Vibrational communication of subterranean rodents
HROUZKOVÁ, Ema
This PhD. thesis focuses on the vibrational communication of subterranean mammals, in particular, vocal communication of bathyergids (Heliophobius argenteocinereus, Fukomys mechowii, Fukomys darlingi) and seismic communication of Tachyoryctes. We recorded and analyzed the vocalization of three species and discussed the physical parameters of their vocalization in relationship to the special underground acoustic environment. Moreover, social systems of African mole-rats range from solitary to eusocial and thus our results enabled us to discuss the influence of sociality on vocal repertoire richness and its composition. Long distance communication possesses many challenges in underground environments; the only effective mean is seismic communication. We described for the first time seismic signaling in Tachyoryctes and proposed its function.

CHLISTOVSKÝ, Miroslav
The Diploma thesis on the theme "Assessment of flood control measures to protect the population in selected communities of the South Bohemia region in the catchment area of the river Lužnice" is divided into theoretical part and the research part. The theoretical part is a general whole, which in the sections refers to the relevant legislation of the flood problems, it explains the flood as the concept and everything associated with it. In particular it introduces the readers with flood characteristics of the territory of the Czech Republic and with the characteristics of the catchment area of the river Lužnice. It describes the selected municipalities by its flow, which are the subject of the research. It explains the difference between a natural and an extraordinary flood, describes the historic and contemporary floods and their damage. It deals with the protection from natural disasters, characterizes the activities of the relevant organs of the protection flood. In the context of the protection of the population it defines the summary measures that help to ensure the protection of life and health of the people, property and environment in emergencies, which are warning, evacuation, hide and emergency survival of the population and other measures to ensure the protection of life, health and property. The aim of this work is to evaluate the effectiveness of flood control measures from the perspective of the number of the protected inhabitants on the territory. In order to achieve the goals, it was necessary to make several consecutive steps. On the basis of assessed results it could be returned to the research question, whether the built flood protection measures are effective in relation to the protected values of the life, health, property and the environment. For the fulfillment of the objectives of the work and verification of research questions,it was need to be familiar with the relevant legislation of the subject, then with the implemented measures, flood protection plans of the municipalities including analysis of their substantive and organisational components. After that to perform the qualitative processing of the survey, the respondents of which were the statutory representatives of the municipalities, who are in charge of the flood protection, and other charged people (e.g. crisis management staff, officers of the Department of the environment or Building office, etc.). The found facts served to the description, evaluation, comparison and analysis of the flood control measures in relation to the number of the protected inhabitants within the catchment area of the river Lužnice. In this way the concrete results were obtained and discussed in the comments of this Diploma thesis. Didactic Aid according to Montessori Pedagogy as the Instrument for Space Orientation Development of Preschool Child with Disability.
MILICHOVSKÁ, Lenka
This bachelor´s thesis focuses on creating a teaching aid according to Montessori principles of education, an aid which serves as a tool for development of spatial orientation of pre-school children with disabilities. The theoretical part is divided into six chapters. The first chapter centres on disabled individuals. The second chapter describes the specifics of pre-school children´s development and presents a comparison with developmental characteristics of a child with cerebral palsy, and in the third chapter, child with developmental dysphasia. The other three chapters that follow deal with Montessori education; the first of these describes the main Montessori principles, the second elaborates on the theoretical basis of Montessori material and the final chapter engages itself with pre-school facilities and home environment based on Montessori principles. The principal aim of this thesis is to create a teaching aid in line with Montessori methods for a pre-school child with disability with the focus on spatial orientation. The first sub-goal was to observe the child while working with the original Montessori material. The second sub-goal targeted the production of a teaching aid for development of spatial orientation according to Montessori education. Furthermore, this aid was used for training the disabled child in order to teach it how to work with such an aid, which constituted the third sub-goal. The fourth sub-goal was a demonstration of the child´s work with the aid in the presence of legal representatives for work with this aid in a home environment. The fifth, and final, sub-goal, was to implement the aid in a home environment. Based on these defined objectives, research issues were established. In order to fulfill all the goals, a qualitative method of research was chosen. To get hold of necessary data for creating the teaching aid, a technique of observation of disabled children was used, as well as an analysis of personal documentation. Moreover, data were collected with the assistance of semi-standardised interview with educators and legal representatives of the disabled children. The research was conducted in the period between January and the end of March 2016. The research group included three disabled children frequenting Family Centre Pomněnka in České Budějovice, their legal representatives and educators of the centre. The outcome of this work is a teaching aid, hand-made according to Montessori education with a focus on spatial orientation. The aid was created in two modifications and was further adjusted on the basis of individual needs of each disabled child chosen. Upon the observation of disabled children in the Montessori centre and analysis of record keeping sheets, it was found that the created teaching aid develops orientation on a work surface in both vertical and horizontal plane, basic concepts of orientation on the work surface (concepts such as up - down, first - middle - last, on the right - on the left, up and right/left, down and right/left), accuracy and ability to compare forms (letters) with each other. This hand-made tool was tested in both educational and home environment. The research shows that both these environments stimulate the children, leading them to act systematically and independently. The aid was used in compliance with the basic "requirements" of Montessori pedagogy and its attributes for work with the aid, with emphasis on the well-prepared environment (quiet, suitable time, personal space,...) and systematic nature of the work with the aid. A teaching aid enables, according to Montessori education, to allow for individual needs of any child with special educational needs and can be utilized in both educational and home environment.

Eye Examination in the Ward from the Perspective of Nurses
SUCHÁ, Veronika
In the theoretical part of the thesis we deal with the examination, which is the most widespread in the eye department, both on the inpatient ward and the ambulances that are parts of the ophthalmology department. We deal with the characteristic work of a nurse at the eye department, including nursing diagnoses and problems which nurses may meet in the eye department. As an example, we also mention different types of eye ambulances. In the research part of the thesis we have set two objectives. The first objective was to determine the specifics of nursing care before an examination at the eye department. The second objective was to determine the specifics of nursing care after the examination at the eye department. For these targets we have appropriately chosen two research questions, we have worked with during the process of this thesis. The first research question was, what are the specifics of nursing care before an eye test. The second question was, what are the specifics of nursing care after an eye test. For research inquiries of the thesis, we chose qualitative research. We have prepared semi-structured interview. Our respondents were nurses working at the eye department in a hospital in southern Bohemia and in a hospital in the Highlands and interviews were conducted with their consent. From the questions and answers it was created 6 categorization groups, some of which have subgroups. The research shows that the work of nurses with patients at the eye department has some specifics before and after the eye examination. For the first set goal, what are the specifics of nursing care before examination at the eye department, the responses of the sisters showed that before examination sisters are trying to get information from patients. We claim that this is an anamnesis, although each sister had mentioned something else. All agreed on the question about the glasses worn by the patient, as well as on questions about vision problems and eye surgeries. More than half of the nurses ask a patient about amblyopia and eye injuries. Before the examination sisters pay attention to proper communication with the patient and co-operation with him. They also mentioned communication with a doctor before a procedure. All nurses reported that they use local eye drops on patients or other medications depending on the type of examination and a doctor's prescription. Half of the nurses agreed on the examination of visual acuity at distance and on flushing the eye before the examination. Before the examination, all the sisters are preparing the necessary instruments, to which they ranked eye drops, squares and kidney tray. They did not forget the instrumentation, that all of them must turn on before the examination and sterilize. All the sisters also talks about the environment for the eye examination. In this issue, about preparing the environment for the examination, all replied that the doctor examines a patient in the daylight or in the dark room. The preparation of a patient is different before each examination. A nurse prepares a patient According to the type of examination. For the second goal, what are the specifics of nursing care after the examination in the department, research suggests that, again, nurses spend a great deal of time on communicating with patients. To the issue of communication they put also the techniques of guiding of a patient, and also his accompaniment. They are devoted to assist patients in activities that patients after an examination cannot do themselves. In the greatest degree the nurses perform the prescriptions ordered by the doctor. All nurses agreed that patients should be monitored for an allergic reaction after examination. Half of the nurses monitor the overall condition of the patient after the examination. Each sister disinfects instrumentation for examination at the eye department. All nurses also agreed that after the examination the doctor should inform the patient about the limitations connect

Adaptation of Preschool Children in a Foreign Language Environment
MITREVSKÁ, Martina
The subject of my bachaelor thesis is an adaptation and acquisition of other languages by bilingual children in the kindergarden environment. The aim of my work is to detect the most common problems, which can occur during a bilingual child´s adaptation and language development, from the parents and kindergarden teachers point of view. The bachaelor thesis is comprised of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part of my work describes general terms and recent opinions, presented in published works, which investigates problems such as speech development, language, bilingualism, bilingual education, bilingual individual and children´s adaptation to kindergarden environment. The practical part presents results of my research, which has been implemented on five different specimens. I attempt to describe, what feelings and experiences children have during adaptation, how does bilingual child´s language development proceed, what are the most common problems which accompanies child´s adaptation and what steps should the teacher take to enable the most natural, fast and smooth adaptation and language acquisition. The study will be conducted through observation and interviews. I will explore child´s behavior, temperament, participation and language development. During this study I will work closely with children´s parents, who will help me record important changes. I will observe in my study five bilingual children 3 to 6 years old living in families, whose language is different from community language. I will attempt through the help of teachers and parents to summarize, how did child adjut to the new environment, how did she/he manage the language and what were the most common bilingual children´s problems and parent´s fears.
