Dependence of flow properties of plastics on water content and technological parameters
Ohnút, Lukáš ; Šilhavý, Miroslav (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
Bachelor thesis was focused on detection the effect of moisture on the injection process. Two commonly used materials polyamide (PA66) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) were selected in the first step. The polymers were characterized to moisture analysis to determine the moisture content depending on time and temperature of drying. The experiment was carried out on a provisional injection mold due to non-possession of the mold cavity in the shape of Archimedes spiral. Weight of samples and injection pressure were observed in dependence to the percentage of moisture content in granulate
Production technology of plastic holder roof rack
Nevřivý, Lukáš ; Šalša, Josef (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
This master’s thesis focuses on a design of injection mold which is used for manufacturing of a plastic holder of roof rack. The first part includes shape analysis of the holder and explains function of the product as well as specify essential requirements which must be met. The choice of the most suitable manufacturing technology is followed by theoretical part which deals with literature review of plastic materials, technology of injection molding and basics of injection mold designing. Practical part includes overall design of the mold for the holder of roof rack based on technological calculations. Practical part is followed by mold flow analysis simulation showing suitability of designed mold along with selection of suitable injection molding machine based on product construction design and technological process of manufacturing. The conclusion of master’s thesis includes an economical evaluation of proposed manufacturing technology.
Solution production technology of part "cable connector" on a rapid prototyping
Palacký, Vladislav ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
Thesis consists of the entirety of theoretical and computational knowledge processing for the designing and manufacturing of cable connector. This work includes two technically viable alternatives. It proposes a complete process of serial production with a capacity of 50,000 units per year, including an economic evaluation of both types of technologies and their mutual comparison.
Optimization of the vacuum deaeration of the injection mold
Rohlínková, Marie ; Kebrle, Ondřej (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
The project elaborated design of optimization venting of molds exhibiting bubbles or low quality weld lines. Based on a literature study of the injection mold venting, the use of vacuum venting, namely the VACUUMJET system of the Spanish CUMSA manufacturer, has been proposed. The experiments proved the elimination of bubbles in the part and the marked improvement of visual quality of the weld lines. The effect on the closing force was not confirmed. The use of the system is more economical for larger batches production, or when high quality parts are required that allow price increasing.
Design of plastic parts of the sports car front bumper
Najvar, Petr ; Drápela, Miloslav (referee) ; Koutný, Daniel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the plastic parts design for VW Scirocco R front bumper. Plastic parts were designed for an injection molding mass production. Besides of designing a shape of the parts based on package, assembly concept, functional and aesthetic requirements, great deal of attention is applied to proper part molding with regard to technological and economic aspects.
Production technology of plastic threaded adapters
Turek, Tomáš ; Kebrle, Ondřej (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
The Master thesis deals with the possible production of the plastic unit with thread. As the most suitable material was chosen the polyformaldehyde (POM), its production label is Delrin 500P NC010 by Du Pont. The thesis consists of a part with the information about the technology of injection molding of plastics and a part where processing parameters for the production of the plastic unit are designed. Part of the solution was to create an assembly design of injection mold. Since the plastic unit with thread is very specificly shaped the form is handled as a slide mold. The mold is pieced together from normalized parts by the Hasco and DME company. The serie of 100 000 pieces would be delivered in 5 months. Because of the cost savings a solution of the cold-runner system was suggested. A suitable injection molding machine was chosen from the calculated values from Arburgfroms – Type 370s Allrounder 500-170.At the end of the thesis costs were evalueted for acquire per one piece of adapter.
Quality assessment of a thermostat valve
Kropáč, Ondřej ; Harčarík, Matej (referee) ; Jankových, Róbert (advisor)
The automotive thermostat currently contributes significantly to the potential to reduce the output of the exhaust gases. The heart of the modern thermostat is the ball valve assembly which also deals with this master‘s thesis. First of all the principles of the quality of the automotive thermostat are described with the choice of further deeper examined properties. The manufacturing process of a ball element and PTFE sealing ring is described. Subsequently the problem of increased production of nonconforming products in production is studied focusing on the surface texture of teflon ring and shape analysis of the ball element. Finally a recommendation for practice with regard to the reduction of additional costs associated with poorly manufactured part is created and further action on this issue is recommended.
Design of manufacturing technology for plastic car emblem
Bombera, Mojmír ; Krška, Petr (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
The project elaborated in scope of engineering studies branch 2307. The project is submitting design of production technology of car emblem. Different manufacturing technologies have been compared based on study of technical literature. Most suitable technologies have been chosen such as pressure die casting, especially aluminum alloys and plastic injection molding. Plastic part is metal plated afterwards in order to get desired metal look. Part of this project is injection molding tool design inclusive technical, technological and economic analysis.
