Agrotechnical demands for establishing growth of the selected annual and perennial energy crops

The aim of this dissertation is to verify the influence of certain agrotechnical procedures during the growing of selected annual and perrenial plants for use as energy sources. The chosen annual plant was maize (Zea mays L.) and the observed perrenial plant was (Miscanthus x giganteus). The literary overview is aimed at agrotechnical requirements, range of uses and the economic aspects of growing the chosen energy crops. The productive potencial of the chosen plants was then assessed on the basis of the individual agrotechnical procedures. The purpose of growing the plants was the creation of phytomass to be used as a raw material in biogas stations. Field tests were carried out for each plant, and the chosen agrotechnical procedures were then judged on the basis of the tests.

The opinion of the general public regarding the raising of children by homosexual couples

The thesis deals with the opinion of the general public on children upbringing by homosexual couples. I chose the topic as it is interesting and up-to-date. The main goal of the thesis was to find out the opinion of the general public on children upbringing by homosexual couples and a partial aim focused on finding out which gender is more tolerant to these problems. The theoretical part of the thesis is aimed at characterizing the basic terms related to homosexuality and homosexual cohabitation. A substantial part is dedicated to Act No. 115/2006 Col. on registered partnership, where I focus on the rights and obligations of partners, maintenance obligation and parental responsibility of the pair for a child. This part also deals with family, homoparental family and children upbringing in homoparental families, where I mention the reasons for and against children upbringing in such families. Last but not least I deal with the possibilities of homosexuals to become parents. The practical part includes a research, which was performed by means of questionnaires distributed to the general public. I asked the respondents about their awareness of Act No. 115/2006 Col. on registered partnership. I tried to find out whether the respondents were aware of the act, whether they agreed with children upbringing in homoparental families and if they could imagine growing up in such a family. I was also interested in respondents? opinion on assisted reproduction in lesbian women and their approach to children upbringing by homosexual couples. Most of the respondents agree in the questions related to children upbringing by homosexual couples.

Services for children and adolescent in region of Prague 13

In its theoretical part the Bachelor Thesis "Services for children and youth in the area of Prague 13" speaks about social services, their acreditation and standarts of quality in social services. Short chapter is dedicated to community planning which has become the most widely spread form of both social services and of services in general. Further on in the thesis types of services for children and youth are mentioned according to how they are defined by law and specialised literature. This part concerns the services that can be used by children and youth mostly during their leisure time. Practical part is centered on the area of Prague 13 which is fastly growing area that where the new inhabitants are accepted. Later in the work is a remark about the sociodemographic structure about this district of Prague. There are discussed separate areas of the life in Prague 13 and the coverage of this area by the services for children and youth and about how they are perceived by average user. According to the law n.108/2007 of the code about the social services, services are communaly planned there too. There was also made a research about the needs of the users of social services. Spillover effects and other impacts of foreign direct investment in host countries

One of the most significant developments in the last couple of decades in the world economy are the rapidly growing FDI . The purpose of this paper is to investigate effects on the host countries and to answer if FDI is a solution for economic development in the emerging countries. The paper will use and analyse statistics on FDI and discuss a broad empirical literature studying the FDI impacts. The majority of empirical evidence supports that FDI has positive impact on economic growth, with the exception of FDI into primary sector. However, technology spillovers, especially in manufacturing sector, tend to take place only in countries which have small technology gaps compared to the country of FDI origin. On the other hand, FDI into services, especially into banking and telecommunication sector are likely to enhance the productivity of manufacturing sector. There prevails positive evidence of FDI impact on wages and ambiguous on wage inqualities and employment. The impact of FDI in the Czech Republic is in line with mentioned standards. The impact on growth has been positive, however, probably due to considerable productivity gap, there is no clear evidence of positive technology spillovers. Cytokine expression in chemically-induced senescence

Cellular senescence, widely recognized as a potent suppressor of tumorigenesis, represents response to cellular stress and DNA damage which results in irreversible cell growth arrest. Growing evidence signalizes crucial role of cytokine production in senescence phenomenon. Recently, many research groups have efforted to define exact character of senescence-associated secretory phenotype and its function in senescence development and maintentance. Factors secreted by senescent cells, mainly of proiflammatory character, were found to have pronounced effects on their environment as well as on its own producer. Vplyv globálnych masmédií na tvorbu medzinárodnej politiky

Táto práca skúma vplyv globálnych masmédií na tvorbu medzinárodnej politiky počas vybraných konfliktov na Blízkom východe. Zameriava sa konkrétne na vojnu v Perzskom zálive a vojnu v Iraku. Jej hlavným cieľom je analýza, do akej miery môžu masmédiá ovplyvňovať proces tvorby medzinárodnej politiky resp. byť v nej využívané ako nástroj jej hlavných aktérov. Zhodnocuje, že masmédiá hrajú v medzinárodnej politike významnú úlohu ako nástroj propagandy. V budúcnosti sa stanú masmédiá kľúčovým faktorom pri zaisťovaní informačnej dominancie v nových konfliktoch. Masmédiá na Blízkom východe majú, ale zároveň potenciál stať sa nástrojom budovania demokracie.

Cílem této diplomové práce je představit metodu Support Point Analysis (SPA) vytvořenou firmou DHL v roce 2007. SPA je analytický nástroj jehož jádrem jsou metriky Service Desku a vzorec SPA. Tento nástroj umožňuje optimalizovat podporu IT služeb napříč celou organizací a je schopný poskytnout údaje o produktivitě a vytíženosti pracovníků podpory IT služeb. Přináší nový pohled na řízení oddělení podpory IT služeb a má potenciál stát se standardem měření efektivity práce.

Crime perpetrated against seniors

The issue of violence against seniors is a major concern in many developed countries. The elderly are among the demographic groups that are most at risk. This group is growing because the population is generally getting older. Each year, hundreds of seniors in the Czech Republic become victims of crime. Within the bounds of quantitative research, I chose the methods of controlled dialogue, model casuistry and secondary data analysis. The issues seniors face are becoming more and more prominent and pressing; they demand a solution. Education about how to protect themselves and their property is an important tool, which helps to minimalize the perpetration of criminal offences against seniors.
