Domestic violence is currently seen as a significant social problem; it is a form of violence that is widespread throughout the world, in all cultures and all social strata. Domestic violence is usually directed against women, to a lesser extent also against men or senior citizens. Children living in families at risk of domestic violence should be seen as indirect victims of domestic violence too. Domestic violence does not threaten the victims only, but also children who are present in violent incidents between the parents. This thesis, which is focused on children as victims of domestic violence, is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part explained the basic concepts in this field. In the beginning, it was important to highlight the importance of family, its essential functions and vital role in meeting the needs of all its members. VONDRŮ, Mirka
Stalking or a dangerous pursuit is considered to be a specific form of violence. Its main feature is that an offender clamps to a known or unknown person who he persecutes by an unsolicited and unwanted attention. Currently, stalking is a current issue of policy and legislation. The bachelor thesis deals with problems of stalking and domestic violence. Key findings and current information on stalking and domestic violence are summarized in the theoretical part. In the practical part there is presented an awareness of these issues, which students from Faculty of Health and Social Studies of South Bohemian University have. An aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out the awareness of students from Faculty of Health and Social Studies of South Bohemian University on stalking and domestic violence. This hypothesis was determined in accordance with the goal: ?Students of higher grades will be better informed on stalking than students of lower grades.? This hypothesis was disproved. The research was carried out quantitatively, a method of interviewing was used, a technique of a survey. The research sample consisted of students from Faculty of Health and Social Studies of South Bohemian University in České Budějovice. The research showed that students from Faculty of Health and Social Studies of South Bohemian University were informed on stalking and domestic violence. Despite this predication, however, I believe, that the general public is not sufficiently informed on these issues. It is possible to increase the public awareness by an enlightenment, which should be oriented above all to pupils of elementary and secondary schools. A benefit of this thesis I see especially in a better awareness of students on these current topics. Furthermore, even in a possibility of using the obtained data of the research part and also in gaining a greater insight into stalking and domestic violence issues among the general public and people interested in the given issue.

Domestic violence, institute of expulsion from view of Policie ČR (novel of rule no. 273/2008 Sb., o Policii ČR)
NEUSCHEL, Zdeněk
Domestic violence is a social-pathology phenomenon, which requires a complex solution in terms of inter-disciplinary attitude. Key role in the system is the one of the Police of the Czech Republic (further PCR), which in most cases gets first into the contact with a victim and an offender and is authorized to the control and prevention of unacceptable act. According to the legal situation the policemen should secure the safety of an endangered individual, document the incident, effectively regulate a violent person and handle the specific communication with the victim of domestic violence. This thesis deals with the procedure of police organs at the solution of incidents, showing the signs of domestic violence in the connection to the adoption of Act No. 273/2008 Coll., on the PCR, which has been valid since 1st January 2009, and its comparison to the previous legal regulations solving the problems of domestic violence. The objective of the thesis is the description of valid legal regulations, their comparison to the previous state which was solved by the amendment of the original law on the Police of the Czech Republic carried out by the Act No. 135/2006 Coll., on protection against domestic violence valid from 1st January 2007 to 31st December 2008 and the assessment of present development, especially if the simplification of work of PCR organs in this area (institute of expulsion of a violent person at the solution of incidents with the signs of domestic violence) influences the work of police and solution of these cases. The thesis itself was carried out by the method of questioning, the form of non-standardized interview in terms of qualitative research. The interview was carried out in the sample of police members, placed in basic police stations, where they solve the issue of domestic violence. The interview was also carried out with officials of various command types in the sphere of Regional Police Headquarters of South Bohemian Region. Other respondents were the workers of intervention centres, employees of social and law protection of children institutions and the workers of non-profit organizations functioning in South Bohemian Region and the analysis of study case. By the change of legal regulations the process concerning expulsion of violent person was changed (from the procedure in administrative action to authorisation of a police officer according to the law on PCR). It was found out that by the change in the procedure at expulsion of violent person out of the house by a police organ the course of expulsion became faster and also the possibility of efficient protection of an endangered individual. The change of the process has no effect on the incident assessment.
Other crimes of the perpetrators of domestic violence
DVOŘÁK, Vlastimil
Domestic violence is a serious problem of our population; it is the most wide-spread form of violence concerning all groups of inhabitants. At home violence other criminal offences are committed simultaneously but no statistics observes the connection between home violence and committed crime of violent character. If the communication with surroundings fails, verbal violence (belittling, threat, invectives) or non-verbal violence (rejecting of communication as the means of exaction, signs of assailing by a gesture and of course violent aggression itself) come. The term ``home{\crqq} is not only a place where an aggressor and a victim live; it is a subjective term for the place and group of people. Home and a group of people cannot be situated in a specific place. Nevertheless, home and home environment is in places, which are out of the public control and a group of people is separate from the others. In these surroundings the relationships among particular individuals, parents, children, siblings and partners are included. As there is no typical victim of domestic violence, there is no typical offender of domestic violence. Belonging to a social group on the social, racial or other basis, age, job, nationality does not suppose the creating of certain typical features. The thesis and its research are focused on the issue of domestic violence as well as the issue of committed criminal offences before and after the course of domestic violence. The first hypothesis is that the offenders are people with the criminal past, which was not proved by a quantitative research. The second hypothesis that offenders with the criminal past commit violent criminal activities more frequently than property or other criminal activities was proved. However, its relevancy was weakened by the participation of respondents, or sociological structure of respondents. The results of the research on domestic violence were identified with generally admitted and respected facts. Respondents´ answers did not differ from the results of other statistic investigations but it was necessary to clear the results from subjective impressions of respondents-police officers, which come out of the character of their jobs. The use of potential marking of possible violent activity offenders or domestic violence committing with respect to their past criminal cases is available for the needs of region section basic units (the Police of the Czech Republic).
