Recognition of Skin Diseases on Fingers of a Human Hand
Šesták, Martin ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of methods and application for recognition of the fingerprints from diseased and healthy fingers and the subsequent detection of selected diseases. The first part describes basic principles of biometrics, introduction to fingerprints and their processing, and introduction to the topic of fingerprints affected by skin diseases. The next section describes the implementation of the application and its results. The application was tested on a database of research group STRaDe, from the Department of Intelligent Systems, Faculty of Information Technology,  Brno University of Technology, which contains approximately 380 test fingerprints.
Basic fingerprint liveness detection
Horák, Tomáš ; Smital, Lukáš (referee) ; Kašpar, Jakub (advisor)
Biometric data is unique, safe and often used to protect information. Even in some cases, detectors can be fooled, and therefore liveness is needed to check. This work focuses on the basic recognition of the liveliness of the fingerprint. Only one finger image is used. For perfect recognition, you need to compare the prints, so have more than one print, and that's why this detection is very demanding. Pre-processing was done with a binary segmentation mask. Methods using gray scale ratios, mean, standard deviations or histogram equalization were also used. All the methods were done on the LivDet 2011 database, in the Matlab environment and the goal was to recognize a live fingerprints from a false ones.
Biometric Sensor for Hand Vein Recognition
Švestka, Jan ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Goldmann, Tomáš (advisor)
This work describes the area of the biometric sensor for identifying using hand veins. It proposes the construction of a sensor made up of a camera, an infrared LED, an ultrasonic distance meter and an Arduino development device. The sensor cover and removable arm support are modeled and constructed using 3D printing. A software with user-interface is created for a sensor. The work describes the experiments carried out to find the ideal lighting and camera parameters settings. It is possible to take a photo of a hand veins and identify a person stored in a database based on the captured image.
3D Fingerprint Model Creation
Pavlík, David ; Váňa, Jan (referee) ; Dluhoš, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with acquiring fingerpints, basics of processing fingerprints at biometric systems and 3D model creation techniques. Main aim of this thesis is graphical application that uses fingerprint acquired with 2D fingerprint scanner and then creates 3D model of it. Application does not take curvature of finger into consideration but tries to reproduce height of papillary ridges. It's code is written in C++ with use of cross-platform user interface framework Qt. Besides 3D model creation it allows user to choose accuracy of this model and to export it in two different file formats. Possible use of this application is on the field of fingerprint liveness detection based on sweat pores. Application was tested on 50 real fingerprints and also on two different types of artifical fingerprints.
Presentation Attack Detection on Hand Sensing Technology in Infrared Area
Richtarik, Jakub ; Sakin, Martin (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
When verifying a fingerprint, an attacker can use a counterfeit made of synthetic material. This can be prevented, for example, by using multispectral analysis, when various materials have different reflectance for certain wavelengths. There are several studies that have addressed this, but have always focused on one finger. The aim of this work is liveness detection on the whole palm and fingers, as on a larger object, which will contribute to even higher level of security. In the final solution, a NIR camera was used to capture the dataset, which is used to train a convolutional network to determine whether it is a living hand or a counterfeit.
Biometric Performance Testing of Signature Technology
Homola, Petr ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Fiala, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused to possibilities of biometrics of dynamics signature. The first part is devoted to general explanations of basic concepts and standards for measuring effectiveness. Explains the problematics of processing characteristics of the signature. Descibes the equipment of the appropriate components for capturing the dynamic signature. The main section deals with testing abillities of verification of user and identification and testing the posibillities of deception devices. Presents design and implementation of program for identification. Records the progress and results of all performed tests.
Biometric fingerprint liveness detection
Jurek, Jakub ; Smital, Lukáš (referee) ; Vítek, Martin (advisor)
This project deals with general biometrics issues focusing on fingerprint biometrics, with description of dermal papillae and principles of fingerprint sensors. Next this work deals with fingerprint liveness detection issues, including description of methods of detection. Next this work describes chosen features for own detection, used database of fingerprints and own algorithm for image pre-processing. Furthermore neural network classifier for liveness detection with chosen features is decribed followed by statistic evaluation of the chosen features and detection results as well as description of the created graphical user interface.
Biometric Recognition of 3D Faces
Michálek, Martin ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Mráček, Štěpán (advisor)
This thesis is about biometric 3D face recognition . A general biometric system as well as functioning of biometric system are present . Techniques used in 2D and 3D face recognition are described . Finally , an automatic biometric system for 3D face recognition is proposed and implemeted . This system divide face for areas by position of detected landmarks . Particular areas are compared separately . Final system fusion results from Eigenfaces and ARENA algorithms .

Recognition of persons clothing in the video signal
Mlýnková, Barbora ; Kříž, Petr (referee) ; Přinosil, Jiří (advisor)
This paper is dealing with the detection clothes characteristics in the picture, for the use of person identification. These characteristics are described and categorized. It also deals with the design of the database structure, which works with masks and categories of characteristics for their processing. This work uses haar cascades to detect face and to determine the position of clothing for the purpose of color detection
