Analysis of financing of non-profit organisation

The master's thesis is focused on analysing of financing of non-profit organisation. The theoretical part describes the non-profit sector within the national economy, there is defined the non-profit organisation, its legal forms and options for financing of non-profit organisation. The theoretical part will is closed by a chapter on marketing and chapter where are described methods of financial analysis. The practical part describes activities and funding of two civil associations FUTURA, o.s. and CZECHDESIGN.CZ, o.s, ultimately is done financial analysis of these two civil associations for the time period 2005 - 2009. In conclusion of this master's thesis are compared and evaluated analysis of both associations.

The analyst of the sport funding in the Czech Republic

The main aim of the Master's thesis is to summarize the current structure of the sport funding from the Czech state. The work analyses its failures and points out the main factors that rank the Czech Republic among three worst financing states in the European Union in terms of the absolute and relative amount of the funds supporting psychical activities. Firstly, the theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the history of the sport in the Czech Republic and its social importance. To create the basis for the analyses included in this thesis, this part introduces the definitions of the non-profit organization and the civil association. Secondly, the practical part deals with the detailed analysis of the mentioned funding, which takes the form of state's direct and indirect subsidies.

Development aid in Kenya

The main aim of this thesis is to reveal the importance of the development aid in Kenya and to demonstrate, on the example of Slovak republic, which type of aid plays more important role -- wheather the official or unofficial aid. Effectivness of aid in Kenya is evaluated on the basis of correlation of the amounts of development aid and indices which show improvement or degradation of economic and social situation of the country. The significance of the official and unofficial aid is evaluated by comparing the projects that are supported by ODA and projects supported by non-governmental organizations on the basis of financial criterium and the reach of the projects. The contribution of this thesis is to show effectivness of development aid in poor countries on the example of Kenya. The work has three chapters. The object of the first chapter is to present economic and social situation in Kenya and individual factors which can help her to get over the underdevelopment. The second chapter offers characteristics of individual donors and evaluates the relevance of development aid. The last chapter presents concrete projects of ODA of Slovak republic and of Slovak non-governmental organizations and evaluates which of the two types of aid is more important.

Analysis of NGOs in the field of education in the Central Bohemia Region

The topic of this master thesis is focused on the analysis of NGOs in the field of education in the Central Bohemia Region. The thesis points out relationship and development of the private, public and non-profit sector in education. The goal is to capture the development of NGOs active in the field of education in the Central Bohemia Region, to identify their status, analyse the effectiveness of their activities and compare the current non-profit organization with a historic non-profit organization. The first part focuses on the historical development of NGOs in the field of education from 17. century. More specifically, it monitors development and changes in their institutional arrangements, legal environment and financing. Particularly is monitored Piarist college in Slany. Within the second part of work the current state of NGOs in the field of education in the Central Bohemia Region is analysed. It focuses on church schools and publicly beneficial organizations. This analysis is related to the performance of non-profit organizations, economic results and their justification in education. The last part compares historical non-profit organization with current ones.

The Theory of Corporate Governance of Non-Profit Organizations” (on the example of the Czech hospitals)

The dissertation thesis "The Theory of Corporate Governance of Non-Profit Organizations" (on the example of the Czech hospitals)" deals with the development of the theory of corporate governance within non-profit organizations. The main goal of the study was to contribute theories and methodologies of corporate governance within non-profit organizations with a focus on hospitals. The hospitals were chosen among medical facilities because they have different ownership structure, legal form and financing. Czech corporate governance practice within non-profit hospitals is analyzed in detail in this dissertation thesis. Based on the analyse of 192 hospitals existing in the Czech Republic, 78 non-for-profit hospitals were determined. The non-profit hospitals were further separated into eight groups, according to founder and legal form. The main characteristics of corporate governance such are ownership, board structure and the shareholders theory are examined within eight defined groups. A model of corporate governance valid for the Czech health care service sector was developed. The results of empirical research are stated in the conclusion of the thesis.

Tax burden of chosen type of non-profit organization

Nonprofit organizations are governed by the same tax rules as business organizations. There are different tax benefits and exemptions, but there are higher demands on accounting and tax records. The interpretation of tax law seems confusing and complicated, therefore it was suggested how to reduce the administrative burden of non-profit organization.

Legal aspect of activity of the CTO

This thesis attends to CTO established and run by municipality. The main theme of this work is legal regulation of activity of the CTOs according to their legal forms and contractual relations which come into being in connection with existence and activity of the CTO. This legal regulation in The Czech Republic was compared with legal regulation of activity of the CTO in Slovakia. This thesis also adverts to advancement of segment of these organizations which is reflected at explored CTOs. With regard to main function of CTO which means offering information for free, this thesis mentions non-profit sector.

The present paper involves the utilization of civic associations, non-profit associatins and individuals while helping the professional bodies of Intergated Rescue System (IRS) in order to manage the consequence of an extraordinary event. Optimally, we can help the afflicted population when we set out to create a system that can take full advantage of planned and offered assistance from non-governmeltal organisations, corporate bodies as well as self-employed individuals and individual citizens, which manages to co-ordinate it all properly. The aim of the present paper is to attemempt to record all the posible sources og the appropriate civic associations, non-profit associations and individuals that would help the basic bodies of the IRS while solving an extraordinary event. Moreover, to attempt to draft a system that best secure the goal of the remedy, its uniformity and efficient provision for the respectively afflicted people all according to a concretised situation and need.

Taxation of Non-profit organization

Nowadays non-profit organizations are the integral parts of developed economics. They fill gap in the market, where exist market failures. Their main aim is not to reach profit but to offer services in which ``invisible hand of market{\crqq} fail. But it doesn{\crq}t mean, that they can{\crq}t reach profit. Attention is on reasons why these non-profit organizations exist, potential profit or revenue are secondary aims. For these reasons there exist some differences in taxation of non-profit organizations. I deal with these differences in my work.
