Digitally controlled multi-quadrant power supply
Chytil, Jiří ; Štekl, Petr (referee) ; Kubíček, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deal with design of multi-quadrant power supply in linear and switching mode. In the case of the switching mode energy recuparation is also considered as well as optimalization of change of load response over time. Power supplies are designed as general purpose laboratory and process power supplies. Power supplies are designed so that they can be connected via galvanic insulated USB interface with a PC

Relation of flutter derivatives and indicial functions in linear aero-elastic models
Náprstek, Jiří ; Pospíšil, Stanislav
Double degree of freedom (DDOF) linear systems are frequently used to model the aero-elastic response of slender prismatic systems until the first critical state is reached. Relevant mathematical models appearing in literature differ in principle by way of composition of aero-elastic forces. This criterion enables to sort them roughly in three groups: (i) neutral models - aero-elastic forces are introduced as suitable constants independent from excitation frequency and time; (ii) flutter derivatives - they respect the frequency dependence of aero-elastic forces; (iii) indicial functions - they are defined as kernels of convolution integrals formulating aero-elastic forces as functions of time. The paper tries to put all three groups together on one common basis to demonstrate their linkage and to eliminate gaps in mathematical formulations between them.

The influence of government policy towards working mothers on public finances in EU countries
Žáková, Kristýna ; Kubátová, Květa (advisor) ; Kostohryz, Jiří (referee)
Bachelor thesis deals with the impact of government policy towards working mothers in EU countries. The first part of this work concerns the description of family policy and the European Union's position on family policy. The next part is the theoretical part of the tax credits and their detailed enumeration in selected EU countries. The next part compares the various factors affecting families, which are used in the practical part. The practical part uses linear regression models and data retrieved dealing with dependence or independence of selected variables.

Experimental verification of resonance behaviour of a damped spherical pendulum
Fischer, Cyril ; Pospíšil, Stanislav ; Náprstek, Jiří
Theoretical, experimental and numerical analysis of a spherical pendulum is carried out. The stability of the response in a vertical plane is analysed in the theoretically predicted resonance region. Mathematical model respects the non-linear character of the pendulum and allows to introduce asymmetrical damping. Experimental pendulum is hanging from the Cardan joint and placed to carriage. Uni-directional harmonic excitation is applied to the system. The pendulum is damped by two magnetic units. These units are able to reproduce linear viscous damping independently in both principal response components. Response in in-plane and out-of-plane directions is measured and analyzed.

The Intergenerational Mobility in Czech Republic
Krejčí, Lucie ; Bartoň, Petr (advisor) ; Kuře, Miroslav (referee)
This paper deals with the intergenerational income mobility, its determinants and scope. The data sample concerning fathers and their sons in the Czech Republic and is collected by a questionnaire method. Results are estimated using simple linear regression with socioeconomic indices as a proxy variable and using transition matrix. The resulting mobility is not too large, which means that the opportunities in the Czech Republic are not equal. As important exogenous variables turned out to be years of schooling of both father and son and higher education attainment of both.

Methods of Treating Bankruptcy in the Era of the First Republic
Pavlík, Jan ; Kuklík, Jan (advisor) ; Skřejpková, Petra (referee)
RESUMÉ WAYS OF THE SOLVING OF THE BANKRUPTCY IN THE "FIRST-REPULIC ERA" This work offers close look on the ways, in which bankruptcy was solved in Czechoslovakia between both World Wars. This period was very interesting from social and economic point of view. During this time was rise substituted by recession. Except from this, with the formation of the independent state a great normative effort was on the rise too. Problems of solution of bankruptcy in so called "first-republic era" are introduced by brief description of historical development, which is mentioned to remember some elementary legal institutes, on which the bankruptcy law is based up to these days. During the work on this text of lead experts of the period in this branch were critically compared in order to realize the positives and negatives of the then regulation in the view of the praxis due to their opinions and possible conflicts as well as the way, in which the juristic theory and normative might reacted on the practical problems and public meaning. Studying of the Explanatory memorandum for the bill of the Act No. 64/1931 Coll., on bankruptcy, composition and resistance, helped a lot in this effort. The analysis of this Act is the axis of the work. Both the mentioned Act and the former Austrian regulation were compared as well as the...

How birds judge the risk of predation during winter nourishment experiments - meaning of the movement of the model
BAŽANT, Miroslav
In my bachelor{\crq}s thesis I have discussed whether movement of a predator dummy reduces the number of birds visiting the bird feeder with food and therefore whether mobile dummies are judged to be more dangerous (more lifelike). Stuffed dummies of sparrowhawks and martens (predators), a stuffed pigeon and a plushy toy (control), situated on an electric ``rotator{\crq}q, were tested. The sparrowhawk and the marten reduced the number of visits to the feeder much more than the pigeon and the plushy toy. Therefore it is clear that the studied species of bird (chiefly tits) are capable of differentiating between individual objects and judging the risk issuing from them. With the exception of an independent analysis for the Great Tit, no difference in the number of visits when using mobile and stationary dummies was proven. However there was a clear trend in general, particularly with the pigeon. Movement by the marten (and also the plushy toy) also markedly reduced the success of individual visits. The static dummy of the predator discourages birds from visiting the feeder as effectively as the mobile dummy, however this may increase the alertness of birds who have decided to visit the feeder.

A note on the use of copulas in chance-constrained programming
Houda, Michal
In this paper we are concentrated on a problem of linear chanceconstrained programming where the constraint matrix is considered random with a known distribution of the matrix rows. The rows are not considered to be independent; instead, we make use of the copula notion to describe the dependence of the matrix rows. In particular, the distribution of the rows is driven by so-called Archimedean class of copulas. We provide a review of very basic properties of Archimedean copulas and describe how they can be used to transform the stochastic programming problem into a deterministic problem of second-order cone programming. Also the question of convexity of the problem is explored and importance of the selected class of copulas is commented. At the end of the paper, we provide a simple example to illustrate the concept used.

Determination of Sibiromycin by UPHLC Method
Šestáková, Ivana ; Čabala, Radomír (referee)
A new separation and quantification method using ultra high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) with UV detection was developed for the detection of sibiromycin in fermentation broth of Streptosporangium sibiricum. The solid phase extraction method based on cation-exchange was employed to pre-concentrate and purify fermentation broth containing sibiromycin prior to UHPLC analysis. The whole assay was validated and showed a linear range of detector response for the quantification of sibiromycin in a concentration from 3.9 to 250.0 µg/ml, with correlation coefficient of 0.999 and recoveries rating from 71.66±3.55 % to 74.75±5.18 %. Method limit of quantification of the assay was determined as 0.18 µg/ml and was verified with resulting RSD of 9.6 % and accuracy of 97.6 %. The developed assay was used to determine the sibiromycin production in 12 different fermentation broths. Moreover, several natural sibiromycin analogues/derivatives were described with pilot characterization using off-line mass spektrometry.

The Impact of Electoral Cycles on Monetary Policies in Advanced and Developing Economies
Lupusor, Adrian ; Horváth, Roman (advisor) ; Havránek, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis provides a comparative estimation of the electoral cycles' influence on the monetary policies among a group of developed and developing countries. We use a non-linear central bank's reaction function which captures the regime switching behavior of the monetary authority depending on the proximity of elections. Moreover, we compare the reaction function with partial adjustment, which controls for policy inertia, with a non-inertial policy rule with serially correlated errors which takes into account other shocks determining the central bank to deviate from its policy rule. The estimation was performed via OLS, 2SLS and 3SLS, the preference being given to the last one due to correction of endogeneity problem and efficiency gains. Robust evidence about election induced monetary policies was found in 2 out of 10 developed economies and 4 out of 10 developing economies. In these countries, the central banks tend to be less inflation averse and/or less counter-cyclical (or even pro- cyclical) during electoral periods in comparison with normal times. Additionally, we find that the legislative framework, in these countries, incorporates significant deviations from the best practices of central bank independence. Finally, following the dynamic inconsistency problem, we document a strong...
