Šillerová, Kateřina ; Mrva,, MgA Jozef (referee) ; Raimund, Karolina (advisor)
The installation consists of soap stained glass, drawings, objects and individual fragments. The project works with the idea that things around us are conscious and can feel emotions, just like us. It focuses on relating to the body and turning the perspective from the outside in. By combining scientific imagery with a spiritual plane, the work aims to return a positive relationship or sensitization towards matter, the body.
An effect of attended outdoor education on pre-service biology teachers
KYTLEROVÁ, Petra
This diploma thesis deals with the effect of attended outdoor education on pre-service biology students at University in České Budějovice. There is an explanation of what is outdoor education and what are its schemes and forms in the theoretical part. Then there are the benefits and disadvantages of outdoor education which relate to the reasons why outdoor education is or is not part of teaching biology. In the last part of the theoretical part there is the incorporation of outdoor education into the RVP ZV and a chapter about outdoor education in other researches. A questionnaire was assembled based on the theoretical part and it was sent to former students of Faculty of Education in České Budějovice who studied biology. The outcomes of the questionnaire are in the last part. By some students the correlation of the number of participated outdoor courses and results of the studying was made but no relation was confirmed.
Motivation to teach biology in relation to less popular biological topics
Křečková, Tereza ; Rajsiglová, Ina (advisor) ; Mourek, Jan (referee)
Biology in general is one of the moderately popular or rather popular subjects within science subjects, and at the same time it is often classified as a low-difficulty or even easy subject. Even so, there are areas, such as geology, mycology, protozoology and, surprisingly, botany, which are described as unpopular by pupils in 2nd grade of elementary school and multi-year high schools and do not leave a lasting mark on students or motivate them to explore more deeply. This may be due to a lack of motivation, interest, incorrect attitudes towards these areas of biology or a lack of belief or perception of these particular topics. All of the causes mentioned can also stem from the framework education programmes, and below these programmes in selected European Union countries are compared. The first aim of the bachelor thesis is to discuss the term motivation and to relate it to other terms mentioned in relation to motivation. The other objectives are to look into biological topics and to find which of them are among the unpopular ones among pupils in the Czech Republic, Finland and Slovakia. Among the selected unpopular topics in each country, algology was specifically selected because of its own experience in teaching biology at the 2nd grade of primary school. As a teacher, it is difficult to grasp...
The Jizera Mountains Peatbogs as a Model Biotope for Teaching Ecology
Marelová, Tereza ; Soldán, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Skýbová, Jana (referee)
The main topic of the bachelor's thesis is the Jizera Mountains peatlands and their use in teaching ecology. The aim of the thesis is to summarize information about the bog as a biotope and use it practically in teaching biology. The thesis is divided into two main parts - the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part is divided into two chapters. The first chapter introduces the reader to the peatlands of the Protected Landscape Area of the Jizera Mountains and focuses on the legal demarcation of protected areas. It describes in more detail the local flora and fauna and the definition of the origin, development, importance and use of peat as well as the negative consequences of the extraction of this raw material and the subsequent protection of these areas as a unique natural biotope for many organisms. The second chapter introduces the reader to the general characteristics of ecology and its disciplines, it also focuses on individual relationships between organisms. The last part of the theoretical part of the chapter is focused on the teaching of ecology in elementary school and its concept in the teaching of the second level. The practical part deals with the use of bogs in the teaching of natural history at primary school and presents a proposal for an excursion to one of...
Problematical issues of conservation biology education
ŘÍHOVÁ, Libuše
The aim of the thesis is to map the problematic places in nature conservation teaching in primary schools and to create suitable teaching material to help pupils better master these areas. The research included an analysis of school educational programmes and textbooks on natural history and geography for the 2nd grade of primary schools. The analysis involved 26 school educational programmes and 24 textbooks. From this analysis it emerged that nature conservation teaching in primary schools is defined relatively vaguely and cursorily and most often focused on protected areas or protected species. Nature conservation as such is mostly devoted to only two pages in the textbooks. Following the research of Říhová (2019), Vodehnalová (2019), Tvrdá (2016) and the analysis of ŠVP and textbooks, several topics or problematic places in nature conservation teaching were selected. These places were then verified by a questionnaire survey among teachers of the 2nd grade of primary school. The questionnaire survey, which was conducted electronically using the Office Forms application in January 2022, was attended by 41 respondents, across all regions of the Czech Republic. Most teachers said surprisingly that they consider these topics important and are devoted to them in the teaching, but probably not to the extent that it would be needed. Some say that they would appreciate a higher time subsidy in order to cover all areas of this issue. Teachers are the least devoted to eutrophication in the teaching. For the above mentioned reasons, a suitable didactic material was created, which includes all important topics in nature conservation teaching at elementary school. The research was supported by the Grand agency of University of South Bohemia GAJU 042/2022/S.
Adaptation of didactic materials of selected educational contents for the educational area Man and Nature for visually impaired pupils in basic education
KREJČÍKOVÁ, Jitka
The aim of this bachelor theses was to compile theoretical data about specifics of children and pupils with visual impairment and consequently relate it to the educational process of pupils with visual impairment in sciences at primary school. On the basis of that the partial aim was to creat adapted didactic material for teaching sciences, to use it in practice and to evaluate the results. The adapted didactic material was focused on subcellular and cellular biology and on mycology and was used during the lessons of biology in the sixth grade of primary school with inclusion of a girl with severe visual impairment.
Marine biology in Czech biology textbooks
BUŠTOVÁ, Barbora
The Bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis of marine biology in pupils' textbooks of natural history in elementary schools. The literary survey is devoted to a general characteristics of the concept of "a textbook". Furthermore, the survey is focused on the analysis of particular textbooks of natural history, especially on their content relating to marine species of animals. In the Bachelor thesis are also mentioned extended information about those animal taxa. The practical part is represented by created (by the author herself) educational sheets for elementary school pupils with the focus on the specific marine animals.
Badatelsky orientovaná výuka k tématu sinic a řas
BŘEZINA, Petr
The thesis deals with subject of high school inquiry-based learning (IBL) with focus on phycology. A research of schools' lab equipment, feasibility of IBL and attitude of teachers towards this approach was made. Five inquiry-based exercises were assembled, along with methodical notes and suggestions for teachers. The issues with general phycology teaching and implementing IBL in Czech education system were discussed.
Teaching Biology via playing games
KOZLOVÁ, Marcela
Bachelor thesis deals with teaching methods in natural history and is specifically focused on teaching in the form of games. The theoretical part of the work contains a description of teaching methods that are still commonly used today and further focused on a specific form of teaching - didactic games. The practical part of the work is focused on the differences between frontal teaching and teaching in the form of games.
Cross-curricular relationships physics - biology in physics teaching in basic schools
PECHOVÁ, Veronika
My bachelor's thesis deals with the interdisciplinary relationship between physics and biology and It's teaching at the second stage of primary school. In the introduction I focus on the trend of intergrated teaching and interdisciplinary relationships in general. In my bachelor's thesis we can find individual physical phenomena from biology textbooks. In the chapter called "Analysis of selected physical phenomena in biology textbooks" I will focus on sound and light. At the end of the bachelor's thesis I also mentioned some suggestions for practical teaching in schools.
