3 300 of them died in concentration camps. Also, Písek members lost their best officials and participants. In the 1941 the organization was dissolved again and its property was confiscated. After long 40 years of communist totalitarian rule and its eventual collapse, Sokol organization came back to life in 1990. The system of physical training has been greatly transformed since then, as the whole training sector went through major innovations. Earlier Sokol`s exercising is now conceived as an universal preparation for children and conditional training for adults, but now based on a modern attitude. Many changes in form and content helped to attract new supporters.

Respondents were questioned whether they are satisfied with EU membership of the Czech Republic and whether they are proud of it and if they think that EU resolutions will be in the interest of the Czech Republic.

Agreement on EU constitution in eyes of czech public

In June survey Czech citizens expressed their satisfaction or dissatisfaction with EU membership of the Czech Republic. Then respondents answered a question, whether EU should have united constitution and what czech citizens think about their knowledges of European constitution. Last part of survey was devoted to public opinion on voting for european constitution in referendum.

Bilateral Economic Cooperation between Norway and Czech Republic

This diploma thesis is focused on main aspects of the economic cooperation between Norway and Czech Republic. Theoretical part describes main determinants of international economic cooperation. The analytical part analyses business environment in both countries, an influence of European Union on the economic cooperation, an activity of investment agencies and SWOT analysis of the Norwegian market. One chapter is focused on an import of the natural gas from Norway to Czech Republic, which is the most important part of the economic cooperation.
