Evaluation of the municipality cooperation in the Czech Republic with using practical examples of the cooperation

This thesis focuses on cooperation among municipalities in the Czech Republic, on total description of this issue and on evaluation of the forms of the cooperation. The thesis relates especially to small municipalities which can acquire additional financial resources by establishing cooperation and therefore initiate socio-economic development of the region and economies of scale. Diploma thesis is divided into three parts. The first and the second part make up the theoretical part of this thesis. The first chapter characterizes the position and the competency of municipalities in the Czech Republic, clears up the historical context of high number of Czech municipalities, describes current municipal size-structure and then goes over to main theme of this thesis -- cooperation among municipalities in the Czech Republic. The second chapter introduces all possible forms of the cooperation, both inter-municipal and also between municipalities and other local subjects. The third chapter is the practical one and there are two different forms of cooperation analyzed and their activities evaluated. Concretely, I have chosen a voluntary group of municipalities named Region Zlínsko and Local action group named Místní akční skupina Ploština. Both of the cooperative groups are situated in the region of Zlín and their members are (with only some exceptions) small municipalities.

The analysis of members of Euroregion Glacensis

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the possibilities of municipal cooperation in the Czech Republic with municipalities of other states, primarily on euroregions. The aim is to determine main benefits to municipalities from their membership in Euroregion Glacensis and to assess their involvement in cross-border cooperation. The theoretical part generally describes cooperation of Czech municipalities with municipalities of other states, including the possibilities of cooperation. Afterwards one particular form of cooperation (euroregions) is discussed. The Czech-Polish euroregion -- Euroregion Glacensis is a good example to show how euroregions work and what they do. The practical part is dedicated to analysis of members in Euroregion Glacensis. Their developing, structure and involvement in cross-border cooperation is shown there. The part of this work is also own research among members of Euroregion Glacensis.

Forms of Regional Co-operation in the Light of the Promotion of Production

The aim of the bachelor thesis "Forms of Regional Co-operation in the Light of the Promotion of Production" is to analyze selected forms of regional cooperation and to define its potential for promoting local production. I have chosen the local action group fully named Civic Association "CHANCE IN NATURE - Local Action Group" for my thesis. This action group is located in southern Bohemia. After a general introduction, the second chapter presents a brief theoretical fundament of the problems to solve. This part is followed by a short presentation of the methodology and then a characteristic of the specific local action group. The main objective of the analytic part of the thesis was to evaluate formulated hypothesis and to answer the research question. Analyses of both primary and secondary data showed an existing effort to support local producers, resp. local production and generally to contribute the development of the region where the local action group is operating. Even if the enterpreuneurs{\crq} membership of the local group is not too numerous, the local action group is able to support local entrepreneurs when offering help to both members and non-members. The example of this specific local action group shows obviously a potential of such association to support a regional development.

The cooperation of municipalities upon supply local public goods

This work deals with cooperation of municipalities upon the supply of local public goods. The main goal of this work is to review the status and progress of cooperation of municipalities in the Southbohemian region. This work is divided into three parts. The introductory part is concerned with theoretical information about public goods and the possibilities of cooperation of municipalities in order to supply them. The second part cites the most important information sources and aspects of research which was conducted in the third part. The research deals with the status of cooperation of municipalities in the Southbohemian region from the legal form perspective and the year the cooperation was initiated. The most common form of cooperation is the voluntary association of municipalities. Divisions České Budějovice and Jindřichův Hradec were chosen for a more detailed research of associations. Status and progress of receipts and expenditures of associantions, including their purposes, are depicted thereinafter. Significant influence of grants on the investments of associantions is evident. Achieved results have positive effect for next expansion of municipalities.

The cooperation of municipalities

Inter-municipal co-operation (IMC) is one of the most challenging forms of co-operation between local authorities. If municipalities need to co-operate, isn't it because they are too small. And if they are too small, why not amalgamate then? IMC is often seen -- and feared -- as a first step towards amalgamation, or a bad compromise after the failure to amalgamate. It shouldn't. Across Europe, the reasons for inter-municipal co-operation vary to a considerable extent. And they are not necessarily linked to the excessive (for some) fragmentation of the municipal chart. Inter-municipal cooperation offers a serious way forward. It is not an easy option; it can be complex and it carries risk. But it has the potential to deliver significant advantages to all municipalities, both large and small.

Co-operation of small municipalities and microregions in The Czech republic

In my master thesis I will focus on advantages of co-operation small villages and their expectant development. The theoretic part of thesis target the legislative and socioeconomic aspects of municipal co-operation. Principal aim is giving account of positive and negative impacts of function and next development of co-operation smaller municipalities and their staying in residential structure. Next part will be attended to association of municipalities and legal entities called Sdružení Růže. This is situated in the south part of Czech republic. I will analyze kinds of their activities and determinate limits and barriers of their development by socioeconomic analysis territory.

Development possibilities and potential of Microregion Chrudimsko

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá formami spolupráce měst a obcí v ČR se zaměřením na dobrovolné svazky obcí. Je shrnutím teoretických poznatků dotýkajících se spolupráce obcí. Svazky obcí představují jednu z forem spolupráce obcí, umožňují jednotlivým obcím lépe dosáhnout na finanční prostředky a realizovat projekty, které by jako samostatné obce nebyly schopny uskutečnit. Na konkrétním svazku obcí Mikroregionu Chrudimsko jsou vymezena úskalí fungování mikroregionů a dále na základě vytvořené socioekonomické analýzy možnosti rozvoje tohoto územního celku.
