Analysis of unemployment in the district of Jihlava with focusing retraining courses
Nardelliová, Klára ; Szabová, Lucia (advisor) ; Vebrová, Ludmila (referee)
The problem of unemployment is still the current topic. Unemployment not only hassignificant impact on economic performance, but also a very strong pressure on the psyche of the unemployed and his family. Active employment policy is one of the tools, that may be reducing the unemployment rate. This thesis analyzes the labor market in the district of Jihlava, focusing on active employment policy, and implemented in this district. The theoretical part deals with unemployment and an active employment policy in general terms. The practical part deals with the problemsof unemployment and employment policy in the district of Jihlava. There outlined the demographic structure of population and economic characteristics of basic district. In particular, the work focuses on the development and structure of unemployment in thedistrict, which is compared to the national average. This work verified the hypothesisabout the effectiveness of active employment policy in the form of retraining courses

Do the Major League Baseball teams maximize performance or profits?
Šindelář, Jakub ; Bartoň, Petr (advisor) ; Koubek, Ivo (referee)
On the basis of model from paper Barrio and Szymanski (2009) I estimate if the teams are closer to their profit or performance maximizing positions. I found teams in MLB are in short run on average closer to their win maximizing position. Another interesting conclusion is there are almost no differences between clubs in open league system represented by Spanish and English football league and closed league system represented by Major League Baseball in profit maximizing choices. That means the closed league system which is usually used in North America does not help teams to maximize their profits. I examined club characteristics that might explain variations in teams maximizing choices and found that clubs, which are incorporated companies, are on average closer to their profit maximizing choices.

Disparity v demografickém vývoji okresů Jihomoravského kraje
Štěpánová, Pavla
The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate inter-district disparities in South-Moravian region by means of analysis of demographic development in time period from 2002 to 2012. The thesis is focused on the structure of population and vital statistics (mortality, birth rate, abortion rate, marriage rate, divorce rate, migration and population increase). The development of mortality, birth rate, average population up to 2015 is predicted using methods of analytical compensation of time series. This thesis includes the theoretical part where characteristics and terms related to a process of demographic development are introduced followed by the practical part with the analysis of demographic development in districts of South-Moravian region.

Chrudim region in the half of 17th century - demographic and social structure
Kačerová, Eva ; Fialová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Maur, Eduard (referee) ; Závodský, Prokop (referee)
The aim of the submitted thesis is to give an overall picture of the demographic structure of the population of the Chrudim region after the end of the Thirty Years War as recorded in the List of Serfs according to Faith of 1651. Each individual was listed according to name, occupation or relationship to household head, age and religious status. The List recorded 46 626 persons of the Chrudim region. This List did not avoid the rounding-off the age of the people and failed to record consistently the infant part of the population. One of the main aims is to provide an estimate of the child component of the population. The basic prerequisite for estimating the number of children under the age of 12 was that women (men) of the same age in various parts of the estates had on average the same or at least a similar number of children in the individual age groups. Mathematical models eliminating rounding the age of the people consist in formalisation of thinking the way people could rounding their age. One possibility is hypothesis that closer their real age was to some favourite age (multiples 10, 5, even numbers) so much the more they rounded their age for this favourite values. Another possibility presents hypothesis of uniform tendency to rounding within the frame of determinate interval. The last...

Selected demographic characteristics of population in structurally affected districts of the Czech Republic late in the 20th and early in the 21th century
Valterová, Aneta ; Bartoňová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Šídlo, Luděk (referee)
Selected demographic characteristics of population in structurally affected districts of the Czech Republic late in the 20th and early in the 21th century Abstract The main objective of this work is and methods to analyze and evaluate the structure of the population of selected structurally affected districts through demographic indicators. Using comparative methods we will verify the justified classification of these districts among structurally affected regions. The first part consists of the theoretical framework of the thesis, containing definitions and legislative elements of regional development. The main part of the thesis discusses the analysis itself. Here we will attest that the selected structurally affected districts lag behind the national average in the Czech Republic in the selected population characteristics. The paper also describes current trends in the demographic behavior of the population of the Czech Republic. These trends are eventually compared with the demographic development in structurally affected districts in the past 20 years. Keywords: structurally affected region, industry transformation, demographic characteristics, comparative analysis, structure of the population

Optimalizace parametrů laserového přetavování povrchu
Chmelíčková, Hana ; Kaňa, J. ; Hiklová, Helena ; Lapšanská, Hana ; Havelková, Martina
Laser beam with power density 102 W.mm-2 causes metal surface melting without material vaporization. Temperature gradient between melted spot centre and solid state boundary is formed, surface structure is changed. Cooling rate affects melted zone microstructure. In result, surface quality, porosity, homogenization, mechanical and chemical resistivity are improved. Laser melting parameters optimization of steel samples was made by means of pulsed solid state laser with average power 100 W. Energy, pulse length, feed speed and laser beam diameter were subsequently changed. Melted traces on steel surface were analyzed to discover microstructure and dimensions of affected zones. Result dependence on process parameters was evaluated and optimal parameters were chosen.

Tick-borne meningoencephalitis in east Bohemia.
Pleskotová, Pavla ; Förstl, Miroslav (advisor) ; Svobodová, Michaela (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis was a detailed study of a tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) occurence in Eastern Bohemia during years 2003 - 2006. The group of 3100 patients was examined by the use of ELISA technique for IgM and IgG antibodies against the tick-borne encephalitis virus. All the tests were performed in the laboratories of the Virological Department of the Institute of Clinical Microbiology in the University Hospital at Hradec Králové. According to the resulting diagnosis the patients were divided into several groups which were subsequently further characterized on the basis of the age structure and men/women ratio. Moreover, the geographical profile and the primary diagnosis were closely investigated for the studied group of patients. The main part of this work is formed by an extended look at the development of the number of positive cases of the tick-borne encephalitis infection in eastern bohemia during 2003 - 2006. It was found that the increasing trend in the TBE development is similar for Eastern Bohemia and the entire Czech Republic. Furthermore, it was confirmed that this increase is truly a distinct deviation (and not only a casual fluctuation) from the the previous 15-year course. An average year's temperature evolution was not sufficient to explain this deviation, so we took...
