A Grammatical Sketch of the Romani dialect of the Gemere village Krásnohorské Podhradie Petr Rubák Abstract The primary goal of the thesis is to provide a grammatical description of the unique Romani dialect of Krásnohorské Podhradie (south-eastern Slovakia), a transitional variety between South Central and North Central subgroups of Central Romani. The body of the thesis is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter briefly deals with phonology and morphophonology, including a description of the phoneme inventory and a description of various sound changes. The second, the main chapter is devoted to morphology and contains a description of the derivation and inflection of nouns, adjectives and verbs. The third chapter is shortly devoted basic and complex syntactic structures. The linguistic data are based on linguistic elicitation using of standardized dialectological questionnaires. Regional languages in the French educational system

Beginning section of this thesis named Regional languages in the French education system is focused on a terminology concerning regional languages. Further content is focused on the history of languages in France since the Roman campaign on Gaul territory and the latinization of this region until the democratization of regional languages towards regular French. An important role in French education system development was played by education laws that are thoroughtly discussed in text of this thesis. The current distribution of regional languages in France and teaching of these languages in French schools is described in the next part of the thesis. This part is primarily focused on the four regional languages: Basque, Breton, Catalan and Occitan. Laws that permited the education of regional languages in France and faciliated the foundation of institutions intended to support these regional languages are also covered within this section. The research of today's state of Occitan in everyday life of Nîmes residents is covered in final part of this thesis. Occitan was chosen as the representative model of regional language. For the research have been used questionnaires to find out that Occitan is still living even though it is only known by the elder generation. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
An Analysis of regional dialects spoken in Nové Syrovice, Láz

The topic of this work is the analysis of dialect in locations of Nové Syrovice and Láz in the Třebíč region. The author analyses the spoken expressions of three generations (old, middle age and the youngest). The author performs phonetics, morphology and lexical analysis of dialect phenomena and evaluates the current situation of the dialect in this region. The aim of this work is to assess the degree of preservation of dialect features, retreat of previously specific elements or innovation caused by the influence of the media.
The use of correspondence surveys in dialect geografy research

The article deals with the beginnings of a systematic exploration of our dialects by the method of correspondence inquiries, organized by the Institute of the Czech Language in the middle of the 20th century. It enlightens the way of current electronic processing of chosen geolinguistic data, worked in the form of isoglosses into the geographic information system GIS, and evaluates the results of the correspondence inguiries in comparison with the previous research done by A. Frinta (1913) as well as with the research done for the Czech Linguistic Atlas (1965–1972).
The history of the Czech Linguistic Atlas

The Czech Linguistic Atlas (of which 5 volumes were published between 1992–2005, and Supplements in 2011) gives a comprehensive and in-depth view of the territorial diversity of Czech dialects and of common speech. The Atlas is based on the results of an extensive research carried out at the territory of the Czech national language (1964–1972).
Regional dialectal dictionary and problems of its compiling: based on material from the Podkrkonoší region

The article deals with compiling the dialect dictionary from the Podkrkonoší region. It points to the problems of creating a completely new method of material gathering (with the changed language and social situation, the basic method becomes the excerption of regional written sources, while the traditional field work shifts to the position of a supplementary method) as well as the problems relating to the method of differential approach, regularly not applicated while compiling dictionaries of such type. Furthermore, it presents a concise survey of the current status of collecting and compiling the dialect lexis in the territorially delimited (also on a map) Podkrkonoší region.
