Plant traits determining plant-herbivore interactions
Medová, Tereza ; Münzbergová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Skuhrovec, Jiří (referee)
Plants are constantly endangered by herbivores. Plants have adapted and created a wide arsenal of defences during approximately 410 million years of coexistence. Their role consists of fading the herbivores off or reduce suffered damage. This bachelor's thesis focuses on mechanisms that were proven to serve as plant defences. It is specifically about interactions between invertebrate herbivores and plants of terrestrial ecosystems. Prediction of herbivory by some traits is mentioned as well. Information about characteristics of plants which affects preferences of herbivores is interesting due to its possibility of aplication in agriculture or biological control of invasive species. Prediction of spontaneous preterm labor - role of midwife
Plojharová, Tereza ; Pařízek, Antonín (advisor) ; Přáda, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of premature birth prediction. Premature delivery is one of the most serious problems in obstetrics and the cause of many perinatal complications. The incidence in the Czech Republic today is around 7,2 %. The problem of prediction of this serious pathology is false negativity or converselyfalse positivity. Regarding the latter, women are unnecessarily hospitalized and treated. It is very important to find a method that could detect as many impending premature births as possible and at the same time show the lowest possible false positivity. However, this is very difficult. Premature birth is caused multifactorial effects. The aim of the study was to determine the premature birth prediction using vaginal ultrasound cervicometry in combination with the examination of fetal fibronectin levels in the transvaginal fluid and the effectiveness of the QUIPP algorithm in predicting the premature birth. These goals were accompanied by 6 hypotheses that helped to fulfill the goals. From January 2019 to March 2020, asymptomatic women with a high risk of premature birth in the week of pregnancy 22+0 to 25+6 were examined. Also, women who then gave birth at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the First Faculty of Medicine and General Teaching Hospital in...

Titel: The comparative study of predication equations for value calculation 1-RM at the squat and the dead lift. Aim: To evaluate the most exact equation for the calculation 1-RM on the basis of comparation of extracted data with predication equations at the squat and the dead lift. Research complex: The research complex is created by the soldiers of Army of Czech Republic. They are the men at the age from 20 to 40 with health classification A. Used methods: The comparative method with the using of experimental testing. Results: By the mutual comparation of data we have found out, that the most exact predication equation for the calculation 1-RM in a squat or in a dead lift is from the authors O'Conner et al. Squat was predicted with correlation coefficient r = 0.975 and deadlift with a value of r = 0.951. Keywords: sqaut, dead lift, 1-RM, prediction equation, correlation coefficient.
The Pre-listening Stage in L2 Listening Instruction to A2 - B1 Adult Learners.

The Pre-listening Stage in L2 Listening Instruction to A2 - B1 Adult Learners By Hana Ždímalová This dissertation deals with listening instruction to adult EFL learners in the Czech Republic and the phenomenon of pre-listening, which is currently under-researched. It examines adult EFL students' perspectives and perceptions of listening instruction and of the inclusion of different pre-listening techniques, particularly at CEFR A2-B1 proficiency levels. The theoretical part of the study focuses on current developments in listening research and the historical context of the development of listening instruction in classical FLT methodology. The pre-listening stage has been integral to L2 listening instruction since the beginning of Communicative Language Teaching. However, some controversial issues have recently been raised. For example, teachers are sometimes suspected of spending too much time on the pre- listening stage (Field 2002; 2008) and the overall usefulness of previewed comprehension questions in testing listening has been challenged (Sherman 1997). Moreover, adult students' listening needs and their perceptions of listening instruction have not yet been thoroughly researched (Graham 2006; Graham and Macaro 2008). This study argues that we should ask the students about their perceptions...
Electricity market: Analysis and prediction of volatility
Kunc, Vladimír ; Krištoufek, Ladislav (advisor) ; Hájek, Jan (referee)
Electricity market: Analysis and prediction of volatility Abstract Vladimír Kunc July 30, 2015 The last two decades can be characterized by restructuring of energy industry and the creation of new, competitive energy markets, where accurate forecasts of elec- tricity prices and price volatility are valuable both to consumers and producers. The aim of this work is to analyse several models for prediction of the price volatility of electricity on the Czech Electricity Day-ahead market on price data provided by OTE, a.s. for years 2009-2014. This work compares 144 different models' configura- tions for three distinct classes of models - autoregressive models, GARCH models, and artificial neural network models. This work provides comparison based on five different criteria, each describing the model in different way. Keywords: price prediction, volatility prediction, GARCH, neural networks, LSTM 1

Antibody-mediated rejection after kidney transplantation
Slatinská, Janka ; Viklický, Ondřej (advisor) ; Reischig, Tomáš (referee) ; Krejčí, Karel (referee)
Antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) is the main cause of the kidney graft dysfunction and its failure after transplantation. Antibodies lead to vascular damage that is either acute or chronic and manifests as sudden or progressive graft dysfunction. Risk factors for development of AMR are time spent on haemodialysis, retransplantation, previous sensitisation against HLA antigens, and persistence of panel-reactive antibodies. Diagnosis is based on detection of deposits of C4d component of complement in peritubular capilaries and presence of donor-specific antibodies (DSA). We can also observe injury caused by antibodies against non-HLA antigens without detection of anti-HLA DSA. Use of "molecular microscope" can be beneficial in diagnosis and stratification of the risk of graft failure. High expression of ENDAT (endothelial activation and injury transcript) improves prediction of kidney graft failure more than C4d staining. Based on gene expression, the AMR scoring system correlates with the diagnosis of AMR and predicts graft loss in the future. The main goal of our work was to recognize patients at risk of AMR. In our study, we confirmed the efficacy and safety of acute AMR therapy with plasmaphereses and administration of intravenous immunoglobulins for improving outcomes of kidney transplantation....
Risk factors of manifestation and course of treatment of inflammatory bowel disease in children
Lerchová, Tereza ; Hradský, Ondřej (advisor) ; Ďuricová, Dana (referee) ; Havličeková, Zuzana (referee)
Risk factors of manifestation and course of treatment of inflammatory bowel disease in children Typical Crohn's disease (CD), Crohn's colitis, typical and atypical ulcerative colitis (UC) are currently perceived as different forms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The incidence of IBD is increasing worldwide in both the adult and paediatric populations. Although the role of genetic background and environmental factors in the development of these diseases is known to some extent, the exact cause of IBD has still not been determined. Comprehensive care requires a precise and data-driven approach to minimize the risk of complicated disease course and the development of disease-related and/or treatment-associated complications. The main goal of this work is to identify new predictive factors affecting individual areas of care of paediatric patients with IBD. The range of clinical situations addressed in this work includes the possibility of predicting the diagnosis, the generally complicated disease course, the response to a particular therapeutic regimen, the development of side effects associated with the therapeutic procedure and the patient's adherence to the treatment. Part of the original works was done in a retrospective design, part as prospective observational studies and two of the original works...
