Commodity price risk hedging
Pospíšil, Jakub ; Taušer, Josef (advisor) ; Čajka, Radek (referee)
The thesis presents and applies modern theory of hedging. It determines optimal hedging strategies for Strabucks and GlencoreXstrata corporations on coffee bean and high-grade copper markets. Through these two case studies the theoretical models are tested and assessed based on their relevance to business needs.
Detection of Dasatinib using Pre-reaction with Copper and Mass Spectrometry
Jaklová Dytrtová, Jana ; Jakl, M. ; Navrátil, Tomáš
The determination of dasatinib (DAS) was provided using front-end electrochemical separation with mass detection. The electrochemical separation is based on the reaction of DAS with copper solid electrode. The affinity of DAS to copper is supported by redox reaction yealding to DAS fragmentation.
Removal of copper from wastewater using a constructed wetland
POMIJOVÁ, Zuzana
This work deals with the efficiency of copper removal from wastewater using constructed wetlands. The object of this study was the vegetation wastewater treatment plant in the village of Slavošovice. During 2014, I used atomic absorption spectrometry to determine Cu concentration in the effluent. Samples were taken from different parts of the treatment plant (the inflow and outflow, and selected sampling sites in the vegetation bed). The obtained results enable to calculate the efficiency of copper removal from municipal wastewater.
Detection of Thiram Pesticide using Copper Affinity Electrochemical Separation Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry
Jaklová Dytrtová, Jana ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Jakl, M. ; Nováková, Kateřina
The detection of pesticides in environmental matrices has a purpose in analytical chemistry and it is important for understanding their role in the environment 1-3. Direct detection of pesticides in environmental matrices is complicated due to many occurring interactions with metals (e.g., Ca, Cu, Mg, Zn). The experimental utilization of combining electrochemical cell with mass spectrometry is shown in the case of thiram (T). The method is based on high affinity of copper cations to many ligands.
Milk as a source of trace elements
BOUCHALOVÁ, Jana
The aim of this thesis was to enumerate the contents of important trace elements in cow's milk (iodine, zinc, copper, manganese) and evaluate the importance of milk as the natural resources in human nutrition. The average content of iodine in cows' milk in farms of South Bohemia in 2009 was 360,91 ?g/l, 2010 440,62 ?g/l in 2011 337,14 ?g/l. The average content of zinc in cow's milk in 2009 was 4825,15 ?g/l. The average content of copper in cow's milk in 2009 was 38,78 ?g/l. The average content of manganese in cow's milk in 2009 was 16,49 ?g/l. The average consumption of 0.16 liter of milk per person per day provided income of iodine in 2009 in 39%, in 2010 in 47%, in 2011 in 54%, income of zinc in 2009 in 6%, copper income in 0,3% and manganese income in 0,07%.
Analysis of the production process of the company Abydos s. r. o.
Sciranka, Peter ; Kislingerová, Eva (advisor) ; Kupec, Olga (referee)
The rapid evolution of a turbulent world economy in recent years has caused problems to a large number of enterprises, especially those that operate in cyclical sectors of the economy. The aim of this thesis is the financial and economic analysis of the company Abydos s. r. o., which operates in the engineering industry and its main business is supplying components for the automotive industry. Another objective is to analyze selected parts of the manufacturing process and design optimization and measures that would help the company improve the process and thus improve economic results of the company.
Seasonal dynamics of selected blood parametres of selected flesh breeds of sheep bred in foothills conditions
ŽÁČKOVÁ, Klára
Sheep breeding is nowadays a developing branch of agriculture again. There is a lot of different breed and they react distinctly on the same conditions of the enviroment. Sheep of breeds charollais, suffolk, šumavská ovce and valaška bred in similar conditions were observed in spring and autumn of years 2007 and 2008. In these seasons were taking blood samples (from {$\pm$}7{--}24) ewes and lambs and were analyzed in hematology laboratory. There were determined haemoglobin level, haematocrit indicator, erytrocytes and leucocytes levels, glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides levels, urea and plasmatic proteins, activity of ALP and GMT enzymes, phosphor, calcium, magnesium, zinc and copper levels. The main objective of this project was determine seasonal changes in observed parametres. Next objectives were determine different changes in blood parametres in different breeds and different aimes of breeds. There were recognized that all the observed breeds don`t react the same way on similar conditions. There were not provably determined seasonal changes in observed parametres, but average Hb level was higher in autumn than in spring. Urea level was conversely higher in spring season than in autumn. The demostrable fact is, that the similar conditions induce different answers not only in different breeds but also in different aimes of breeds.
The ecological aspect emanation of zinc and copper in the cattle
JURKOVÁ, Petra
The objective of my diploma thesis was to determine the ecological impact of zinc and copper on the dairy and beef cattle breeding in the South-West Bohemia region at the farms located in the Šumava Protected Landscape Area, at the elevation from 750 m to 1070 m. The research included 4 cattle breeding farms, Posobice and Nemilkov {--} dairy cattle, and Hartmanice, Keple {--} beef cattle. In my thesis, I first evaluate the importance of zinc and copper as important mineral matters and their overall influence of the cattle organism. Furthermore, I evaluate their manifestations when these matters are lacking or in surplus in the organism. The final part of the thesis comprises two areas of findings. The first part focuses on the total intake in feed and mineral additives, the level of their content in blood plasma and their quantity excreted by cattle in the individual dairy and beef cattle breeding farms specified above. The second part researches the release of zinc and copper to the environment.
Optimalizace vnášení prášku při plazmovém stříkání wolframu a mědi
Matějíček, Jiří ; Mušálek, Radek
Coatings of tungsten, copper and their composites can be used in various thermal management applications. For plasma spraying, injection of the feedstock powder is critical to achieve proper melting in the plasma jet and to produce coatings of desired properties. In this study, powder injection parameters were optimized while varying the injection location and carrier gas flow. Behavior of the particles in the plasma jet was observed using in-flight particle diagnostics; deposition efficiency as well as several coating properties were measured. Based on the results, the optimal injection conditions were selected, and composites and graded layers produced.
Vliv podávání prášku na mechanické vlastnosti plazmových nástřiků mědi a wolframu
Mušálek, Radek ; Matějíček, Jiří
Nuclear fusion is considered to be a promising energy source for the future. One of the biggest problems which has to be solved is the development of inner wall material of the fusion reactor. For the inner parts which will be exposed to high levels of heat and particle flux, a combination of tungsten layer on copper parts was proposed. Tungsten is refractory material resistant to high heat and particle flux, while copper can efficiently remove heat due to its high thermal conductivity. But high stress concentration on the materials interface can occur due to the thermal expansion coefficient (CTE) mismatch of both materials when exposed to high temperatures. Therefore plasma spraying is promising technology for this application. One of the critical plasma spraying parameters is the carrier gas flow which has to be optimized to ensure proper particle trajectory along the centerline of the plasma flame. Obtained results are currently being used for the development of FGM coatings.
