Land use GIS in a selected municipality

The thesis content study of land use in municipality Lelekovice and its connection with software for geographic information system. It describes processing data especially historical cadastre maps, archival aerial imagery and orthophotos which were used for analyzing of this area. Analysis were performed in software ArcGIS. Appendixes of thesis are graphs and visualization of development of study area.

Analysis of changes in land use in the selected area

This thesis deals with the analysis of changes in the selected area, specifically in the cadastral Vodňany. The aim of this study was to evaluate changes in the period between 1842 - 2011. As a bases were used maps of the 2nd military mappings, the state map derived of 1: 5000 and the current orthophoto updated in 2011. The maps of the 2nd military mappings were obtained using a WMS service of the National INSPIRE Geoportal, the state map derived orthophoto and the current drawn from the order of the portal CUZK. All work involving the preparation of maps, map outputs and associated data acquisition were made in the ArcMap 10 program. The obtained data were further processed, there were created tables and graphs that serves as an overview of land use changes in the area and they were all created in Microsoft Excel. This work tries to answer on why these changes occurred and what was the reason for the change of land use in the area.

Using ArcMap for processing cartographic work

Nowadays computers take part in most human activities. They help us process and store data and also enable us to provide file management. As a lot of specialised programmes have been developed recently for various subjects, it is possible to find a special mapping software for cartography work and making maps. An example of GIS (geographic information system) mapping software is ArcMap. This thesis sums up possible applications of ArcMap in cartography. These in particular include orthophotomap connection and digitization, georeferencing followed by bitmap digitization, display methods of hypsometry (contour line, raster, TIN), generalization tools, topographical symbols creation and editing, making thematic maps and variety of ArcMap outcomes.

Atlas of tourism of the South Bohemian region

The diploma thesis goes into Tourism atlas of South Bohemian Region and its processing into a set of maps. I am describing a selection of tourist attractions as well as processing of map sheets in the beginning of the dissertation. Next part of the dissertation deals with basic characteristics of the defined area. I am also concentrating on the GIS points at issue and I am describing cartographic means of expression and map composition in this part. Before processing the atlas I had made a few designs of map sheets. Then I chose one design which served for making of the atlas. Tourism atlas is a principal part of the dissertation. It is formed out of 32 thematic maps based on tourist attractions. I have included the following thematic areas among selected attractions: nature attractions, protected areas, cultural heritage (castles, châteaux, strongholds, ruins, lookout towers, museums, galeries, UNESCO monuments, natural cultural heritage, urban conservation areas and reserves, rural conservation areas and reserves, and others).

ANALYSIS DEVELOPMENT OF SETTLEMENT AND LAND COVER IN ENVIRONMENT OF GIS ON EXAMPLE VILLAGE NOVE HUTE ON VIMPERSKO

Imaging in 3D is today very modern trend map outputs no excepting. Inside of following work is prooved range of possibilities of programme ArcScene that the serves above all to generating 3D models. These models are create on the basis adjustment map basis, imperial prints stationary land register and historical ortofoto. These adjustment including procedure are described at methodical part. On the basis of 3D models is effected analysis of land cover and settlement. Thesis paies of municipal territory Nové Hutě that the fall in Šumava microregion Vimpersko.
