Controlling as a Tool for Management

This thesis deals with the controlling and analyzes its position and a role in the company. In the theoretical part some basic information about the controlling, about the tools and methods used by the controlling and about the controller and a relationship between him and the manager is mentioned. In the practical part the theoretical knowledges are applied to the selected company and there are some suggestions that would contribute to improving the controlling system in the company.

This Diploma thesis aims to theoretically define tools used by modern controlling and then practically apply them in specific company in Czech Republic. To analyse the chosen company will be used both strategic and operational controlling instruments. Calculations and analysis will help the company to understand the environment in which they operate and which is their current position. Finally I formulate opinions and recommendations about the currently used procedures in the company.

The goal is to analyze what role should subserve the controlling of the company theoretically and compare this teoretical view in the company Intersnack Inc., the logistics department and according to the following facts suggest possible improvements in the department.
