Effects of restoration and renaturation measures applied on watercourses
Brychtová, Anna ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Králová, Magdalena (referee)
This work focuses on the effects of restoration on watercourses, in particular on a planned restoration of Klíšský brook in Ohře basin and a finished restoration of Rokytka in Běchovice. The main goal is to use the methods HEM and MoRPh for evaluation of hydromorphology in both areas. In case of Klíšský brook, HEM is used to estimate ïts future condition after restoration. Another goal is to assess and propose a vegetation structure for the of Klíšský brook restoration, then to describe it on Rokytka. Research on the topic of river restoration, their goals and effects is included, as is an introduction to in the Czech Republic less known method MoRPh. The results of hydromorphological and vegetation structure assessment are introduced. Both utilised methods show adverse hydromorphological conditions on Klišský brook in comparison to Rokytka. Vegetation also shows higher diversity around and in Rokytka's channel. This work is a base for further monitoring of hydromorphology and vegetation evolution in both areas. The results from Klíšský brook were also used in its restoration proposal. Key words: river restoration, renaturation, hydromorphology, channel, riparian belt, flood plain, riparian vegetation
Reconstruction of the inlet channel to the turbine
Hanuš, Roman ; Perla, Jan (referee) ; Strnad, Jiří (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor's thesis is designing the reconstruction of the watercourse leading to the mill complex in the Bohumileč village in Northern Bohemia. A proposal for a new safety weir has been developed on the watercourse, connecting to the existing dam with its original weir in an unsatisfactory state. A diagnostic survey and assessment of the original reinforced concrete channel in the former mill building, which has been supplying water to the water turbine since 1914, have been conducted.
Studie protipovodňové ochrany části povodí Litavy
Slezák, Pavel
The thesis Study of flood prevention in a part of the Litava river catchment describes flood prevention built in May 2012, based on charting of the target location in the area of Slavkov u Brna town. The bulletin of the thesis describes characteristics of the flood, historical events of the most important flood in Czech republic and the topic of flood is debated as well. It also includes flood prevention characteristics. The next part of the thesis analyzes the target area and the flood which happened in Slavkov in 2010. It describes the catchment of Litava river which lies in South Moravia region. The main part if the thesis describes flood prevention systems built in the target area. The last part of the thesis describes current flood prevention systems, concept and suggestions of possible improvements in the Slavkov town.
The design of the lateral variant of the dam Skalička
Vahalík, Zbyněk ; Galatík, Prokop (referee) ; Říha, Jaromír (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of the lateral variant of the dam Skalička. The introduction part describes the area around the dam, followed by the history and the current situation. The following part process the design of the dam's location, its integration into the terrain, the development of the shape and composition of the dam's cross and longitudinal section. The diploma thesis includes the design of the inflow and the outflow object, cross section of the inlet channel including its longitudinal section, as well as the implementation of the dam's water management solution and assessment of the reservoir’s transformation capacity. The thesis is supplemented by hydrotechnical calculations.
Preparation of small water course restoration study in the agriculturally used landscape
HONZA, Jan
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of restoring the modified troughs of a small watercourse to its natural state - with revitalization. The theoretical part describes technical terms, history of flow adjustments, benefits of revitalization and its individual methods. The practical part describes the basin watercourse in the cadastral area of the Černá v Pošumaví village. The water flow is evaluated by the QBR method. The suitability of the locality for possible revitalization is monitored. Subsequently, a possible work flow is proposed. Finally, the feasibility of revitalization is evaluated. Photos of the research locality, maps and attachments with drawings are part of the thesis
UAV photogrammetry as tool for evaluation of fluvio-morphological changes of streams
Lörinc, Michal ; Langhammer, Jakub (advisor) ; Hartvich, Filip (referee)
This thesis is focused on a use of a technology that is relatively new and popular in geoscience applications, including the fluvial dynamics research. Unmanned aerial vehicles are becoming widely used in numerous geographical subdisciplines due to their capabilities and advantages of UAV imaging in comparison with other remote sensing techniques. These advantages and also limitations together with general characterization of UAVs are summarized in the secondchapter of the thesis. The following theoretical chapters deal with basics of UAV photogrammetry and also evaluate the potential of UAV imaging in fluvial geomorphology. The fifth chapter of the thesis comprises a case study that evaluates the use of an UAV equipped with a non-metric camera for fluvial environment reconstruction. Images of Javoří potok have been processed in Agisoft PhotoScan and ArcGIS to indicate geomorphological changes of the stream channel that happened during a 5 month period from November 2014 to April 2015. Keywords: UAV; photogrammetry; fluvial geomorphology; hydrology; channel
Spatial distribution of erosion and accumulation landforms within the river channel depending on the channel course and barriers for various large river
Marková, Jana ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Hartvich, Filip (referee)
The subject of the diploma thesis is the change in the spatial distribution of erosion and sediment deposition landforms within the channel of four different-size rivers, and is based on the morphology of the river channel and presence of barriers. The objective of this thesis was to 1) map the spatial distribution of channel bars and locations of bank scour, 2) define the morphologic characteristics including the position with respect to the location of bends and obstructions in the channel of the individual river reaches, and 3) define common patterns, and explain potential differences between the patterns in the rivers of different size. For the purpose of this study a field reconnaissance was carried out on selected reaches of Sazava River, Litavka River, Kocaba River and Lodenice River. The selected sections represent relatively natural parts of river channels with similar geomorphic conditions. The field survey was carried out in two campaigns - in spring and in summer 2015. The results of the survey indicate that channel bends do not play a primary role in the position and morphology of channel bars and locations of bank scour. However, significant sediment deposition or erosion activity was identified near run-of-river dams. In the surveyed reaches of the Sazava and Litavka rivers, channel...
Renovation of a water reservoir in the village of Žďárná
Pastorková, Nikola ; Krčma, Marek (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
The theme of this diploma thesis is to restore the existing small reservoir in the village Žďárná. A new safety spillway and bottom outlet will be built, the flood will be shaped according to the cross-sections and the dam of the water reservoir will be fortified. The designed objects will be hydraulically verified. Using the HEC-HMS program, a hydrological model of the river basin is created and subsequently a derived flood wave PV20.
Project of revitalization part of Kninicky brook
Vyplel, Adam ; Svoboda, Ondřej (referee) ; Šlezingr, Miloslav (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the proposal of systematic revitalization of the selected section of the Knínický brook in the cadastral area of Veverské Knínice. It is a straight, very deep channel due to technical adjustments in the past. The HEC-RAS program verifies the capacity of the channel for the Q100 flow. In this way, it was found that the channel has very high capacity so a new route with Q1 flow capacity was designed. Due to the height conditions, the design also included three boulder chutes. Subsequently, the vegetation accompaniment and bank stands were suitably supplemented.
