A perspective of students from Faculty of Education of University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice on alternative attitudes in education and on potential application of these methods in their practise

The thesis is focused on a subjective perspective of students from Faculty of Education of University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice on attitudes in education and on potential application of these methods in their practise. In this thesis is covered general exploration which characterizes particular types of alternative schools and alternative approaches in the process of education. Data were gained from questionnaire and with usage of didactical test. On research were participated 139 students from Faculty od Education of University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. In the result part are covered finding outs which refer to fact that most of students would use alternative attitudes during their practise even if only small part of them have ever visited any of alternative schools. The higher percentage of respondents answered that they have only limited information about alternative education which was verified by didactical test. The average access from the test was 50%.

Chemistry education at Czech Waldorf Schools and possibilities of student portfolio work in chemistry teaching

This diploma thesis is focused on aspects of education at Waldorf schools. It deals marginally with some general aspects of Waldorf pedagogy, on the other hand, the Waldorf school teaching plan, especially in chemistry teaching context is described and discussed in detail. Educational approaches and procedures at Czech Waldorf schools (especially Prague schools) are described and discussed, based on a personal experience. The second part of the thesis is focused on evaluation of key competences through the Waldorf portfolio work. Many inspirations to chemistry teaching on Waldorf schools (and common schools) are included, which are mostly verified in my praxis. Appendix includes examples of students portfolio works and methodical commentaries to chemistry teaching at Waldorf schools of secondary level.

Role of Experiments in Chemical Education at Waldorf Lyceum Compared to "Ordinary" Gymnasium in the Czech Republic

4 Abstract This bachelor thesis examines the role of experiments in Chemistry lessons at Waldorf schools and roughly compares the approach towards their implementation into lessons at Waldorf schools and selected secondary schools (gymnasia) in the Czech Republic. The first part is dedicated to the description of Waldorf school specifics. The second part gives results of a general survey focused on the ways of use and frequency of experiments at selected secondary schools in the Czech Republic. Results of this survey and visits to laboratory practicals at one high school were confronted and discussed in contrast with results of inspections of classes at two Waldorf schools; Waldorf Lyceum in Prague and Primary and Secondary Waldorf School in Semily. Approaches to experiments at both types of schools are compared and arguments for and against are given. On the whole we can say that Waldorf schools take experiments (demonstrations) as an integral part of every Chemistry lesson and are essential for Chemistry education. However laboratory practicals are rare and the amount of information in lessons is smaller than at ordinary secondary schools observed. Waldorf school and motivation in teaching.

Diploma thesis with the title "Waldorf school and motivation in teaching" focuses on differences in pupil´s motivation to learn English language at standard schools and Waldorf schools. Theoretical part includes fundamental information about pedagogy of Waldorf, methods of English language teaching at Waldorf schools, motivation and its role in class. The work implies findings of research made on achievement motivation and preferential motivation at standards schools and Waldorf schools. The data have been collected using questionnaires in June 2014.

History of Waldorf schools in the world and the Czech Republic, comparison of waldorf education to other classic reform directions

The work deals with the history of waldorf schools and waldorf pedagogy compares to other classic reform schools. At the beginning of the thesis defines the term alternative school and typology alternative schools. The thesis is focused on the creation and development of waldorf schools around the world and the Czech Republic. Describes in detail the founding of the first waldorf School in Germany and Bohemia. Mentioned is the founder of waldorf education Rudolf Steiner. In the chapter on the first waldorf school in Bohemia text based on interviews with the initiator and first class teacher. Of the waldorf schools around the world during the years 1991 to 2013 is derived interested in waldorf pedagogy. Third and concluding part of the paper compares the waldorf pedagogy with other classic reform schools. These schools include waldorf school, montessori school, dalton school, modern school Célestin Freinet and Jena plan.

Comparing the Art Work of Pupils at the Second Level Common School and the Waldorf School

The candidate´s work aims to compare art work of pupils at two different educational institutions: a regular primary school and a Waldorf school. The first chapter of the theoretical part deals with specific features of waldorf pedagogy in comparison to that in the traditional educational system. The second chapter outlines the development of children´s art skills, especially at the second level of a primary school. The practical part analyses a set of 82 drawings of a human figure and a Sentence Completion Test collected from the sixth and ninth grade pupils of both schools. The aim of this work is to discern possible differences in the children´s creativity at both types of schools.
