Pokorná, Michaela
During two successive lactations in 2009 and 2010 the aim of the study was to determine and evaluate chosen milk quality and quantity parameters in the flock of purebred East Friesian (EF) ewes. Experiment occurred during two lactation periods and 35 ewes were included in experiment in 2009 and 45 ewes in 2010. Milk records and samplings were carried out five times during milking period from May to September. Individual milk samples were analyzed for: total solids (TS), fat (F), protein (P), casein (CN), whey protein (WP), lactose (L). In addition the samples from 20 ewes were analyzed for: pH, titratable acidity (TA), rennet clotting time (RCT), rennet curd quality (RCQ), somatic cell count (SCC) and urea (U). In the study the effects of lactation stage, parity, litter size and month of lambing on chosen parameters were evaluated, as well as their interactions with LS. In 2009 the lactation stage had a significant effect on daily milk yield (DMY), milk composition, pH and titratable acidity. The parity had a significant effect on P, WP, L and RCT. However the litter size had a significant effect on DMY, L, TA and U. The month of lambing had a significant effect on DMY, TS, P, CN, L and TA. In 2010 the lactation stage had a significant effect on on DMY, milk composition, pH, TA, SCC and RCT. The parity had a significant effect on TS, F, L and U. Nevertheless the litter size had a significant effect on L and the month of lambing had a significant effect on L and SCC. In 2010 the part aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of lactation stage on fatty acids composition. The LS had a significant effect on contents of all chosen fatty acids and their sums.
Chosen Factors Influencing Meat Performance of Sumava Sheep
NOVÁKOVÁ, Iva
The goal of this Diploma thesis was an analysis of the chosen factors and their influence on meat performance of sumava sheep. This factors were presented trough the lamb sex, change of the nutrition dose and change of the surroundings. For this purpose it was chosen the sumava sheep farming in herd Michlova Hut. At first this herd was introduced, than statistically described in terms of meat performance and in the next part there was analysis of the chosen factors. Based on these results the conclusions and the basic breeder recommendation to breeder community were deduced. The main reason for choice this topic was a growing number of sheep farming focused on meat performance and factors trough them this performance is influenced.
Influence of The Chosen Factors on Fertility in Herd of Sumava Sheep
NOVÁKOVÁ, Iva
The goal of this Diploma thesis was an analysis of the chosen factors and their influence on sheep fertility in the herd of sumava sheep. This factors were presented through the age of sheep, sheep nutrition and stress influence on the sheep fertility. For this purpose it was chosen the sumava sheep farming in herd Michlova Hut. At first this herd was introduced, than statistically described in terms of sheep fertility and in the next part there was analysis of the chosen factors. Based on these results the conclusions and the basic breeder recommendation to breeder community were deduced. The main reason for choice this topic was a growing breeder´s interest in breeder´s economy and various possibilities of the increasing sheep fertility.
Using of sheep in organic agriculture
TICHÁ, Eva
The topic of my bachelor's thesis is The Utilization of sheep in ecological agriculture. I was evaluating a level of a reproducing quality and a production of slaughter lambs. For my thesis I chose The Organic Farm Bílek which is situated in the sub montane part of the Šumava range. I got the data from the fancier's record over the years 200ř 2013. The sheep in the monitored breeding are cross-breeds of combined šumava sheep's breed and meat breed called suffolk. The number of the basic herd has decreased over several past years. I evaluated these reproducing indicators by ewes: fertilization, fertility, infertility, birth, a number of still-born lambs, death in 14 days after giving birth and a number of reared lambs. I found out these values by reproducing indicators: fertilization 92,2% , fertility 131,2 %, infertility 10,5 %, birth 89,5 %, the number of still-born lambs 2,5 %, death in 14 days after giving birth 7,6 % and the number of reared lambs 117,8 %. Slaughter lambs have reached to an average growth 169,9 g per one day over the monitored period of time. According to the results it is visible that the reproducing indicators have reached very low values. The average daily growth's values have been low as well. And so I evaluated the results of surveyed indicators as below-average.
Market of selected organic commodities (organic milk)
BEZEMKOVÁ, Aneta

Sheep breeding in conditions organic and conventional farming
HOMOLKOVÁ, Monika
Sheep husbandry has been rising for a long time in the Czech Republic. The number of flocks of sheep has been increasing gradually, which is an evidence of their popularity among breeders. Thanks to the hardiness of sheep, their breeding is mostly concentrated in the mountaneous an submontaneous areas where they are utilized not only for prime meat or milk production but also for mainaining the landscape. The goal of my thesis is to evaluate sheep husbandry at two farms managed under conventional and ecological conditions respectively, in the submontaneous area of Southern Bohemia. The distance between the two farms is approximately 1.5 km. The same indicators ( ewe reproduction, flock management, nutrition, pasture methods and system of breeding) were examined at both farms. The data were observed during the period of two years ? 2011 and 1012.
Analysis of the meat performance of Sumava sheep in herd Michlova Huť
NOVÁKOVÁ, Iva
At the present time in Czech Republic we can see a growing number of sheep farming focused on meat performance. Sheep´s meat has a high quality and we can expect much higher demand for this product in the future despite its minimal present consumption in Czech Republic. Predominant concentration on meat performance of sheep is caused by sheep farmers through several factors that are modesty of meat breed, relatively easy farming technology and a wide range of marketing opportunities. At the same time it´s possible to combine this breeding way with the breeding of other animals and with various profit-making activities. The goal of this Bachelor thesis was an analysis of the meat performance level in herd of Sumava sheep in Michlova Huť. For this purpose I used information from the year 2009, 2010 and 2011, from which I deduced conclusions about this Sumava sheep farming. Based on these results the basic breeder recommendations to breeder community were deduced. Based on this analysis I found out, that the greatest average daily mass increase reached lambs in the year 2010 while the smallest values were noted in the year 2011. Concretely we see than the value of meat performance 216, 39 g/day in 2010 and the value 161, 25 g/day in 2011. The next conclusion is that there was no significant influence of paternal line on lamb´s meat performance during the observed period (2009, 2010 and 2011). Breed´s economy is on this farm very advantageous because there is the sheep farming combined with the raising livestock and other different services in the agriculture part. At the same time there are preferred the long-term strategies connected with the effectiveness and productivity of labour on farm Michlova Huť.
Evaluation of production characteristics of sheep in organic farming
KALIANKOVÁ, Eva
The purpose of my graduation theses on the theme ? sheep breending at the ecological farm? was toanalyze the level of uses properities sheep and economic indicators at the ecological farm Račín situated in mountain part of Šumava. The detail information from studies of the technical literature specialized on ecological agriculture were brought out to analyze the whole questions of sheep breending at the ecological farm Račín. Meat yield was evaluated . The evaluation of reproduction was based on four basic reproductive indexes. The weight of 100 days old sheep and the production of wool were detected by scaling. Detected values were lower in most of indexes than published indexes. This fact is connected with detected inadequacies of lairage, nutrition and breending organization. Steps were suggested to eliminate these inaquacies and to innovate the level of breending in conclusion.
The standard of chosen sheep farm analysis
HRBKOVÁ, Jana
Sheep breeding is very suitable branch to be practised on the mountain. The thesis deals with sheep breeding level in chosen mountain stud. The purpose of the thesis is interpretation of quality indicators of sheep at the farm and also making financial analysis. At the close there can be found some recommended disposal how to improve enterprise efficiency.
Ethological manifestations sheep along pastoral season
KOUTNÁ, Zdeňka
The aim of the thesis is to write down and evaluate the base categories of the sheep grazing behaviour during one grazing period as regards the various climatic conditions. The method of the direct observation was used when the length of interval was 10 minutes. It was done five times for always 24 hours during a grazing period. The longest time of the grazing (43,8 % of the day) was found out in July. High temperatures shortened the time of the grazing to 26,8 % of the day. If the growth is of poor quality the time of the movement is lengthened out to 10 % of the day. The longest time of the lying category was found out in August (54,4 % of the day).
