Study of the influence organic fibres on the fire resistance of concrete
Klobása, Jan ; Přikryl, Jan (referee) ; Sedlmajer, Martin (advisor)
The master thesis is focused on current issues of concrete behaviour under high temperatures. In the theoretical part, a search of knowledge about changes in concrete, which take place when exposed to thermal loads, which simulates the effect of fire, is performed, and summarized. It is also important to summarize the changes in the individual components that are used to produce concrete. This work describes the effect of high temperatures on mechanical and physical properties as well. There is an information about the most used fibres and their function in concrete. Emphasis is placed on describing the possibility of using recycled PET or cellulose fibres due to the positive environmental impact. In the experimental part, recipes with different types and amounts of fibres are proposed. The subject of the research was to determine how individual types and amounts of fibres affect the physical mechanical properties of concrete and their suitability for use at high temperatures. Microscopic scanning and study of changes in the structure of concrete was also performed.
Fire safety of wood structures
Čtvrtečková, Lenka ; Šmak, Milan (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the description, indication and evaluation of the fire resistance of wooden structures. It describes the procedures used to determine the corresponding fire resistance. It also contains a description of construction systems and fire solutions for selected wooden buildings across the world. This bachelor thesis experimentally verifies the fire resistance of mechanically bonded cross laminated timber boards.
The roof structure of the sport hall in Mikulov
Sochorec, Michal ; Barnat, Jan (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis describes design and static assessment of the roof structure of sport hall in Mikulov. Specifically the roofing of the two tennis courts and surrounding stands. Thesis examine several alternatives of design of roof structure like plate girders from glued laminated timber or truss girders made from solid wood. Girders span is 19 m above each tennis court. In the static calculation are assessed individual supporting elements and their connections. The thesis also includes fire resistant report of some elements of roof structure. Static analysis has been accomplished by student version of the SCIA Engineer 14 software.
Salesian Center
Martinek, Ivo ; Perla, Jan (referee) ; Švaříčková, Ivana (advisor)
This final thesis is focused on a reinforcement design and check of selected reinforced concrete structure parts of a church building. A spatial model loaded with dead and live loads is designed in order to carry out a structural analysis in SCIA Engineer software. Serviceability limit state and fire resistance are then checked for some selected load-bearing elements. The drawings are also included in this work.
Study of possibilities of modification of insulators based on natural fibers for improvement of their fire reaction
Urbánek, Tomáš ; Sedlmajer, Martin (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
This paper deals with new possibilities of modification of organic (including natural) fibers to improve their reaction to fire used in the production of thermal and acoustic insulators. The aim of the thesis is to achieve a minimum reaction class to fire D in final insulators.
The optimization of the wood polymer composite composition regarding its utilization in building structures
Benešová, Anna ; Pospíšil,, Ladislav (referee) ; Ďurica,, Tibor (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
Wood-polymer composite is a relatively new type of material that combines shattered wood mass and a thermoplastic polymer. This material is utilized especially as an alternative to hard wood in the area of non-bearing exterior elements, as it reaches better properties in terms of the basic durability and low maintenance. Raw material composition and processing of the composite enable to provide a significant modification with further matters leading to an improvement of the end-product properties. Research and development in this field focuses predominantly on the utilization of such modifying additives that either enhance the resistance to weathering or are of the recycled nature, as a significant part of the raw material mixture comprises the constituent obtained from non-renewable resources. The aim of the thesis is the evaluation of the influence of the wood-polymer composite modification separately at two levels. First of them is the modification to matrix by using a recycled polymer, the second one comprises the modification of the wood flour with a secondary spherical filler. Both types of modified composites have been assessed in terms pf the prime characteristics and the resistance to adverse ambient.
Brno Skyscraper
Buchta, Václav ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Sedláček, Michal (advisor)
The architectural study deals with the design of the new tallest building in the territory of the Czech Republic with a height of 200 m. The key aspect of the design is the use of solid wood CLT, GLT in the construction of the skyscraper tube. The work therefore aims to work with wood as a CO2 battery and to influence the architect's attitude towards this material in term of fire and environment. The expression of the exterior is inspired by Brno's functionalist background.
Operative diagnostics of an object affected by fire
Hnátková, Barbora ; Lisztwan, Dominik (referee) ; Schmid, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with technical construction research of the family house which was affected by a fire. The theoretical part of this bachelor’s thesis is describing a fire resistence of the masonry and mainly timber structures. In the practical part is a description of the construction, descriptions of the diagnostic methods, goings of the tests and their evaluation. The main focus of the survey is to find out a state of the construction after the fire and its reliability.
