Airport building
Špás, Jan ; Utíkal, Aleš (referee) ; Utíkalová, Ivana (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design of the airport building in the airport area Jihlava-Henčov. There is a flat plot land on which one-story building with a two-story tower is located. The single-story part of the building is designed as a wooden frame of glue-laminated timber which opens to the airport runways to the south. The roof curtain walling is designed with insulation of foam glass blocks and the roof covering is folded metal roof. The tower is designed as a steel frame with the metal sandwich panels. Under the building is designed a installation channel for the passage of installations and air ducts.
Influence of Waste Diatomite as a Raw Material on the Properties of the Inorganic Foam Glass
Nguyen, Martin ; Sedlačík, Martin ; Sokolář, Radomír ; Opravil, Tomáš
This article deals with the manufacturing process of inorganic foam glass with utilization of waste diatomite as a raw material. The waste diatomite was first subjected to an analysis of chemical and mineralogical composition. The foam glass was formed by a powder sintering method by pressing into pellets with the addition of a foaming agent. After firing, the properties of the foam glass were investigated using an X-ray diffraction analysis, scanning electron microscopy, bulk density, and compressive strength. The possibility of utilization of waste diatomite in raw material mixtures was investigated in accordance with the influence of firing temperature and the resulting properties of inorganic foam glass.
Wellness center
Vetešník, Štěpán ; Kozubíková, Ivana (referee) ; Matějka, Libor (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is a design documentation for construction of a wellness centre. The main goals include creating structural and material solutions or designing a layout. The designed wellness centre is a building of 3 above-ground floors, which also has a basement. It is situated in a mild slope and shaped into a wave. The building will have a role of a local amenity, providing its visitors a wellness, 3 pools and a space for leisure activities.
Implementation of Apartment House for Social Housing in Starec - Building Contruction Project
Bobek, Vojtěch ; Nečasová, Barbora (referee) ; Liška, Pavel (advisor)
Master thesis focuses on complex conducting of the technological project with accented earthwork, laying foundations and ceiling construction. Apartment building consists of two floors and is based in complicated geotechnical conditions which require changing subsoil and laying a foundation slab. The main aim of this thesis is a proposal of technological notes, time and financial management, selection of machinery, transport to the building site, work safety regulations, quality check of the conducted work and construction organisation.
Inorganic thermal insulation material for masonry elements
Sedlačík, Martin ; Švec, Jiří (referee) ; Opravil, Tomáš (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with preparation of foam glass and explores the possibilies of utilization of this material as an inorganic thermal insulating filler of fired hollow bricks. Foam glass was prepared via powder sintering method from waste packaging glass, using limestone and graphite as foaming agents. After inital analysis of raw materials, the effect of mixture composition and different processing parameters on bulk density, pore size and morphology of foam glass was investigated. Last but not least, different ways of manufacturing thermal insulating bricks, by preparation of foam glass directly in the cavities of fired hollow bricks, were tested.
Development of lightweight composites based on foam glass aggregate
Szotkowská, Michaela ; Sedlmajer, Martin (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
Bachelor´s thesis is concerned of development of bonding foam glass with organic binders. The theoretical part describes the use of recycled glass to produce aggregates based on foam glass. It also describes its production, properties and use in construction. The work also focuses on the types of organic binders and their properties. In the practical part, the optimal ratio between the binder and the filler is proposed and the subsequent assessment of the required properties of the final composite.
Halls of residence
Matějů, Šimon ; Havířová, Zdeňka (referee) ; Lavický, Miloš (advisor)
THIS DIPLOMA WORK IS PROJECTING A PROJECT DOCUMENTATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF STUDENT DORMITORY IN BRNO. THE BUILDING IS SITUATED AT THE TECHNOLOGY PARK NEAR TO SEVERAL VUT FACULTY AND STUDENT CAMPUS. THE DESIGN CAME FROM THE LONG-TERM LACK OF ACCOMMODATION CAPACITY ON EXISTING DORMITORY IN BRNO, THE EMPHASIS WAS PUT MAINLY ON THE ACCOMMODATION CAPACITY OF THE BUILDING. THE BUILDING CONSISTS OF TWO FOUR-STOREY BLOCKS WITH A TOTAL CAPACITY OF 244 BEDS, WHICH ARE SITED ON THE 2ND TO 4TH FLOORS. A TYPICAL AND REVERSE ELEMENT IS A LIVING CELL IN WHICH CONTAINS TWO DOUBLE ROOMS - A COMMON SCHEDULE WITH DINING ROOM, A COMMON SOCIAL BACKGROUND WITH A HALL, AND TWO BALCONIES ACCESSIBLE FROM THE KITCHEN. 1. THE FLOOR FLOOR CONNECTS BOTH BLOCKS WITH A LARGE STUDY AND CORRIDOR. THE REMAINING ROOMS IN THE 1ST FLOOR ARE USED AS A TECHNICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE FACILITY OF THE DUTY.
Timber detached house
Mertl, Vítek ; Struhala, Karel (referee) ; Jelínek, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with a design of a massive wooden building - a log house, as a house for a five-member family with a small handmade workshop. The building is located in the Ore Mountains in the village called Klíny, district Most. The proposed building is two-storey with a sloping roof. In most cases natural-based materials are used to make the building as ecological as possible. Windows and doors openings have laminated wooden frames. The building is based on a layer of foam glass to improve thermal insulation properties. The family house is designed to provide the warm of home with a touch of nature.
Development of lightweight composites based on foam glass with utilization in civil engineering
Bubeník, Jan ; Sedlmajer, Martin (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
Theoretical part of diploma thesis deals with progressive building materials, namely with aggregate from foam glass. Resources for production, description of production, properties of aggregate and its utilization are included. Production of lightweight gaping concrete, its properties, risks during its production and utilization in building practice are part of diploma thesis as well. Lightweight gaping concrete was made during practical part. It was produced by combining aggregate from foam glass and cement. Testing of required properties was carried out on these made samples.
Development of masonry componets based on light foam glass based aggregate
Pěček, Bronislav ; Sedlmajer, Martin (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
Bachelor´s thesis covers development of masonry components based on light foam glass aggregate. Theoretical part pursues purpose of masonry components and description of different materials from which they are made of, mainly light foam glass aggregate. Practical part, focuses on designe of shape arrangment of masonry component and verifies mechanical properties of material, which was used in design.
