PharmDr. Josef Malý, Ph.D. Consultant: PharmDr. Anna Patková, Ph.D. Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Introduction and aims: The term antibacterial prophylaxis (AP) refers to antibiotic (ATB) administration in prevention of surgical site infection (SSI). There are many factors in population which can potentially raise the risk of the incidence of SSI. The maintenance of basic rules of the AP and knowledge, influence and timely elimination of risk factors of SSI are the most important measures which can reduce a number of postoperative SSI. The aim of this study was to analyze antibiotic administration in prophylaxis in the local hospital in the Czech Republic and compare the results to well known international guidelines (ASHP-G) and latest scientific knowledge (LSK). Methods: The cross-sectional study was conducted in October 2019. During the period from 2nd to 23rd October, the data of surgeries and used AP were collected. Author: Šárka Sperottová Supervisor of the thesis: PharmDr. Martin Doseděl, Ph.D. Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Background: A Drug-Related Problem - DRP - is according to Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe - PCNE - an event or circumstance involving drug therapy that actually or potentially interferes with desired health outcomes. We can encounter DRP in every general practitioner's - GPs - office all around the world. But with proper cooperation between practitioners and pharmacists we could reduce the number of problems. That would be big benefit for patients and health system as well. This thesis is focused on anticoagulant drugs, mainly on DOAC group - direct oral anticoagulants - and their DRP in it's theoretical part. Practical part of thesis is analysis of DRP in GPs office itself. Aim: Theoretical part - describe the process of haemostasis and the possibilities of influencing this process by drugs. Department: Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Background and aim: A drug-related problem (DRP) has been defined as an event or circumstance involving drug therapy that actually or potentially interferes with desired health outcomes [1]. The theoretical background chapter is aimed to give a detailed description of selected studies dealing with drug-related problems in various settings. The retrospective cross- sectional study, described in the experimental part of the thesis, was carried out in order to identify, classify and assess DRPs in a rehabilitation facility and to discuss the results with a physician and subsequently determine intervention acceptance rate. Methods: The data were collected during a nine-day-long audit in three wards of a rehabilitation facility in the Czech Republic through a review of medical documentation. The aim of this work was to analyse the AP in surgical procedures at the Masaryk Hospital in Ústí nad Labem (MNUL) in the context of the MNUL guideline (DP) and the research on available AP work. Methods: A cross-sectional observational study ran from January 2018 to March 2018 in surgical departments at MNUL. Abstarct Analysis of the Therapy in Patients with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis Author: Martina Procházková Tutor: PharmDr. Josef Malý, Ph.D. Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Introduction and aims: Methotrexate (MTX) is an effective and safe drug used for the treatment of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and is well-known like a golden standart in the treatment of this serious illness. The aim of this study was analysis of therapy in patients with JIA focusing on MTX and faktors affecting its intolerance. Methods: The study was undertaken from January 2017 to February 2018 at the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. Patients younger than 18 years old, who have become ill with JIA for the first time or repeatedly between years 2015-2017 and were treated by MTX were included in this study. The prevalence of MTX intolerance was measured by "Methotrexate Intolerance Severity Score" questionaire every 3 months during regular rheumatological examinations. Objective: The aim of this work was to carry out a revision of pharmacotherapy in a rehabilitation health facility and to analyse acquired drug-related problems. Methodology: The collection of data took place from 13 to 15 February 2017 in health facility in the Czech Republic. The review of pharmacotherapy was performed by a three-member team (clinical pharmacist, pharmacist, work researcher). The data obtained from the provided medical records were recorded into the database, which was prepared for the purpose of the pharmacotherapy review. They affect patient's safety from the long-term point of view.1 The great part of medication errors occurs on the level of drug administration.2 In healthcare facilities mostly nurses are responsible for medication administration.3 AIM To obtain and evaluate medication errors during drug administration by nurses in a healthcare facility. METHODICS A prospective observational study was conducted in the facility Hamzova léčebna for children and adults focusing on medical rehabilitation. Data collection was performed in May 2019 three consecutive days on each ward, where drugs were administrated by nurse. Direct observation was done in morning, noon and evening drug administrations.
